OK folks, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the changes to the forum. I have held off because some folks do not use PayPal and had mailed checks and money orders. I think that I have received most of them. Everybody who has paid should be marked now as a supporting member. You should see "supporting member" beside your username in any post that you have made. You can also see it in your UserCP at the upper right, across from your username. If you have paid and are not marked so, you need to let me know today. If you mailed a check but I haven't yet received it, let me know and I'll go ahead and mark you paid and trust that it will get to me. When I make the final changes, probably tonight, registered but non-supporting members will no longer be able to post messages. Even as I type this, I'm not sure exactly what areas will be open for read only but some will certainly be for members only. After the change, any new people who register will get a 15 day free trial. At the end of that trial, they will be automatically moved to the non-supporting group. So, if you have paid and are not marked as such, please let me know today. If you want to pay and haven't done so, go to your UserCP and scroll down until you see "Paid Subsriptions" in the left menu. Click on that and follow the instructions. You will be able to pay via PayPal. You do not have to be registered at PayPal to do so. It will allow you to pay via PayPal, credit card or ECheck. Thanks, Don

When I come to this site and read a few threads, then leave and come back later, and click on new posts, threads that I didn't look at the last time are being marked as read. (no longer in bold print) Is there some way I can set up my account so this won't happen? Thanks.

There like motorcycle batteries only smaller. They are marked 12 V 0.4 Amps. What would you use them for? I have access to about 15 of them. I'm sure they are worth something to somebody, But, who would need them?

hello, im new to post here and am trying to figure out where the hose marked carb on the charcoal canister goes as there is no fittin on the carb for this hose that i can see. The hose routing is marked on a sticker on the tank and does say "to carb". The other two hoses are marked atmosphere and tank and they are hook up already. Just cant find the fitting for the hose that needs to run to the carb. I do have a 1983 VR and it doesn't have the canister so i cant look at to compare. Any help would be great. The bike im working on is a 1985 VR. Thanks Shawn

After watching the install of the Stebel Compact Air Horn on JBurrell's bike this past weekend at the SE TX Maintenance Day, I decided to take the plunge and do it. I have been looking for an auxiliary fuse block to put under the seat, and that took me to Harbor Freight last night. No fuse box, but I did pick up a box of connectors and shrink wrap marked at $4.99 each. At the checkout, the total rang up to $15+. Turns out that they had marked a sale last night that begins today (3/27)! W00t! So head to Harbor Freight and pick up some goodies for those electrical projects you are planning. The shrink wrap assortment is particularly cool. Yes, I did install the airhorn. LOUD! I took my time, did it right, and there is plenty of amperage available. BTW, I used the CARBON_ONE bracket, and it worked great. No, I haven't found a fuse box at HF, Auto Zone, or Academy (where Ponch suggested). Suggestions for that are appreciated.

Is there a difference in the height of 1st gen centerstands? I've examined two now and they're not the same, so I guess the answer is yes. But what years have what heights? One I've seen is marked "'86", and the other one is not marked for year at all. The '86 one is shorter than the unmarked one. Otherwise they are styled exactly the same. Was anyone else aware of this height difference? Maybe this is why some were unhappy with the centerstand operation when mounted on a 2nd gen. Could some of you 1st gen owners measure the distance between the ground and the mounting bolt axis of the stand on your bikes and post it, along with what year you have? I'd appreciate it. TIA.
