  1. Could this be Cowpuc's new traveling buddy??
  2. Has everyone turned in their completed Tax forms? Ron and I will be married 40 years in June. During this time, we have ridden our Honda 350 and also our Honda 500 downtown April 14th, about 11:30 at night many times. They used to have this poor Postal Worker standing there with this huge mail dumpster. We were not alone, there usually was a large stream of cars. Usually we were the only motorcycle. As we have grown older, I did notice procrastination could possibly be entering the picture. I have mentioned several times, that sense he is retired, he could figure out the paperwork perhaps in February or March. This way he would not have to stay inside working at the kitchen table with his calculator to the wee hours of the morning. He agreed completely. Last night, he was up until after Midnight. The kitchen table is covered with papers. He somehow lost our son's paperwork, but then it was found somewhere else in the house. I am not one to say, I TOLD YOU SO! No really I did not say it. I just smile and go outside. Yama Mama:smile5:
  3. Do NOT polish boots on kitchen counter!
  4. Its been nearly 5 months workng on remodeling my basement apt. Sealed Cement Floor, New Paint, New Wood Floor and Carpet/Pad; New Shower doors, New Kitchen Island. Now I can get my VR ready for some summer fun. Progressive Springs, New Lights, amd misc gadgets to add.
  5. I just finished talking with my friend in Bozeman, Montana He said that since early this morning the snow has been waist high and is still falling.... His wife has done nothing but look through the kitchen window. He says that if it gets much worse, he may have to let her in... :rotf:
  6. Well, closest to the very first remembrances: I was still in diapers, and had crawled into the kitchen while the folks were in the playroom. I was so low to the ground, I was fascinated by a line of ants running along the kitchen cabinet base, so I got real low, then somehow I got a taste of the ant poisen (real sweet), so I continued to lick it from the floor, until to my father's surprise! He yelled to my mom to call the doctor, and the doc said for them to feed me a raw egg with warm milk. After I threw that up, I remember getting swatted with a rolled up tv guide (the 5x7 variety) the back page had a cartoon on it. I was sent back to bed!!
  7. After a delay due to rain, we are heading west! YEE HAW! Sleeperhawk got his Zumo installed last night and by the way, Buddy Rich, thanks for getting the cable to us so quickly! Here are pictures of the bike LOADED to the Pony's rear! I tried putting the kitchen sink on, but there Sleeperhawk drew the line! We will keep you posted! Ride safe, Bobbie P.S. The first of many pictures to come!
  8. After that humiliating weekend 73 degrees Saturday with scoots everywhere. I have an idea. I been thinking about putting down a new sub floor in the old house kitchen probably a heavy 3/4 plywood.I got a wheel chair ramp to the side kitchen door see photo below.I use it for first gen maintenance at the camp works nice just ride up on it and drop the center stand. After loosing my A## in my retirement plan it looks like building a new house at the camp is way down the road. So I thought I would widen the front door enough to move the 84 in. Just think ride any time weather permits and don't have to worry about the creek. The 84 would be under lock and key. Hey it's a camp not a house. I just need to rearrange a few things to make room.Short ride to Skid's garage if I need to do some work.I just got one minor problem that might require your help. I got to talk MamaMo into it. Small problem right??? The last time I used the chainsaw to widen the side door on the barn she never forgot it. Hey I only added 4 feet.
  9. Heads up Hoston! Sat. 10th, meet and eat at Bevers Kitchen on Main St. in Chapel Hill 11:00 A. M. Trying to find a central meeting point then ride for about 1 1/2-2 hrs then eat. Or mayby leave it up to individuals to get there however they want and meet at scheduled time to eat. Bevers Kitchen is north of 290 at the Shell station on right like you were heading to Austin. Turn right at Shell station go about 1 1/2 - 2 blks. Bevers Kitchen on left across from old church. Parking is gravel. Food is GREAT, and prices are very reasonable. Hope to see a big bunch of us there. If weather is bad, cage it, just come for good food and fellowship. Will hopefully have something firmed up on ride end of it tonite and will post info. Don H.
  10. I'm looking for a cheap wood burner for the camp. I'm accumulating more fire wood from fallen trees and limbs then we can use in the fire pit. The old house is only 800 sq ft and I'll only heat it when camping on occasional weekends. Got hunting season coming up through December and I like to start spring work projects in March so being able to camp during chilly months is nice. I'm looking at the vogelzang frontiersman that tractor supply sales for $399. It comes with a 110 volt blower and 102,000 btu adequate for 1000 sq ft. I'm not sold on this stove. It's just available close and within budget. Last year there was a run on stoves due to heating cost increases. I can only imagine what this year will be like with fuel cost rising. Next weekend I'm putting a new floor down in the old kitchen and then I'll be ready for a stove. The old kitchen had a wood burning cook stove years ago and thats where this one will go.The master bedroom is next to the kitchen so I could curtain off the living room and spare bedroom to reduce necessary heating space. I got a wheelchair ramp right to the front kitchen door. Makes for rolling a first gen in easy. An other ideas on stoves?
  11. This is a very short video...please watch - it is amazing. I never realized that a wet dishcloth can be a one size fits all lid to cover a fire in a pan! This is a dramatic video (30-second, very short) about how to deal with a common kitchen fire ... oil in a frying pan. Read the following introduction, then watch the show .. It's a real eye-opener!! At the Fire Fighting Training school they would demonstrate this with a deep fat fryer set on the fire field. An instructor would don a fire suit and using an 8 oz cup at the end of a 10 foot pole toss water onto the grease fire. The results got the attention of the students. The water, being heavier than oil, sinks to the bottom where it instantly become superheated. The explosive force of the steam blows the burning oil up and out. On the open field, it became a thirty foot high fireball that resembled a nuclear blast. Inside the confines of a kitchen, the fire ball hits the ceiling and fills the entire room. Also, do not throw sugar or flour on a grease fire. One cup creates the explosive force of two sticks of dynamite. http://randsco.com/index.php/2007/05/30/p442
  12. I just received this from a friend in Utah, and thought it worth sharing with everyone: Hi, Terry! This is a video worth watching. I never realized that a wet dishcloth can be a one-size-fits-all lid to cover a fire in a pan! Tell your whole family about this video. Or better yet, send this to them. Dana Terry
