Another great Memorial weekend in the books. I trust everyone is having a safe ride home today. It was great to see old friends and meet the new ones this year. We had a nice rides on both Saturday and Sunday even if it was a bit warm. And as usual, we managed to eat well. I didn't take a lot of photos myself but others did so please post a few here. Below are a few that I shot. Thanks to all who came and we hope to do it again next year. Dennis

I took a 2001 Honda Valkyrie Interstate out for a ride this afternoon and was very impressed with the ride and the sheer power of the scoot.WOW, this blows my 85 outta the water! It was too quiet as i had trouble hearing it running at times but it seemed to fit me well and felt a lot lighter at low speeds than my 85 G1. I managed to talk him down to a lower price and he has to discuss it with his family and get it cleared off his loans to be free for sale. I should find out in the next day or so if the bike is going to be mine. Brian

I picked up a nice chrome trunk guard a while back but the Barons light lenses were all faded out and almost clear, so Ive been trying to find the replacements. Finally, today I managed to track them back to Drag Specialities and ordered the amber for the side lights and red for the back lights for 2.95 us per lens. They also offer the complete new light fixture if yours are rough for about 20 bucks. As Drag SPecialities is a wholesaler, they wouldnt sell so I managed to track down AllJet to take my order online, here is the info. http://shop.alljet.com/productdetail.htm?productId=7724779&catalogId=&searchProducts=2040-0299 Brian

Does anyone know if its possible to wire up Hazard warning lights on the Royal Star Venture. I've checked star accessories, but don't see any options within electrical. Has anyone managed to figure out how to perhaps get this feature wired on the bike ?

Have a 2008 VStar1300Tourer and with a combined bike, truck/trailer to allow a return through Canada in December, accumulated 14K miles on a fun Alaska to Florida and back trip. At times a center stand would have helped. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced one that could be added with minimal modification? Although I've rode various bikes for over 45 years, this is my first belt drive machine. Managed to get a hole in the belt in the Mid-West from road debris and it was not a pleasant experience. If anyone has an antidote for that or other mechanical suggestions pertinent to this model, I sure would appreciate the advice. Thanks in advance, Peter

... from Gary N. Over the weekend, I was having a few friends over to help me get a couple of things done to the RoadSofa (finally getting around to putting on the RK pipes, putting on the new wing/tail light, installing the Stebel Horn, etc...), and Gary came to help out. And he sure did help out too ... the wing/tail light looks great on the RSV, all courtesy of Mr Nantais himself. We managed to get in a BBQ, a ride for ice cream, a ride through some local twisties, even managed to catch an inning of one of the youngster's baseball tournaments! All that and good conversation too! Oh, and by the way ... Gary's got a beauty of a bike going there. It's a far cry from the day I went to see it in the shop - it was "nekked, as nekked can be" when I saw it in March and now, holy cow, it's totally dressed up!!! Cheers,

Kurt827 has had a very bad run of luck. After laying down his bike down earlier this year, he has been very sick recently. We just got word that Kurt has been in the hospital for about a month. He had the flu. Then was still complaining. Put him in the hospital find his galbladder needed to be removed. Then still problems and more testing showed problem with his pancreas problems. He has been a very sick man. I managed to get him on the phone today. He is home as of yesterday and hopefully on the mend. He is weak being down so long. Thought everyone would be interested in his wellbeing. If anyone is interested in sending get well card, let me know and can get you address.

This is unbelievable. As a quick recap, I took my Venture in to have a wider windshield and passing lamps installed by a dealership (Hahm Motorsports in Anaheim) and they basically jacked up my bike while in their possession (i.e. fairing, lowers, and highway peg). I went to pick the bike up after all the replacement of the aforementioned damaged parts and low and behold, they managed to back the bike up into something and caved in one of the saddle bag guards in the rear. I just took the bike with me and had them order me a new set of guards (on them) that I will install myself. This is incompetence to the "n" th degree. It would almost be comical, if it weren't happening to me.
