So I installed 1.5" riser on the handle bars today. All the lines look like there is plenty of play in them. I was not able to re install the rubber mounts for the fairing. Have to think about that for a while before I modify them. Any suggestions are appreciated. The one other problem I found is the mounts now hit the plastic cover on the gas tank by the key. They don't touch the ignition but do move the plastic. I am looking for another one that I can modify. Preferably in Black but any color will do. if anyone has an extra they are willing to part with please let me know. Thanks much

Throttle cable rebuild help

I am looking for a source of a tool/kit to be able to change out the ends on a 1st gen throttle cable. I need to be able to reattach the small round lead barrel on the end of the twisted cable. I have a local source for the cable, dirt cheap, but not at the right lengths or end styles. I need to do some tweaking to at least the carb end pull cable. It would also help if I could modify the choke & vboost cables. I have found a place online, but they are in England. I just got an MKII trunk delivered the other day. But I need the brackets that bolt the front of the trunk to the chrome mount. The ones I circled in red in the picture. Anybody have a couple they want to part with? I had also bought a mount assuming that it would be a simply bolt onto my MKI. But it doesn't. So I'm going to have to either modify the mount to fit my MKI, or modify the trunk to fit my MKI mount. The plus side to the later it that I might be able to take it on & off with a key like the MKI trunk. Who knows? Bill Oh ya! a couple of those pouches I circled in blue would be nice as well. -
88's collector has the typical rattle that's driving me crazy. I'm looking to buy a spare to modify so I can just do a 1-1 swap in a day. Anyone have one available? Thanks -
I was at the yamaha dealer a few weeks ago and was looking at the stratoliners and I like the rear lights on them,has anyone ever put those on the venture? From looking at them I dont think I would have to modify anything much just wonder how they would plug in I think they are led but not sure.

OK folks I just picked up Harley touring mufflers off e-bay. Now I have read about the modification 1-4. These are still original I do not know what year bike they came off of, but the left one has a catalyst in it. What now? How can I modify this one compare to the other side? Should I install them the way they are now and try first? Can they be modified? Thanks.

Hi Guys and Gals, I have recently purchased some R/K mufflers. They look almost like the Ventures. However, although I have seen several people talking about modifying them, i'm not quite sure what they mean about stage 1,2,3,&4 modifications. I do better with pictures than words. On the mufflers I got, I am able to look directly through the center and see what is on the other side. There are baffles in them that I can see, but I can still look through the center of them. My question is how do I know what stage they are, and what can I do to modify them for more sound. Thanks, Big Mike:15_8_211[1]: -
I finaly broke down and bought a set of Barons bag slash and go them on the bike today. I really like the sound of these things, althou I am going to modify the baffles to tone them down just a bit. Put my son inlaw outside to listen to me ride by and he said they had a nice deep rumble and sounded like the old cars with the straight pipes. Anyway I have a couple of concerns. First I think I rember reading they change the mount to give more clearance. Ended up real close to the back of the sidebags. See the attchments. Not realy crazy about the angle. May modify the mount some how. Any suggestions. Second I now have a lot of poping on decel that I didn't have before. Not really that bad but very noticeable. Carbs, rejet, remove AIS? Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.

OK,,,, here goes Will 1986-1993 rear bag guards work on a 1983 venture will the bolt up or will i have to modify some part Thanks lee :confused24:
