HOW TO INSTALL A SOUTHERN HOME SECURITY SYSTEM 1. Go to Goodwill and buy a pair of size 14-16 men's work boots. 2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns & Ammo Magazine. 3. Put four giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazines. 4. Leave a note on your door that reads ...... Bubba, Bertha, Duke, Slim, & I went for more ammo and beer. Be back in an hour. Don't mess with the pit bulls. They got the mailman this morning and messed him up bad. I don't think Killer took part, but it was hard to tell from all the blood. Anyway, I locked all four of 'em in the house. Better wait outside. Be right back. Cooter

I'm selling my 2006RSV and have it in the classified section here, but was wondering where the best other places to list it would be! I've never sold a vehicle outright so I'm not sure where to turn. I don't want to mess around with paypal and just want a normal transaction. Any help you folks can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, kenw

Since beginning work (July 2nd) here in the Bayou's and marshlands of my beloved State we have managed to rescue/save hundreds of brown pelicans-white pelicans, and birds of all species native to this area.... We have 26 Wildlife Transport Vehicles + 28 Drivers. We average from 400 to 900 miles per day (with only 4 hours off for sleep per day.... and NO days off) shuttling the wildlife to Emergency Triage Centers not far from our 3 designated receiving Stations. The damage is unbelievable....both to that of the wildlife and the beautiful habitat. You won't see this on the MSM News as it all would make the Administration and Bureaucrats look bad. For anyone who foolishly believes that this is only Louisianna's "problem" just watch what happens when that oil mass (which is now larger than the land mass of Tenn.) comes around Florida and makes its way up the Eastern seaboard all the freaking way to Bar Harbor Maine. Boomer....who hopes to hell this mess brings BP to its knees and a LOT of worthless Elected officials drown in this oil mess too.

I was wondering if there are any members awaiting black sludge in their backyards? I feel a little stupid, I did not realize once you "pierce" into one of these gas or oil deposits you had to suck it dry or else as soon as you pull the drill out the whole mess comes pouring out. And now their saying 3 months to stop the flow of 5000 barrels per day?! This will become world altering if it is not fixed ... IMHO

Tonight I decided to pull off my clutch lever to clean out the junk in there.. I'd been having some odd noises from the lever and it felt kind of odd from time to time.. So apart it went tonight.. and wow, what a frikken mess in there! Take off the nut, turn out the pivot bolt, and pull the lever off making sure to catch the brass holder.. everything was dark gunk mess in there.. no wonder it was feeling weird. A good cleaning and I discover the dust boot is torn to heck, exposing the push rod (plunger) to the elements.. Hmm wondering how munged up it might be inside of all there? I got everything re-assembled and lubed it up with Moly for now as I can't figure out what's best to lube it all up with properly. The one thing I do notice now is though the lever travels sooo much easier, it's also a lot more sloppy than before. I thought I might have dropped a sleeve from the pivot pin but no.. its simply just sloppy fitting now that all the junk it removed. I did notice that the brass holder is deformed and worn, and that the dust boot is torn. I'll go down to the shop and order each a new one.. however, how hard is it to install that boot? Considering the mess that I found, and the amount of slop in the lever play now, might it be worth my while to have the whole thing cleaned out and rebuilt with new seals? The book says to replace the piston seals every 2 years? I ride the bike a lot and in all kinds of weather.. the fluid tends to appear old prematurely, I wonder now if this is where some contamination might be coming in.. ? Thoughts, ideas or comments appreciated..

I've hunted for many years, not so much lately, but have never gotten a partridge to put on my dinner table. Went to a bike rally in Soldier, Iowa over the weekend. Didn't want to camp this time so rented a motel room about 20 miles out. Was heading back from dropping some things off and there in the road is a partridge starting to cross from left to right. I try to slow down but bird had other ideas. Got up just as I was about to pass and poof, feathers are flying, material (being nice here is all over my boot) Bird hit my highway peg on left side. I say a few choice words thinking there goes the front shroud. Well, all said and done, other then my boots needing a cleaning bird broke nothing, made a mess and Mrs didn't even see a thing on back. Never knew those birds were that dang big. No I don't have pictures but if you want, feel free to head out to Soldier, Iowa and look for some feathers along with another mess that could be described as human made. God Bless and Ride safe. Mike

I haven't listed this in the classifieds yet. I'd like to sell it to someone close and not have to mess with shipping. It's an unused Carbon One adaptor with legs. 100 bucks.

Be careful, folks! I must have downloaded something off the net that looked like it came from microsoft. It is BlockWatcher and is supposed to be good for you - says it will pick up spyware and virus and all - They want you to pay $50 for the privilege of removing bad stuff. It is a scam, pure and simple. And it gets deeply embedded in the computer. It is a mess. You can't uninstall it by any known normal methods. Spent a lot of Saturday messing with that pesky malware - found a program on line to uninstall BlockWatcher. Just because something looks legit doesn't mean it is!

Did about 500 miles today, and are at the KOA in Stanton, MO for the night(they have beer, and we need it after St Louis). Went to visit the arch, and found out 100,000 people were there for a Billy Graham Crusade(bad timing). But, that mess is over an hour behind us, and only a couple hundred more miles to do tomorrow and we're there. See you then, Scooter Bob and Karen

Found some kickass Billet LED frames that fit our bikes! LEDs are very bright and all the wiring is inside the frame. No wiring mess on back of frame. Don't Mess With Granny

My "new to me" 87 VR is acting up with a fast idle around 2500 rpm when warmed up. I've searched this forum and have found it is not that unusual. The recommended fixes are beyond my comfort level, as I would rather take it to someone who knows, rather than mess it up further myself, at least until I understand what to do. I am in the Benton, IL area about 110 miles SE of St. Louis. Any knowledgeable members or recommended shops/mechanics in this area? Thanks.

I learned a hard lesson today. If you mess with the laws of gravity, something is going to get dented! I had my bike sitting in the driveway idling. It must have been on a slight incline and the vibrations must have moved it slightly forward. As I turned around I got to witness the bike going over on its side. Sad day for me. I picked it up and was thankful that the crash bars were there and did their job as the tank did not get bent. The worst thing was the head light rim got dented and scratched along with the left had top portion of the windshield. Anyone know where I can get a new headlight rim? Don't mess with gravity!

Can someone tell be how to take off the grips that come on the 2007 Venture. I want to put the Kuryakin grips on and the local stealer wants $80.00 to install them and I believe I can do it as long as I don't mess anything up getting them off. Thanks, Eddie

I have been using Ride-On for several years now and have been happy with the product. Now I have some doubts. Last year when I changed my tires the shop had complained at how bad the Ride-On had gunked up the rims inside and he had a heck of a time trying to clean up the area. This time I had the shop pull the tires off and I brought the rims home to clean up myself prior to having the new tires installed. I couldnt believe the mess that was in there. Most of the Ride-on was caked on and thick. I had to use Goo Gone and a razor to scrape away the mess. Then used a wire detail brush and 150 grit sandpaper to finish off the inside of the rims. Most of the sealer was built up around the area that the tire seats to the rim (bead area). It worked its way up between the bead and the rim too. Some have said that it just wipes away.....not in this case. I spent several hours cleaning those rims and I still have a bit more to go on the front rim. This is not a condemnation of the product as it works well, but rather a warning to those who use it that when you change tires, clean up the mess inside at each tire change, not wait until several changes to do so. It just might save you some valuable riding time.

Amazing...the Al Gore crowd pushes this stuff before the research is really done. How many states are REQUIRING are promoting this mess? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,297681,00.html I just found it to be interesting. PLEASE don't turn it into a political debate.
