Just trying to think ahead a little. Would you guys and gals who joined us for the last one, and to anybody who would like to join in on all the fun for the next Leaf Looker Run, be interested in doing it on the first weekend of October? Last fall we did it on the second weekend and I kind of thought that we may have missed the peek a bit. Also, I have to work that weekend, If we can do it the first weekend than I only have to take off one day. Either way, I CAN"T WAIT! Apple orchards, VR members, and brats, OH MY! Thanks, Bill

Hello all you leaf lookers out there. "And ones that just want to go for a ride in some beautiful SW Wisconsin roads." Here is the low down, Ken (AKA 920Shrek1), Lisa and I were in La Crosse, WI last weekend for the Midwest Motorcycle Rally. We road a bunch of roads with GREAT valley and bluff views. When we stopped for the night over dinner we thought how great it would be to see some of these same roads / valleys and bluffs in the fall. The "Crooked River Resort" just south of Reedstown, WI, "in the beautiful Kickapoo valley", has 19 rooms and a few cabins. Room rates would be $65 a night and Cabins would very in cost depending on occupancy. The restaurant is open and even has a "beer / wine" bar. I talked with Susan "the owner and she seems like a real nice lady," she says that they are very "biker" friendly and just had the whole 19 rooms rented out to a bunch from Minnesota this past weekend. I asked when she thought the best time for "leaf look-in" would be and she thought the first or second week of October . So, Ken, Lisa and little old me thought we would just see if any others would be interested? Thinking of getting there Thursday afternoon, Ride on Friday and again on Saturday and then back to home on Sunday. Lisa and I may rent a cabin so we could all sit and have a beer or 10 around a nice warm fire after the days ride. Check out the link I posted and let us know if anyone else would be interested and which weekend 7th to 10th or 14th to 17th. I can get a block of rooms and such if needed. Ok I'll try not to get to long winded with this. Just bought a new HF trailer and have read several of the post on here about what you should do before using . 1- repack bearings ( is that by hand or do you fill hub with grease through grease sert?). 2- use 4 3/8 washers on tounge coupler . 3- make sure tounge is straight so trailer pulls and tracks atraight. Things not sure about ? 1 - what tire pressure is everyone running in tires. 2- did everyone leave both leaf springs in on both sides or did anyone just use 1 leaf spring. 3 - did anyone put a cooler rack on the front and if you did , did you make the tounge longer or use the 1 that came with it . The reason I bought trailer was because someone hit me last year in Albeq New Mexico and the frame to my whiskey barrell trailer was totaled and didn't have time to fix before we leave for Tenn in 6 weeks . ( should have listened to better half and not waited untill last min to fix it ). If I have forgot anything please someone remind me .

I have a 2 cycle leaf blower that I haven't run in 2 years - it starts just fine but wants to shut down after a few minutes - perhaps Carb cleaner ?? it has fresh gas mixture with some of the OLD gas. screwed up didn't I ??

There was a thread started by Doug about drying the bike with a leaf blower. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3984 What I would like to know is what kind of blowers do you folks use. We were at Lowes yesterday and there is so many choices and different MPH of wind speed. Freebird mentioned he has an 18 volt cordless, I have seen them from 120 MPH to better than 200 MPH. I like the idea of a cordless but would like to know who has the least MPH one that drys the bike well. I dont have any leaves to blow so I dont need a balls out unit. ....looking forward to some insite here
