I have an 83 Venture standard. Would like some ideas about adding some stuff to it. Something like maybe a radio or cb. I purchased this in Feb of this year and put on about 4000 miles on it. Runs great. Plan on changing oil before storing for the winter but have to do it outside as no place else to work on it. Did put a new rear tire on this year so will be ready for spring. Thnaks for any and all advice. Kirk

Was cleaning the motorcycle and noticed the gear shift shaft would move in and out a little bit is this normal? It is an 83 Standard. Thanks Kirk

I want to order out a set of Elite 3s but can't find any one with a rear tire that matches the number in the manual. I've checked Dennis Kirk, Jake Wilson, Directline, Motorcycle superstore, and some others. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Steel Horse Cowboy is looking for a set of Roadhouse slip on 2 into 1 pipes for his 1999 Royal Star Venture. I have checked a few places and have come up with nothing so far. I would appreciate any help finding these. Thank You ..... C.R here is the Thread I started back in 2008. I did get them from Dennis Kirk. http://venturerider.org/forum/search.php?searchid=2399498&pp=25&page=3 It might be possible that they do not make them for your bike anymore. I am still looking though. My pipes came with the slash cut tips. I turned them to point down. Fuzzy

I am a new guy to the site. I have a 1983 venture that I would like to put a radio in. Had a friend find me a stock radio with intercom to install. Now what else do I need? Radio looks like it was just unplugged from the motorcycle it came off of. No wires or anything. Thanks. Kirk

YATT - Yet Another Tire Thread OK...really this one isn't about which is best. I'm getting ready for a trip to South Dakota and am shopping for new tires. I have a small cut in my front tire (very small) and was going to replace it anyway, but yesterday I got a flat on the back of my Dunlop Elite 3 tire. So this next go around I have decided I am going to buy some of the Avon Venom tires. But the problem lies in shopping at the various vendors...NO ONE has the same catalog numbers and even searching the manufacturers number will not find the tires. I have a 2009 RSV-s. I want to replace both the front and back on the bike. I have checked the following sites: Dennis Kirk - Found some Venoms once...then nothing now. Jake Wilson - manufacturer catalog number does not work. Southwest Moto - Not sure if these are the right ones. Dang CONFUSING is what it is.... OK...at SWmoto tires is this the correct rear tire? http://www.swmototires.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=568&category_id=94&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53 And this the front tire: http://www.swmototires.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=555&category_id=94&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53 These are cheaper at Jake Wilson and Dennis Kirk...but GEESH. If anyone could provide the exact catalog numbers (or links) to both the FRONT and REAR tires for the AVON VENOMS from Dennis Kirk and Jake Wilson...I would appreciate it. Also...should I also get new valve stems?

If anyones has the 2009 Denis Kirk Catalog look on page 252 in the lower left corner. There is a pic of the rear of a RSV with some unusual added marker light and side bag guard rails. Has any one seen this type of guards or lights before?

Connecting the Front Air Forks on the Second Generation Venture Here is a link to this kit at Dennis Kirk. http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp;jsessionid=VFN5LLHK4G5JLLA0WTVSM4VMDK0NCIV0?store=Main&skuId=58318 One of the least expensive but best modifications I have made to my '99 Royal Star Venture was the addition of this "Air Fork Balance Kit". As those of you who own the new Venture know, the front forks are separate and the maximum air pressure is 7 psi. It is very difficult to get the pressure equal and that is where this kit comes in handy. The kit is made by Progressive Suspension and is available from Dennis Kirk. The part number is 58318 and the price is $23.99. You can order it by calling Dennis Kirk at 1-800-328-9280 and using the part number listed. Installation is simple and requires only about 15 minutes. You simply remove the valve stem cores from the existing valves, screw these two caps onto the existing valve stems, connect them with the included tubing and you are done. http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/MVC-001F.jpe Right Side. Look closely and you can see where the connecting tube hooks to the small nylon nipple. http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/MVC-002F.jpe Right Side Again. http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/MVC-003F.jpe and again............ http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/MVC-004F.jpe Left side. Again, you can see the tube which connects to the right side. I ran it behind the rubber handlebar dampers so you don't really see it unless you are really looking. http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/MVC-005F.jpe This is what you see from the drivers seat. Here are the simple instructions for installation. http://www.venturerider.org/frontbalance/airbalance_files/afbk_diag.gif
