If you are like me and don't sleep much. If you see another member browsing in the middle of the night can you say Ding Dong some way and invite them to chat? I'm always up at night and sometimes it would be nice to holler at somebody.

The address I have used for Google maps, which was setup to my hometown, has changed. Before, it came up with Johnson City in the middle and I could slide the portion on the leftside of the page out of the way. Now it comes up with a box with a lot of symbols and scrolling down will get me a map of middle Tennessee, but I can not do anything with it. Has anybody else's Google map changed? I have tried downloading several Google Map addresses and it still does the same. RandyA

Haven't been in here much lately.... was in the middle of Pre- trial conferences etc. for my claim-- struggling with PTSD at the moment But we have also sold our house, and we are in the middle of packing to move in about 4 weeks So will try to come say hello as much as I can....love you guys

I'm fixing to replace my slave assembly pretty soon, getting tired of topping off my clutch fluid every 2 weeks or so. I want to have everything ready so I ordered a new slave, which looks like it has the piston and spring inside (big wad of grease inside). I can't find if there is a gasket for the middle drive gear? Do y'all use permatex or am I missing this gasket in the parts diagrams somehow? Thanks in advance -
I have just recently begun to experience a jump or pop from the drivetrain under moderately heavy acceleration. I first thought it was coming from the rear end as I have had it happen in both first and second gear. Nothing is whining or grinding. I pulled the final drive apart after work and no problems there. I am now beginning to suspect the middle gears may be jumping a tooth under acceleration, but from everything that I have read so far they rarely have problems. I am open to any suggestions. -
Daughter back in school and it must be rough. She gets home sets on the couch and starts talking to me while I'm doing things, suddenly I don't hear her anymore and she was in the middle of telling me how her day went. I walked into the living room and this is what I found.

How do I get the left fork tube off my 2007 RSTD? I took the 2 pinch bolts out of the top, and removed 2 allen bolts at the middle that looked like they were holding the middle cover on, but no budging. Is there something else? Seems like there should be more to it than that, but the aluminum covers/protectors don't allow me to see anything else. Thanks -

Well, I found my oil leak. It's leaking right at the boot where the drive shaft and u-joint meet. I need to reseal the output shaft. I was looking at the parts diagram for the middle drive gear and I can't seem to find which seals I need. I see the crush washer and spacer, do they consider that the shaft gasket? -
So to make a long story short I am instaling a different middle gear in my 88 venture, so I wanted to know when the back lash is to be checked in 4 different places should I have the very same back lash # in all 4 places or can I be any where from the min to the max setting as given in the book, because it looks like there can be 2 shimes on one side and 1 on the other, And if I was to use that blue dye to check my work would that work on the way the venture is set up Thanks. -
2005 Escape I folded down the back seat on the escape to load something up...then when I went to lift the seat, the middle seatbelt won't "un ratchet" to allow the seat to lift up! I can get it ( the seat) to move about 6" and that's about it. (I had to be very careful how I worded this post to avoid Viagara ads!) I've tried feeding the belt back into the slot..but it won't release tension. I can't pull it out at all. Any suggestions on how to release the tension on a seat belt? The retractor is near the top of the backrest in the middle back seat and is not very accessable when the seat is folded down.

Been trying to find info about the middle gear and output shaft. Specifically ... how to check free play or gear lash ... can shims be installed... can it be done with engine still in the bike...etc? I know I've read before some info about this but can't seem to find specifically what I want by searching. Could someone point me to some tech info about this or maybe you can walk me through the process... got some pics? I have the service manual but all the info there seems to be based on the engine being out of the bike and with the cases split.

She said hello to the world at 8:10 pm last night. 6lbs-7oz. Her name is Tirzah (Tear-zah). In Hebrew it means "She is my Delight". Her middle name is Joy... Okay, now say them together and roll your eyes. Hope it doesn't scar the kid for life. (Christy's middle name is Joy also) Pictures are of my daughter, Christy and Tirzah and Luke Tirzah and Christy.

Went to work installing my mic cable that I built into the fairing today. I noticed the windshield is moving more than usual. Found the metal mounting strip is broken out of the yoke in the fairing. So it has 2700 miles and has already broken 2 different pieces. I also did the rear end pin lube the other day. It has warranty so I am hoping the dealer will fix the tab issue. I don't think I should be having this much trouble. The middle bolts were never installed... It had a zip tie there in place of one of the bolts. Do they have monkeys putting these things together? Wondering if I bought the wrong bike? Frank

Does anyone know where I can get a hopnel tank bib with the pouch for my 2004 midnite venture. I had one before that was braided in the centre and along the outside edges. The ones I see now all have the braid on the outside edges but not in the middle, the middle is plain.

Has anyone had a joint replacement of the finger? I didn't know about them until today. Doc told me that was the best option for the middle finger middle joint on my right hand. Hurt it fifty years ago playing football. My whole right hand is full of Arthritis. Hope I can still use my front brake after the surgery. tew47

Last month out riding. A rider ask me if I had ever seen the grave in the middle of the road. It is 5 or 5 1/2 miles south of Franklin Indiana east of U.S. 31 on 400S. So I had to get out today so I rode out to see it.

OK I am ready to hit the road on the Th to head to the Smoky Mnts, I finished everything on the bike to handle the trailer and I am hoping to meet some venture riders up there. I plan on stopping in Georgia Fri night then set up camp at Deep Creek campground in NC so I am in the middle between the BRP and the Gap if anyone is up there and want to meet up pm me I am so looking forward to the trip. Tom

Tore the rear of the bike off for maintenance and look what I discovered- a crack in one of the grooves in the middle of the tire. Just installed last year right before the Int'l Rally. Warranty issue?

Help, I changed the oil and used a ST7317 filter a little longer. The question is where in the sight glass do you fill it to? The top line or the middle between the two. Heading out to the beach this morning about a 400 mile ride and do no want to run it too low. I am just above the middle between the lines at 3 qts. The book calls for 3.9 with stock filter change. I started it and then let it set for about 4 minutes before I checked it. I put 3.5 qts in and there was not even a air bubble in the window so I sucked some out. Do I fill it to the top line? Thanks for you help. I,ll go check the tire while I wait for a reply.

Goin' to fill in the rest of my map in the area and get a saddlebag from Jonesy at Americade later the following week. Probably leavin' thursday night the 3rd of june, head south to the middle of IL and then head east through Indy and take I70 to the middle of PA and then down to DC. From there I'll be trying to ride in all those states but also trying to miss the big cities. When I get to Maine, I'm going to see if that "Haynesville road is just a ribbon of ice" in june, and then head back west to Mt Washington and then to Lake George. I'll keep posting to this thread as I go, but I'll probably camp quite a few nights so it may not be often as the trip progresses. If anyone lives along I70 in western Pa that would like company for a night next Friday, let me know. Beyond that, I have know idea where I'll end up at this point, but would like to meet a few more folks from here if it works out. Later, Scooter Bob
