My Mark's exhaust collector is here. Hopefully a little bit more horsepower in it. Nice construction, stainless steel. Needs some polishing. Good communication from Mark, a little delay in getting it due to his workload. He made it and sent it to me, before he asked for payment. His email address is markmcpipe@gmail.com Collector was $321.49 and $14.90 shipping. Gary

It looks like the backrest is easy to remove for the times that I have a passenger on the bike. Is that correct? A couple of pins and pops off? Do the brackets for the backrest tend to dig in to the seat? Any wear marks or holes from the backrest or the brackets?

I finally took a day and worked on my prototype white leather tank cover. I did this one with no sew marks using folded edges and 77 contact glue. I did this one with no sewing marks as I wanted to see how a smooth one looked first. Future Options: 1) Sew edges with Black thread 2) Sew with white thread 3) Include some type of pocket for STUFF 4) Sew using some white and black leather. Several others. I might even put white as the side panels on the seats. (or reverse that and sit on white) What do you guys think?:feedback:

If anyone has any pics of Mean Dog, Mark Still, if you could send them to me I would like to post them in an album that is located on a Tribute Page for Mark, on the St. Jude Children's Hospital web site. There are some pics there that I had from Vogel 2007 and the Memphis ride to St. Jude. This was a charity that Mark was passionate about, and in Marks honor we can donate to St. Jude via this page. There is also a guest book that you can sign and leave a message or memories of Mark. I know Mark would be happy if we could raise more money for the hospital to help find a cure for the disease that took his and many other lives. I have set an ambitous goal of $10,000.00 to be raised in his honor. Every time a donation is made, Nancy, Marks wife will receive an email stating that a donation has been made in Marks memory. As most of you know I was cut of by a car last august. initially it was deemed that the driver of the car was 100% at fault. While I was in Germany the final police report came in and based on it findings the insurance Co. decided to hold each of us 50% responsible. the other guy claimed he was in my lane all along and that I came up behind him and lost control. Despite the fact that this guy had no license (it was suspended and drove an uninsured Car borrowed from a friend, the officer gave his version more credibility then mine. She did not even show a left hand turn lane in her report nor took notice of the skid and scrape marks on the pavement which clearly backed up my version of what happened. I did up my own version of what happened included a google arial pic of the intersection indicating vehical positions and movement prior to during and after the accident. I also indicated were the the skid and scrape marks on the pavement were and pointed out that i had shown these marks to both the first officer on the scene and the officer who did the report, and sent this in to the police complaint dept. My complaint was looked into and apparently they were able to verify that there were marks . apparently the officer who took over the investigation was new and this was her first solo report and she had left this fact out of her report. As a result the police dept promptly corrected this error and kindly contacted my insurance co. who has now agreed that the other person is once again 100% at fault. They offered me a decent settlement minus $250.00 should I decide to keep my bike. needless to say I kept my bike and will soon be looking for parts to get it back together for this summer. So there is no misunderstanding I would like to point out the police involved in this were all very nice and treated me with much respect.

I wanted to post this up for all our members. I just got off the phone with Nancy Stills (Mean Dogs wife) and she wanted this info to be posted up. They are having a memorial service for Mark at his home in Madden MS. on Saturday March 22nd @ 2pm. If the weather turns bad then it will be held @ the Madden Baptist Church. If anyone would like Marks addy, PM me and I'll send you the info, I dont want to post it here on the site. I know that the family would appreciate any friends of Marks to attend if possible. I just want to mention that I have changed the time. It will start at 2 PM and not 4 like was mentioned, getting old is hard sometimes!

Mufflers, Collectors and pipes...oh my!
Guest posted a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My collector seems to have a leak and everytime I look into getting new mufflers I only find "slip on pipes". Forgive my ignorance...but what exactly is the "slip ons" does that mean it slips over the pipes? Can we purchase a new collector or new pipes from anywhere? That is what seems to be rusted, near the middle to the front of my bike. The back looks great. A couple of you on previous post mentionned "Marks custom exhaust crossover pipes" and the "Marks collector". Are these new? I googled and could not find. Have a web site to refer me to? Thanks for the help!
