We'll be leaving Hopkinsville, KY Thursday morning, taking the Western KY Parkway to Elizabethtown. 1st question is would I-65 to Louisville and I-71 be better than continuing on the Bluegrass Parkway to Lexington and I-75 north? 2nd question is what about taking US-27 out of Lexington to US-62 to meet I-71 south of Columbus, OH, thus by-passing Cincinnati?

I'll be in VA the weekend they come, but Annie said to ask where folks would like to meet. Since I know there's a few of the NC members that haven't met them yet we need to find a great place for them to visit at. I'm guessing they aren't coming all the way to the coast, but she did say anywhere. I figure somewhere in the middle might be the easiest. Could have a group introduce them to some NC BBQ in Lexington maybe. Someone let me know where you'd like it to be and I'm sure Annie and Al will be following this. It's Father's day weekend 17 & 18. So come on NC we need a meet for Annie. Margaret

My wife and I are leaving for Vogel on Wed morning from Lexington via I75 through KY and TN. Anyone headed south that would like to meet up and travel together? We'll probably leave Lexington around 8:00 AM. Dennis

Well now, I'm going to be flying up to Cleveland OH Friday and picking up a 2001 Venture. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g158/jbmaynard/Yamaha%20Venture/CarMotorcycleOct2008032.jpg So I want to take a pretty direct route from Chardon OH to Cleveland GA, but I want to avoid the interstates and enjoy some nice roads. I'll be nursing a bad shock, so I'm not looking for the best twisty roads, just some nice backroads, small towns, and scenic byways. I haven't started looking at details for this part of the route yet, but it looks like I'll probably leave Cleveland OH on 42 through Mansfield and skirt west of Columbus. When I get to London take 56 across I-71 to Mt Sterling and pick up 62 skirting east of Dayton and Cincinatti to head for Lexington KY. I'm hoping to get on the road Friday afternoon and ride for a while and find a room somewhere between Cincinatti and Lexington. If I get an early enoug start I'd like to make it to Lexington, but I know that's going to be a stretch. Saturday I'm thinking maybe leave Lexington on 27 south to Somerset and then on into Tennessee and all the way to cross I40 at Harriman TN. Then maybe scoot over to Lenoir City and Sweetwater where I can pick up 68 and head back through Tellico Plains and around Pine Ridge pick up 294 to 64 where I can catch 129 back down to Blairesville and on home to Cleveland GA. I'm open to suggestions for roads to avoiv or roads you recommend. Unfortunately I won't be able to stop and smell the roses and I'll need to be on time to meet a couple of my riding buddies who are going to head north Saturday morning and meet me somewhere around Sweetwater TN and escort me home. Thanks again to Freebird for checking out the bike and everyone who has posted here sharing your experiences and knowledge. You really helped me out and I look forward to meeting you on the road one day soon. James

September 8th I'll be riding off to Indianapolis leaving from the Kennedy Space Center Area. I'll be riding over to US27 then North to the eastside of Tallahassee then north on US19. I'll take US19 north to Albany, GA then US82 west over to GA520 then back north to US27. I'll be going on the westside of Atlanta, GA up to Chattanooga, TN. I'll then take US127 north to the westside of Lexington, KY. I'll then hop on US421 and take it to Madison, IN where I'll take IN7 north to US31 and on into Indianapolis. I plan of taking 3 days and camping on the way. Now, what I would like to know is - does anyone know of any camp grounds around that route that I have choosen? I'm thinking about camping somewhere around Albany, GA. then again somewhere south of Lexington, KY. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Ken
