It is windy and feels like 17°F. Snow tomorrow. It will be in the mid 20's for a high for the next 2 or 3 days. This afternoon, I plugged my RSV battery on trickle charge. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/05/72ff461ad8047aba8010ff8e039022f7.jpg

Wild 4th parade. http://www.todaystmj4.com/news/local/161363625.html This happened almost right in front of me. Fortunately it did happen right in front of the paramedics. Later that night the fireworks were canceled mid show after they started a fire. We are in severe drought conditions here.

Well for lack of finding a better place to post these questions, I figured this is probably the catch all place. The wife and I were discussing some vacation plans. We were going to spend like 4 days in Vegas. Not my prefered place but it was partialy paid for. So I got to looking at my schedule and I have some time availabe in mid October. So I suggested we go up to Franklin Nc. A friend of the wifes has a house there we could use as a base. She liked the idea. I know from there we can make alot of day trips out and around, small towns antiques, rock shops etc. My main concern is at that time of year did I make a big mistake weather wise? I know its hard to tell now, but we shouldnt have to worry about snow and that right? WE are just hoping for leaves changing cool weather etc. The farmers almanac is forcasting averages of 68 for high and lows in the mid 40's. Man I hope I aint messed this one up too.

Decided to give both my seafoamed VRs a mid winter start. Both started up just fine. Going to let them run for about 15 minutes.

or or better yet, when will it arrive? I'm talking about SUMMER! (our forecast for the next few days...) This kinda weather is happening all over. The cherry crops in the Okanagan are at least 2 weeks late and they're saying it will be a slow harvest lasting into mid Aug. I sure hope we hit some good weather by the end of next week when we head for CODY!!! (and that is stays for a while)

My daughter loves watching Ruf RUfman. Well on today's show the fetchers (contestants) had to go to Hartford (I think it was) and while they were there they got a ride from a guy driving a mid to late 80's Venture with a side-car. It was blue if that helps. Was it anyone here? Shaun

Does anyone know or have heard when the new yammies are coming out this year, I don't care what they might have on them as much as a date on when.. Seems like last year it was around mid Sept.

The bad part: I ended up taking Friday off as a vacation day after getting to work because I had several things I needed to do or wanted to do, and work was not one of them. I ended up making about a 30 mile round trip run to look at a Miata for a friend and after stopping to get a bite to eat, the bike started running real bad, alternating from 3 to 4 cylinders. Then I started having a rear end wobble and pulled over. When I got off and saw the rear tire was going down, I also noticed gas making a puddle under the bike. I jumped back on it as there was a convience store about a mile away and it did have an air hose available. After getting there and airing up my rear tire twice, I finally got it on the center stand. I then laid down and rotated the tire, which was a new E-3 that I had just put on, I found a hole where it had been punchered. I pulled out my plug kit, plugged it while laying on very hot pavement at about 95º in the sun, and then took off 20 miles for home, with gas leaking out a lot. I barely made it home, going from a full tank when I started out to a blinking light. but I made it. I pulled off the air box and sure enough, I had the right rear carb with fuel running out the over flow tube. Before I took anything apart, I pulled off the inlet hose for that carb and using an air nozzle with a tube on, I blew air into it. Yes, gas did spray out a jet or two, but it ended up working fine. I then took off the wheel and removed the tire and buffed down the area where I had put the plug and put on a heavy duty patch. I then put the tire back on, checked balance, and put everything back together. The good part: Got up Saturday morning and picked up a friend and before the weekend was over, I put 570 miles on the bike, which ran great and got from 43 to 45mpg. Of these miles, only about 40 were interstate and most were two lane with one run being from Cherokee, NC on the Blue Ridge Parkway up to just past Little Switzerland. This was at temperatures in mid 70's to mid 80's. knowing that down in the valleys it was mid 90's at least. If I was going to encounter this type of a problem, I was really glad it happened when it did because that two day ride had a lot of time in remote areas with no phone service. It ended up being a great weekend. RandyA

And maybe some more. Finally bought a new stable and a house to go with it. Marca is happy and Eric & family are ready to take over living in the old homestead. Closing is mid October, then some time for refreshments,,,and upgrades,,,,, and then we hope to settle in about mid November. Three car garage with 2 doors, will be lots of room to fix and repair, back yard big enough to make a campgound, with more room in the side yard. Even room for a BBQ. Now where to park some bikes,,,,, maybe the neighbours will like me after all.

up on Mt Mitchell, NC. I took a ride up there to get away from the 95 degree temperature down here in the valley and it was the hottest I have seen it up there. It would normally be in the mid 60's there this time of year. In fact, I was up there Memorial Day weekend and it was 57 degrees. I had a nice lunch at the park restaurant and took a picture from my seat looking down the mountain. RandyA

For the last several weeks, we have had beautiful springtime weather, sunny with highs in the mid 70's, until the weekends comes around. We have another wet cool weekend with rain and guess what, next Monday thru Friday is expected to be sunny with temps back to the mid to upper 70's. This seems to be the third weekend in a row with rain. Ok, I am done whining about the weather, for now. RandyA
