It's been awhile since I've been here. I live in a very humid area ( Tx. gulf coast ). The kick stand is hard to opperate ( it doesn't move as freely as it did when it was new ). For comparrison I went to the dealer yesterday and played with a new Venture that they have on theire floor. I did the most logical thing and lubed it with marine grease but it is still hard to opperate. Has any one else had this problem and if so were you able to fix it by just greasing it or is it something else I'm missing?

You posted in one of my threads earlier this spring that rainy days are for getting to know my bike. At first as I listened to the tapping of raindrops on the garage roof I thought that you were right on the money. BUT...now that I have put the bike together from a truckload of parts, rebuilt and flushed the front brakes, done the starter upgrade, changed the o-ring in the coolant valve, flushed the clutch fluid, changed the clutch springs, greased the swingarm, upgraded the headlight and painted the bezel, changed the right side controls, put in a new battery, greased the speedo bearing and lubed the cable, lubed the throttle cables, changed and upgraded the shift pin assembly, changed all the side cover gaskets, added an aftermarket stereo and rear speakers, and...and...DARNIT I JUST WANT TO GO RIDING, MAKE IT STOP RAINING ALREADY, I KNOW THIS THING AS WELL AS I NEED TO FOR NOW...:depressed:

After reading jer878's thread about his new Wing I got to wondering.... We go out and buy a new or fairly new bike and some of the firsts thing we start doing is modifying them. Handle bar risers, Air Wings, Levelling links, Progressive springs, .... the list seems endless (and none of this involves safety chrome). And we're told that the front bearings need to be lubed and torqued, the hub pins are dry and need to be lubed, etc, etc... DANG!!! does anybody make a bike that doesn't need so much adjustments and modifications so a guy can just get on the danged thing and ride it without having to change this, adjust that, and lube what the factory didn't???? Something is wrong with this picture!

I am in the process of installing the shindengen voltage regulator. The question I have is if I install this in the air duct under the radio will it increase interference with the radio in any way? Being the three wires from the stator run into the regulator. I am also going to remove my tachometer and fix it, if possible. Mine has always been slow to react to changes in engine RPM. I removed it once and lubed it up thereby fixing the problem with it. But it has now gone back to slow response again. Has anyone a spare tach if so how much do you need for it.

I have recently developed a squeak in the rear suspension. I notice it mostly when getting off and on the bike, but it must be telling me something needs to be lubed. I dont have a service manual if someone can tell me what it need it would be very helpful

Have a squeaking in drivtrain I believe. Sounds much like a bad u-joint. Squeak gets faster with speed of bike. Recently replaces rear tire. Lubed axle, repacked bearing and change final gear oil. Any ideas as to whats causing noise? Thanks in advance

I think my speedo finally gave up. I have lubed it with white grease lube inside and out and lubed the cable with graphite. Still whining really bad and now wont go above 20mph. NEone got a spare one to sell me? if it has about 73k, that would be great.
