My wife and I are taking a long weekend memorial day and are looking at the Johnson City area. Any suggestions about places to ride and see there?

As for now, Bob and Becky are planning on being in Johnson City, Tn this Thursday evening around 7PM. We hope to get some of the locals and anyone else that would like to meet up for a get together and have a visit and a meal. The location has not been picked yet and am open for suggestions. For anyone that wants to get together, please let me know so we can put something together. If my number is not in your phone, it is in my profile. RandyA

En route from the ATL to W.VA, my '99 RSV is experiencing some electrical problems. The scoot crapped out in Greenville SC, so I replaced the battery, and all seemed to be OK. Then it happened again up here in Erwin TN, so I'm thinking it might be the stator. Any suggestions on dealers or repair locations up here in the Johnson City area that I can contact tomorrow morning? I'm hole up here in a Holiday Inn Express, riding out the bad storms tonight. FYI, my cell is 770-364-4393 if anybody has any ideas. Thanks.

A cop stops a biker for traveling faster than the posted speed limit, so he asks the biker his name. ' Fred, ' he replies. ' Fred what? ' the officer asks. ' Just Fred, ' the man responds. The officer is in a good mood and thinks he might just give the biker a break and, write him out a warning instead of a ticket. The officer then presses him for the last name. The man tells him that he used to have a last name but lost it. The officer thinks that he has a nut case on his hands but plays along with it. ' Tell me, Fred, how did you lose your last name? ' The biker replies, ' It ' s a long story, so stay with me. ' I was born Fred Johnson. I studied hard and got good grades. When I got older, I realized that I wanted to be a doctor. I went through college, medical school, internship, residency, and finally got my degree, so I was Fred Johnson, MD.. After a while I got bored being a doctor, so I decided to go back to school. Dentistry was my dream! Got all the way through school, got my degree, so then I was Fred Johnson, MD , DDS. Got bored doing dentistry, so I started fooling around with my assistant and she gave me VD, so now I was Fred Johnson, MD, DDS, with VD. Well, the ADA found out about the VD, so they took away my DDS. Then I was Fred Johnson, MD, with VD. Then the AMA found out about the ADA taking away my DDS because of the VD, so they took away my MD leaving me as Fred Johnson with VD. Then the VD took away my Johnson, so now I am Just Fred. '

A fine young man and co-worker bought WAY too much motorcycle as his 1st ever street bike. I think it was a 1000+cc crotch rocket. He had it 2-3 days before, it was reported, he lost it because of gravel on the road and he hit a light pole. Obituary from the Jackson, MS newspaper Adam Johnson, 22, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at University Medical Center in Jackson from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Visitation will be 4-8pm today at Harmony Baptist Church. Services will be 11am Monday, April 5, 2010 at Harmony Baptist Church with burial in Harmony Cemetery. Adam was born in Jackson and lived all of his life in Crystal Springs where he was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church where he was also saved at the age of 9. After graduating from Union Academy, he got a degree in heavy equipment dealer service technology from South Georgia Technical College. Adam was the first Puckett Equipment employee to graduate with this degree. He married his first love, Kayla Pino Johnson July 25, 2009. Adam loved life and lived it to the fullest and always spoke words of encouragement to those around him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and extended family. He loved working in his shop, mud racing, fishing, four wheeler riding and most of all, spending time alone with his wife. He loved his work with Puckett Machinery as a heavy equipment dealer service technician with whom he had worked and attended school for the past 5 years. Adam was preceded in death by his maternal grandfathers, Walter Barlow, Sr. and his paternal grandfather, J. W. Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Kayla Pino Johnson; parents, Eddie and Sue Johnson of Crystal Springs; brother, Alex Johnson of Crystal Springs; maternal grandparents, Peggy and Paul Hunter of Crystal Springs; paternal grandparents, Doris and Seyburn Ball of Crystal Springs.

I received the following information from ReineyRooster. Please keep the friends and family in your prayers. Though Al may have just joined to help out with the Rally, he DID post here a number of times and as with any of our members will be missed. From ReinyRooster Don, a very good friend of mine, Al Johnson died December 19th and was laid to rest December 23, 2008. He joined this club just to become a member so that he could help us organize and run the VentureRider rally that we held in Kitchener this year, and was in charge of the t-shirt sales until he become to ill to handle it. His handle was "King of squirrels".
