Greetings all, I came into a beautiful 98 Royal Star. It looks like it started life out as a standard because it has quad exhausts. Not only that but it appears to be BUB 4x4 exhausts. The bike came with the deluxe backrest, seats and soft bags. If anyone out there has them I was wondering what the pipe measurements are [OD/ID] I think it would look really awesome with FOUR tailgunner mufflers. Attached are a couple of pics. I have already sent some inquires out to BUB. Excuse the poor quality.

Hello all, I would like to ask a favor of you. I need some measurements for a royal star venture fuel tank, if possible. If the image upload worked, then the measurements I need are indicated by the red arrow lines. Thank you for your help. Johnny.

OK...I am so sorry that it took me so long to get around to this but for those who wanted a bit of detail on how I made the center stands for the RSV, I have added some measurements and pictures to the original thread in the tech library. You can see it here. Please note that I am no longer offering these stands. This information is provided for those of you who wish to make your own. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1427

3 1/2 years ago I tried to adjust my valves. I had done it on several bikes that had screw and locknut adjusters. Trying to go by the book wasn't working out so I put it back together and took it to the Yamaha dealer. When I talked to the mechanic he wasn't interested in helping me figure out what I was doing wrong. Now here it is 3 1/2 years later and I just had it checked by an independent. I told him about my attempt and that it still bothered me. He did it for half the price and explained what he thought wasn't working for me. Like the carb synch in the factoty manual he believes the factory service manual isn't right. He said he had to rotate the engine a little past TDC to obtain good measurements. He rotated it to where the lobes where straight up instead of pointing away from each other. In the position that the book called for the measurements that I was getting 3 1/2 years ago weren't making sense. 3 1/2 years ago (32,000) miles the Yamaha tech changed one shim. Today (65,000 miles) everything was in spec. ????????

Since I am no longer making the centerstands for the RSV, there have been some requests for the measurements of the bracket. Here is one that I quickly through together to get the measurements from. Not that the large holes on the U bracket and the straight bar are 16 mm. The ground out part at the bottom of the bar is so that the stand breaks over the proper amount. This varies per stand. I always put them together and then grind it out until the stand breaks JUST over verticle. Too much and it is hard to get the bike off the stand.

I finaly have found a set of floorboards for my '85 Royale, but they came without the bracket that mounts underneath linking them together and bolting to the frame. I would either like to find a bracket, or get the specs and measurements so I could fab my own. These boards are useless without a bracket. If anyone has one, or could send me a picture with measurements I would be a happy camper!!! Jack 1985 XVZ1200 Royale phinfan@chorus.net
