The VMX rear gear unit is almost a direct swap on a 2nd gen. It only needs the blank boss milled out for the speedometer sensor. Here I am doing one for Condor. 1) Locate and bore out the main hole. 2) Machine the boss off flat. 3) Locate and drill the mounting bolt hole. 4) Tap in the threads. 5) Chamfer the holes, pull the shock bolt, take it apart and flush the shavings out real well, reassemble and it's ready to mount. -
Hi- looking for a cmu for the 85vr. I can't locate a reason why 3, sometimes 4 warning lights are on as well as the red warning light, so I am down to shotgunning it. Ordered a fuseblock kit from skydoc, and I'd like to locate a cmu in the meantime. I "think" 84-86 will fit but I'm not sure and hate to buy an incompatable one. (if I can even find one). Thanks! I went to go for a late afternoon ride today,(its 65 out in NW Arkansas). While doing my pretrip, I found that I have no:( High beam, I changed the bulb and it still is out. I have no powerr to the bulb from the comp. I know that there is a fix somplace in the 1st gen teck area, but I'm unable to locate it. I would like some smarta$$ remarks and then maybe someone could point me to the tec page on the repair. I do not want to pull the dash so I'm stuck with the rewire,by the way its an 83.

My wife brought home a new lift for me today.I put it together and was ready to load the bike up on it, but when I looked underneath it, I am not sure where to place the lift pads. I am looking at getting one of carbon ones stands, but for now where is the best place to locate the lift? Thanks for the help.

I am wondering if anyone would know where or if you can get a single or multi pouch windshield bag for the 2nd gen RSV's? I saw one in a picture on Diamond R's website in the photo gallery, but am unable to locate one on the web. Any ideas???

There seem to be quite a few posts on this site where the title really gives one no clue as to what the poster is going to say or wants. If I'm in a hurry, and skimming for posts that are most relevant to me, I may miss something. Likewise, after a period of time, if I'm looking for a thread that contained something I needed, it may be hard to locate based on a generically worded title. M&E's even in the planning stages should contain the location and dates. Requests for mechanical help should contain the model of MC in question. And so on. Thank you. End of sermon.

I think it would be neat to have a map that people could add motorcycle events to. It would really help people quickly locate when the next event near them is. To give you an idea of what I'm talking about check out this one of my favorite band's tour dates: http://www.crosscanadianragweed.com/dates/index.php I'm not sure if something like this is doable but I think it would be cool. Also while you are on that map go ahead and locate a Ragweed concert near you and check them out. You wont regret it.

Does anybody know the part # for the trunk lite that replaces the reflector on the back of the trunk????Big bike parts had them,but since they changed their website,they can't seem to locate them without a part #.. I know Show Chrome doesn't make them anymore,so I think this was the only place that had them.. Thanks
