so i am just kinda curious as to how old the average venture rider is, most say i am too young to ride an "old man bike" since i am only 19 but im sure im not the only one out there.

The fairing I won on Ebay didn't work out so I'm still looking for one for my 2007 RSTD. Does anyone have a Reckless fairing on their Royal Star. If so does it fit high on the bike? In the pictures on the website it looks like it fits kinda upright and away from the handle bars. I would appreciate any input. Also, has anyone put one of those handlebar stereo systems on their bike? What kind?

Hi everyone.I have had it with people tailgating me on my bike.I have actually had some so close all I could see was the hood of the car.But I finally found a way to get them to back off.May sound kinda gross to some of you but I have done it three times now and each time it has worked.I just kinda flip my head back and sideways a bit as I spit over my shoulder.Don't know if it is actually hitting the windshield or they see me and realize what I am doing ,but all three times I have done it they back off real quick and one even flipped me the bird as I pulled into the turn lane as they passed me.I may survive going down but I really don't want to be run over by a car following too close if I do go down.

My tach works, but it's "slow" to respond, for lack of a better term. It doesn't respond to quick rpm changes, and once I get cruising in 5th gear it finally catches up to the engine after a couple minutes. Kinda weird symptoms. Anybody ever see this? I did try to search threads but didn't see anything similar.

Progressive Springs.....Is this a need for the second generation bikes or something that was upgraded and is only used on the first generation bikes? Information comes up some on the first generation bikes. I weigh around 275 - 285 lbs, 5' 11" tall. So kinda large fellow. I have noticed my bike being a little to soft or springy kinda jumpy on a hard pushing right or left lean curve. Maybe I just need to do the air shock stabilizing mod to the front forks. I need a pump just for this. Next on my need to get list. Fuzzy

2000 RSV - I was told the intercom system has never been used on the bike. I'm looking at getting a pair of headsets for wife and I. Not sure what to look for. Are they available kinda like headphones so I don't have to mount into a helmet. Is the plug-in connector a standard connector? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

My new to me Chrsler Sebring Convertiable has developed it's first glitch. Now the Air bag dash board indicator light keeps coming on, then goes out, then comes back on with a ping warning sound everytime it comes back on. About every 30 to 60 seconds. Does anyone know why it may do this and can tell me how to make it quit doing that. The regular pingging sound is kinda a pain in the arse.

I'm kinda a weather nut so I'm always interested in things having to do with earth changes. Some of you may have heard of the happenings in Turkey, but I've never seen anything like what's happening right now. Check out http://quakes.globalincidentmap.com/ A couple of 7+'s and a bunch of 5's in the last couple of hours. Wonder what's going on???

Steve, if your up in the area can you see if the US-1 restaurant (the old sly fox) in S. Daytona is still open? A friend tried going there Friday night and it was closed. He said it didnt look abandoned but had a closed sign in the window. Kinda unusual for a Fri night. Dont make a special trip but if you just happen to head north, please check it out. Thanks, Jeff:smile5:

Heading up to New Brunswick when we saw this making a U-turn in the middle of the highway while all traffic was ordered to stop (police escort). I took this while we were doing 60 miles an hour and with my phone but still - kinda neat, huh? http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/580857270XyGoRN?vhost=outdoors

Took a break from everything today, kinda. Got my Silverwing out and had some fun. Put 230 miles on her and used 4 gallons of gas. What a blast. Hooked up with some other riders out just cruising around for a while and overall had a good day. Also got to check my brakes out real good when a truck pulled out in front of me, but kinda predicted it so I was ready. All in all it was a great day.I am certian that if it had been the Venture it would have been a longer ride though. Just had to share. Shaun

I know this is kind of an odd subject to be bringing up on a motorcycle forum but I've seen a few posts on the subject so I know there is some knowledge here. So, I'm asking for opinions. My co-pilot found, fell in love with and bought a Smith & Wesson P frame .38 bodyguard that she plans to carry in her purse or a fanny pack. Our other pistol is a S&W .38 with a 5 inch barrel, not all that CC able. I kinda like the P frame but I'm not sure its the one for me, the grips are kinda small and I have large hands. So I'm askin' for ideas on what else to try my hand at. I plan to carry whatever it is in my boot or inside my waistband. Oh, in case it makes a difference, I'm a lefty. I really don't want to end up in a situation where she plays the role of the cavalry. I'd never hear the end of it if she did.

Hi Folks, I'm considering buying a trailer to pull behind my scoot. I found one that is kinda cool. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n163/coy55boy/83%20Venture%20trailer%20hitch/beertrailer.jpg But, it's got (what I consider to be) an odd sorta hitch. Does anybody know what this is called and more importantly where do I find the mating half? http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n163/coy55boy/83%20Venture%20trailer%20hitch/hitch.jpg

My mother passed away, this morning about 6 o'clock. She went into ER last Wed morn. Drs have been fighting for her since then. They were going to take her off the ventilator this morn, and let her breathe on her on at 7. Evidentally, her heart couldn't hold out. Kinda makes my birthday tomorrow a real bummer, but this is the way it has to be.She's in alot better place, and shes with our dad again.

Kinda suits in this case. Brad

We rode up to Kentucky today to check up on and cleanup our family cemetery. It wasn't in too bad of shape, as local relatives there take fairly good care of it. It's in the middle of moonshine country. Kinda remote, and on top of a hill. Longest ride I've had with my son, and his girlfriend rode back with me. She may never get back on his GS850....lol. All went well, except that we are now replacing his stator. Good thing I kept the parts bike. Kinda hot on the trip back though. 6 hours round trip.
