Ok I have BATTERY /charging or lack of it on my bike.. I've checked the battery it's good, I've checked and there is NOTHING drawing...& 13.5 -14.2 charging.. Well wife & I went a cple day ride & sure enough we go out Sunday morning & the bike wont crank....135 miles from home and NO1 round I do what any man would do.... I walk acoss to KMART and by a 500 cold cranking jump box...and hope n pray it is charged enough to JUMP the bike off...well it does...we ride almost 130 miles & i stop for gas kill the bike fill it up & it wont start... i was like WTH... jump it off.... well we stop several times after and bike cranks.. I go out this morning NOTHING....now my battery isn't 6 months old... matter of fact it's the 2nd battery i've bought in a yr .....now I'm looking at a HIGH output stator or open to suggestions.... uggggg don't know what or where to turn....

I have just recently begun to experience a jump or pop from the drivetrain under moderately heavy acceleration. I first thought it was coming from the rear end as I have had it happen in both first and second gear. Nothing is whining or grinding. I pulled the final drive apart after work and no problems there. I am now beginning to suspect the middle gears may be jumping a tooth under acceleration, but from everything that I have read so far they rarely have problems. I am open to any suggestions. -
Don't find many heroes like this one!!!! On January 9th, a group of Pekin, Illinois bikers were riding west on I-74 when they saw a girl about to jump off the Murray Baker Bridge . So they stopped. David, their leader, a big burly man of 50, gets off his Harley, walks through a group of gawkers, past the State Trooper, and says, "What are you doing?" She says, "I'm going to commit suicide." While he didn't want to appear "sensitive," he didn't want to miss a be-a-legend opportunity either so he asked ... "Well, before you jump, why don't you give me a kiss?" So, with no hesitation at all, she leaned back over the railing and did just that ... and it was a long, deep, lingering kiss followed immediately by another one. After they finished, David gets approval from his biker-buddies, the onlookers, and even the State Trooper, and says, "Wow! That was the best kiss I have ever had Honey! That's a real talent you're wasting Sugar Shorts. You could be famous if you rode with me. Why are you committing suicide?" "My parents don't like me dressing up like a girl." It's still unclear whether she jumped or was pushed. :cool10:

Hey Folks, Yesterday I was in a local Yamaha dealership and the manager told me that today, June 6th, Yamaha will be revealing to their dealers what the new bike lineup will be for 2013. Since I won't be back to that dealer for a week or so, I thought i would jump on here and ask if anyone has heard any news as to whether Yamaha is going to be doing any upgrades on the 2013 Venture? Anybody have a scoop on this?

Hey All. Just purchased a 86 Venture Royale in pretty nice shape for a sweet price ($400.00 bones). I drove her home and knew the battery was questionable but i ran it dwn while messin with it? I cant even figure out how to get to the battery! Is there an easy way or is there any place on the bike to quickly jump the battery??? Tnx, RR

Going to ride up to Ashville/Cherokee Wednesday night then Thursday morning jump on the Parkway in Cherokee to NC 18 on to Sparta then 21 to my brothers house in Virginia. I know it snowed in Va Saturday any bad spot on the Pway? Jumping off at Sparta becasue its closed right there for about 10 miles. My Brother and I will jump back on around Fancy Gap on Friday and go as far north as we can. If any one wants to meet up along the way or has any advisors please give me a shout.

Just bought a 2000 Royal Star Venture. Everything works like a dream. Only issue that I seem to have is that the CB will not come on. When I push the CB button, nothing happens. Anything jump out that I might need to check first before I bring it to the dealer? Does the CB have separate fuses? Thanks, Jason

Hey everyone, My bike is having some starting problems, or rather, a starting problem. Yesterday, I went out to start the bike and nothing would turn on, when I turned the ignition. I hooked up some jumper cables and was able to jump the bike. I took it into work, there I went to start it to go home, and the same thing. Except this time it wouldn't take a jump. A few things: 1) The lights on the instrument panel are not turning on, nor any of the electronics (headlights, tail light), when I turn the ignition. 2) The battery is completely charged, I tested it and it is at 100%. 3) We tried to roll start it, and it started up, but it was not firing on all cylinders, nor would it create enough electicity to turn on the instruments or lights. I've got a question for those that have had their stators jump off the crankshaft when they've left the puller on overnight. When I started to pull mine, I loosened the attachment bolt several turns, then attached my puller with 100mm long bolts. I don't see how it could jump off--it still has the attachment bolt that'll stop it in 1/8" or so. You would have to remove the bolt completely for it to jump off, but what would you push on?? Of coures as of this morning when I left for work mine still hadn't come loose. Am I missing something?? Also, what is special about the PCW Racing puller that make it cost so much?? It says that it's guaranteed to pull the rotor first try. The only difference I see is that the bolts that you screw into the rotor have that piece on them that keeps them straight. Frank

Has anyone ever gone to Bridge Day in West Virgina? People free fall from the New River Gorge Bridge. 800 and something feet high. Oh I do not plan to jump myself, unless Ron pushes me off the bridge. It says it is the biggest festival in West Virginia! Picked the bike up at dealer after getting a new tire. Dead battery so we jumped it at the dealer and she ran fine. Stopped at the store, (15 mile ride) would not start again but would jump start. Now at home, I charged the battery, have full lights and all but when I try to start, nothing, not even when jumping from a good battery. I have made sure the kill switch is in run but no go. I don't hear the fuel pump run either. Battery is 6 years old but I'm thinking it should at least jump start if there is any juice left. It doesn't appear to be the same symptoms as the ignition switch, which from what I read leaves just the radio operable, no lights or anything else. I will be getting a fresh battery but really I would think it should at least jump start. I leave this to the gurus out there!

I am fixing to head out for my first ride this year. Will probably only be 2-3 hours but I am EXCITED ! I just put the HD clutch spring upgrade in last month so will be looking forward to see the results. I do have a question. I decided to jump on the Rotella T band wagon. The thing is I bought the white jug instead of the blue. Will that hurt anything having the non synthetic for one change cycle?

The wife tore me apart one last night, for walking through the house with my boots on again. So I decided to jump on the bike and go for a quick spin, to cool down... Boy, that pissed her off even more!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
