I would like for those of you who use the chat rooms to give me an evaluation of the two solutions that I have installed at this time. The old one is pretty slick and has some nice features but doesn't work from all devices. The new one isn't as slick but seems to work just as well and is easier to get into and out of I think. It will be your call. If you choose the new one called "Shoutbox" at the top of the page then I will update it to the pro version. That won't make it any slicker looking but will add a few features such as allowing you to detach and run it in a separate window, turn the notification sounds on or off, things like that. Like I said, it is your call. From a money stand point, it's not a big deal. I would have to pay for the pro version of the new one but I also pay a yearly hosting fee separately for the old one so for the short term at least, it's pretty much a wash. So lets hear it. What do you want? The other option is that I could keep both but not upgrade the new one to the pro version. Just leave it as it is. I really don't think that we need two chat rooms though.

This list has been a real help as I struggled to get my 92 Venture back up and running. Starter Clutch replaced, Carbs redone and sync. changed all fluids out, all with help or advise from this list. The results is about 700 miles so far on the best riding for comfort bike I have ever ridden. I have had goldwings and Harleys and none of them takes a pot hole or railroad crossing or that invisable bump like the Venture. Even my Harley die hard was blown away with a RR crossing I dared him to take. The bike matching the feeling in new car (well ok close real close) For a guy with a bad back that is a must. It cost a lot of time and money to get the bike running and I hope I avoid any more trouble but for the ride I will just continue to throw money at the bike to fix it when the problem comes up. Thanks to all on this list who post and help others. My abilities and knowledge is limited at best so about all I can do is say thanks you guys make a difference.

Can I make a stupid suggestion here? Lets get into the Powerball. We can PayPal Freebird three bucks. That pays for one chance, $2.00, and gives us somthing extra. We can donate what is left. Two dollars for the PB chance and we decide what charity gets the cash by a member vote for the remaining funds. Crazy idea? I donate alot of time and money to those I will never meet. It is a good feeling. The best feeling I have ever had in my life. We could wait til the next pull if nobody hits.

Sorry Yankees fans I dont feel your pain. Only thing better would have been to see the Orioles pull it off instead. Its nice to see that money doesnt always buy everything. But it would have been cool to see the A's or Orioles go through. Gotta love the underdogs.....

Hey folks new to this site but looks like a good group. Was wondering how i might find someone in my area to help me with a carb sync. I dont have the vac gauges thought maybe someone who did might wanna make some money. I don't like going to the shop and paying too much for this kind of work. I live in central WI and would not object to a nice 200 mile ride:)

Just replaced my rear shock on a 99 RSV. I opted to go with a Hagon, great value for the money. $399 shipped to my house. I cannot get over how well the bike rides and sits. For the money I think they are the best deal out there. I will post after getting some more miles on it.

I found out something very interesting today. My 2005 Ford Escape died on the side of the road. (Yes I know what FORD stands for!) It seemed like it was being starved for fuel..but I checked and the pump and the filter were just fine. So I had it towed to the dealer. It seems the platinum plugs that are supposed to be good for over 100,000 km (60,000 miles) are NOT! In fact...what happens is as the plug wears, the gap increases. This causes the coils (one for each plug) to work harder which in turn causes radio frequency interference which fries the main computer. So...my dead truck cost me -6 new plugs at $8 each. -6 new coils at almost $100 each:mo money: Plus the new PCM or TCI or whatever they call the main computer a$1,125 (or if could try and find a used one at $750) To change the rear plugs and coils they have to remove part of the intake manifold so lots of labor and a gasket to boot. Total cost of the repair? $2,550.00:mo money: All because of worn out plugs. (my truck only has 90,000 km) The mechanic is the son of a family friend, and he suggested the main computer might not be fried....that I should change coils and plugs and try it. He said the bad parts could cause the computer to show as bad also. I might get lucky...but then again this is ME we are talking about. :mo money:I got it towed home and will try to do it myself.... Did I mention $2500????:crying: So there goes the international, :smile5:Friday the 13th, some safety chrome and a few other things like food and utilities for the next few months.

Is there certain types of GPS units to use for motorcycles? I set up my Megelan $150.00 GPS from Canadian Tire on my V-Strom to go for a long new places ride. It started off good then after a couple hours started shutting itself down and "rebooting" then by the time I had found a few gravel roads and many roads that went no place at all I was on the highway to home and it just got into a loop of start up - shut down over and over. Now I think the battery is hooped as now when I unplug it it will not run at all, it used to run 1/2 hour or so. I had it mounted on the wind screen with the suction cup, maybe that is the bad. I know I had a link at one time for solid mounts but was never able to find a 1st gen to Megelan mount and now I have 2 bikes to put it on... what to do now? :mo money: :mo money:

Some of you know that the reason I haven't been on the site is that we haven't had internet at the new house. I ended up getting an AT&T Hotspot wifi transmitter that uses cell towers and 4G to get hooked up. It works but I'm not crazy about having to spend $60+ a month for internet. I have this thing for 30 days to try it, and if I want I can return it and get out of the contract (which I wont go into that rant) I need other options from y'all, I wont waste my money on Huges Net and besides what we have right now, that is the only other option. I'm too far from a distribution center to be able to get DSL, and dialup will just irritate me and I have enough irritants in my life right now. I am open for any ideas or suggestions you have

Well the auctions will be over in a little over a day..........out of the 11 auctions, only 3 are bid on, and only 1 is over $0.25. Thats right 25 cents.........I guess everyone has all the St. Jude items they need...........The way things are going this year with the fund raising due to the economy, price of gas and so forth and so forth, I may me mailing the donation in instead of making the ride to St. Jude. Maybe I need to come up with something special, one of a kind item to auction, but that will mean spending money to make money and to me at this time its a really big gamble. I do want to thank everyone who has donated and participated in the St. Jude fundraisers.

I went to Fin, Fur and feather yesterday to get a couple new rods and reels to replace our older rods we use for crappie fishing. I guess I should have looked at the prices - 3 reels, 2 rods and tax = $298.00 OUCH ! I had a little cash left so I went upstairs to look at the Kimbers knowing they wouldn't have anything that would fit like my Glock. First I looked at and held the Solo, I know it's not fair but it reminded me of the KelTec I have. Then I asked what other options were available in 9MM. The clerk brought out an Ultra CDP 11, that's when it happened - I was totally smitten I started breathing heavy, broke out in a light sweat and when I could talk again I asked if he had one in a box. No was his response and he just stood there - After a short (very short) awkward moment, I told him to put it in a box before somebody else saw it. :mo money: In line at the cash register a guy looked at me and said - your first Kimber ? I replied yes and he his offered congratulations saying "you'll like it " Bottom line - Don't go to a well stocked sporting goods store without your wife !

Anyone else following the Barrett jackson collector car auction now? 1954 mecedes gullwing just went for $2 000 000. Where do people get that kind of money for a car that you should not drive and put in a climate controllled atmosphere? Not from being a Ford technician let me tell you.
