Having recently gotten a bike to rehab that has set awhile I got around to really digging in to it today. Removed the tank and gave it a quart of kerosene to rinse it out. The hoses are a bit checked so they where replaced. Makes sense to at least take off the float bowls and assess whether or not to take it down further. The clamps on the intake boots are loose and the carbs are still a bit snug. The manual makes it sound as if you can remove the carbs right off the boots but I'm a big guy with a large set of easy outs to prove my ability to snap stuff off. Can these be pried up or should I take the boots off right at the head? The only reason I ask is a previous hack covered the boots in some kind of epoxy, I'm guessing they where either split or checked. The bolts are covered and if need be I'll chip away to get them off, just not sure if I need to do it.

I am not able to find a member vendor that sells the lowering links for a 2nd gen RSV/RSTD. Do we still have a member of this forum that makes and sells them? If not, do we know of a good outside vendor that makes and/or sells them? Yes, I know that I can make these myself, but...I am wanting to look at a few options. I am going to be lowering the front of my '06 RSMTD by 3/4", but I also want to lower the rear end too. So, please let me know if we have lowering links available. I did find the ones from LA Choppers/Barons but they also include the new bracket to relocate the rear brake caliper, which I find to not be necessary. No need to buy a kit with that bracket, if I am not going to use it. Thanks,

Just want to offer up our prayers for our families, friends, members in the areas being hit by Hurricane Issac. Its no Katrina but still a deadly storm. Charlene and I have plenty of family and friends there, hope everyone makes it through, we also have many members in the storm area and they are in our prayers. What makes it hard for us is that its hitting the same area 7 years later, what an anniversary..........not one we want to be reminded of. God bless everyone affected.

Guys, I know someone on here makes a mount for the driving lights on our RSV's. It makes them stick out a little further from the fairing. Who can point me in the right direction? Just bought a set of driving lights tonight. Thanks....

My 09 tour deluxe head light needs to be supported on the bottom, to the light bar to prevent shaking. I ordered the light bar [ part # STR-4NK35-10-01] and [sealed beam lamps [#STR-4NK35-10-00]. My question is which mounting hardware do i need,i can't find the right part # for a 09 tour deluxe. All i could find is a # for 06 and older. P.S. My 09 has the quick release windshield, if that makes a differance.

this can be a very useful tool when used properly. i know that things change and can't be helped but it sure would make it easier if it was used more. i don't think anyones asking for blood just a little help. i know when your trying to cater a meal it makes it nice if you have a rough idea of how many people to look for,I'm just saying. have a blessed day.

I just wanted to take a minute to say HI to Y'all, it's been awhile since I've even had time to check email, let alone read all the good info on here..... working 60-100 miles from the house eats up my downtime. hoping to get some carb parts to get the 'ol couch up on the road soon, before monsoon season makes riding miserable:fingers-crossed-emo.......My bobber FINALLY passed emisions, now I get to dial the carbs back in so it'll run right.... any how I'm off to do errands again.......

SO I have kind of been studyin up on the Mic mute thing. I ran across an item on another fourm that is simply a in line mic mute. Made for the GW it says its a 5 pin connection. Looking around I have found them for $50. Wonder if I need one or two? Do they work? We have the high white noise static sound plus engine buzz. And I think because I have to run the IC volume so high it causes the aux MP3 player to not have as good of sound either. Sort of makes it "tinney" sounding. So far have only found one company that makes these jobs though. http://imcmoto.com/honda-goldwing-passenger-mic-mute-and-volume-control.html# http://imcmoto.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/800x600/040ec09b1e35df139433887a97daa66f/g/p/gpms_goldwing_volume_controller_copy.jpg Oops sorry for second gen if I didnt have that mentioned.

hi folks when i bought my '99 rsv motor trike in nov. 2010 it had bf goodrich p235/60 r15's on it. i can't remember what the front tire was. but i put my old avon cobra 150/80r-16 on. squid thought since the trike had radials on the rear might as well put a radial on the front. it's now coming time to put new shoes on the trike. i have found that cooper makes a p235/60 r16 radial. and firestone makes a firehawk indy 500 p235/60 r16. i kinda like the look of the cooper cobra's. i guess i realy comes down to what i want to install. but i just thought i would ask ya'll are using on your trikes. thanks best reguards don c.

AHHHHH the benefits of snow,,,,, it's pure white, it quiets the neighborhood, it keeps people indoors,,, it kills the gnats and mosquitoes, it does a number on flies. It comes and goes and makes Christmas pretty. It's fun to slide on and sled on, because of snow we have Hockey and skiing, and snow-boarding, and horse drawn sleighs. It keeps some people south and makes others head south, and so leaves more room for the rest of us. The cold gets rid of the heat, and makes one look forward to the heat once more. It gives a guy time to do work on his scoot,,, and that is most important!!!

A buddy of mine just got a Vulcan Nomad and it came with Air Lite Lower Engine Guards. Looks like a great idea but according to their website they don't make them for my RSTC. Here is their website: http://airlite.ca/index.php So is there a company that makes them for my bike or would I need to have something custom made? Its getting cold and these make sense to me! Thanks!

At the Cody Intl Rally I won a can of Protect All cleaner and polish. This stuff is FANTASTIC! I ordered 2 gallons of it. It also makes my chrome wheels VERY SHINY! Thanks for whoever got this stuff to give away.

About a month ago there was a post about a notchy feeling in the break and clutch and I believed I solved it with a fluid change. well its back and very annoying. I will hit the brale and its not enough to stop so I squeeze harder and it notches from firm to death grip and makes me really dive. I wonder if my plunger has goulk on it that needs to be cleaned out or if the pistons in the calipers have corrosion. either way. can someone direct me to a good source for both rebuild kits?
