Hey All: I just stopped by my local Advance Auto Parts here on Ole Lynchburg, VA and discovered that they had a special on Mobile 1 Syn - 15-50. Been using this since I got my Venture and change every 4000. Deal is: Buy 5 qts. (I know it only hold 3.5 during changes) and you get a Mobil Filter for free. I have been using the Mobile M-108 since I got the Venture. No problems with Oil or Filter since I got the Venture. I DO NOT want to start another Oil discussion. Just letting those who use this producet know about the deal. All in cost is $32.99 plus tax here in Ole Virginia. 5 qts oil at $5.20 each and 1 Filter at $6.99. Saved $23.95 versus retail price. OK. So I save some $$$ now and have 1.5 qts ahead for the next change whick will be a little saving then! Offer is till end of Month here. Not sure about other places... FYI...

I've been changing oil twice a year with about 1000 miles between. Last year I changed the oil and put in amsoil with the MotorKote additive. The whine became unbearable at 55-60 mph so I dumped it out and put mobile 1 back in. Now the whine is guaranteed to show up at 55mph and yesterday a chirp showed up. Tomorrow I'm going to change oil again and this time I'm going to put Mobile 1 20w50 in it. It's really getting aggravating when people on the street stare at you and I know I'm not THAT unattractive, nor is my Venture. If anybody has any theories on this I sure would be willing to try them. I haven't bought the oil yet but I will tomorrow. My plan is to have a nice ride or 2 at Potato Creek w/o people staring at my bike because of the whine Thanks in advance

Not trying to stir the pot, just a questions about Mobile 1. I was considering changing over to Mobile 1 in by bike, however I read on a Mobile 1 container that it was "energy conserving". I have read many posts that said energy conserving oil was not good for the wet clutch in the Ventures. Am I missing something here?

Recently, I had started putting together a mobile garage. I did this for 2 reasons, sooner or later I will be leaving Wainwright for home, with a bunch more stuff, than I arrived here with... This will also give me a dry place, to work on scoots, back on the wet coast. I took 3 pics today, of the setup work done over the last 3 weekends, since getting the trailer. I will be adding more lights, but CDN Tire was out of the ones, I'm using over the workbench (which is roughed in but not finished). The tool box is bigger than what I was going to put in. But with the current sale price, I couldn't really pass it up. $1,000. normally, $625. Sale price + additional $350 Bonus card, to get more goodies. So I figure $275 for the tool box, I'm grabbing it, besides I was eyeing it for about 1.5 years.......... :mo money:

and I guess I didn't have enough info. I have amzoil in my '07' Venture but was reading that Mobile 1 was more apt to quiet the whine down a little more. There were 2 types to choose from and @ $10.00 a quart I didn't want to get the wrong one. So - the question is "which mobile 1 oil do I want to get ?? " and how about the filter ??

Just curious... Is there a "mobile" version of the forums? I have a Blackberry Curve that I use through work, and it has the full data package. I think it'd be cool to be able to post to the forums while on a road trip, without having to have a laptop along. I can pull up the site on the Blackberry, either through the proprietary browser, or Opera Mini, but gah does it look terrible. Of course it's due to the browsers trying to force it into a mobile format. Wasn't sure if there was a compatible mobile version of the site or not. Maybe just wishful thinking.

We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest family or friends. If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) Campaign The concept of "ICE" is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name "ICE" ( In Case Of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as "ICE." For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A great idea that will make a difference! Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today! Please forward this. It won't take too many "forwards" before everybody will know about thisIt really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest . ICE will speak for you when you are not able to.

Our local CMA chapter had a ride from Mobile to Owassa,AL, just over 100 mile north of Mobile. Beautiful day and about 55 degrees. Fished in his lake and had a cookout with good old home cooking. My wife an I had a wounderful time. We drove at an indicated 75 which I know is actually 70, but I went 186.2 miles on 4.3 gallons, 43.3 mpg. I could have made it all the way home but I didn't want to take the chance of not making it. Big Blue ran great. I am real happy with it. Oh, at that speed with the intercom on I couldnot hear the whine. Today I rode with a friend on his RK and I heard a whine that I had not heard before, then I noticed it was his HD whineing louder than Big Blue. tew47:bighug:
