Hey.. how do I remove the bags from an 83 without the key ? The bags are open, but seem to be locked on the bike. I need to get the bags off so I can remove a hitch from one of my part bikes. I don't want to damage the bags. Do I drill off the locks inside ?

OK.. with the Hannigan conversion you loose the helmet locks that were mounted under the top trunk. What's everyone doing with their helmets when your fully loaded down? Any help appreciated the radio on my 08 RSV locks up randomly - can't change stations or enen shut it off for that matter. Only thing that will do anything is the volume dial. Until I pull into the dealers lot and park then works normal! Frustrating! Ken!

I lost one of the Helmet Locks off of my 2003 Venture. Bought a new one from Yamaha and took it to a locksmith to get it re-keyed to match my other locks. It could not be done. Yamaha has replaced the old lock with one that has an opposite key shape. The old key will not even fit into the new lock....
