Was wondering has anyone attempted to make a windshiled out of the same thickness lexan? I have thought about like a Cee Baileys shorter windshield, but I have a sheet of lexan (I think the same thickness as current windscreen) and was wondering if anyone has made thier own. I saw a couple posts somewhere about cutting down the current OEM windscreen.

I need a windshield for my 88 VR:mo money: I looked up Clearview.... Acrylic, $213 plus Precision Plastics is Lexan, $161 plus a few on ebay for $120 or so... Any suggestions? I want an oversized one. 24" tall and as wide as will fit! What are the pros and cons of the different materials? (Acrylic, Lexan, Lucite, ?????)

Since I bought my new 1997 RS I have problem with the small piece of Lexan they call Winshield. I'm 5'10" and it seems to be more a deflector (IT cachs all the wind and send it too my chestt and face). There is no brand, and I'm quite sure is not an Yamaha OEM, since the brackest are more like the National Cycle stile than the originals. Yesterday searching for any mark or logo on the Lexan, I found a code NC136 (A confirmation of National Cycle may be?) but nothing else. Some one else has the same kind of winshield on the Royal Star. This is about 11" on top of the notch for the headlight.. I would like to know where and what to order for replacement before to buy a full new tall Yamaha one. Thanks

As the temperatures have been falling the past week or two, there has been a distinct chill in the air. Makes for an invigorating ride! However, with the lower temperatures, I have found when I run through some spots with a temperature change, the windshield fogs up. This may have happened with my Suzi, I don't recall, but I looked over the top of the windshield so it wasn't an issue. Now though it can be kinda scary when suddenly your visibility goes to 20'. Has anyone found a good Lexan cleaner that will prevent fog? Randy

On a recent trip through Wyoming we talked to some people from Canada who had an ingenious Lexan cover over their headlight to protect it from road debris. Does anyone know where I can find one? thanks in advance.

How to remove the Windshield? 2000 XVZ 1300
Guest posted a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Hi, I really need to cut my windshield down. Couldn't see a thing in the sun and almost crashed. They should change the angle or something. Gonna get some smoked Lexan and make a cool shorty. Anyway what do I have to do remove to get the windshield off, and in what sequence? It's the full-dresser model with the retro dashboard. PKslice (AKA Geets)
