  1. OK folks...here is what I have at this time for the VR Guardian Bells. I spoke to the manufacturer yesterday and the model is done. He is emailing me a photo of the wax model tomorrow and then said that it should take more than 3 or 4 days to get them cast. So...I figure that by the time he gets them shipped to me and I get them shipped to you, it will probably be another couple of weeks before you actually receive them. Please check this list and verify that I have received your order. If you are not listed, it means I either missed your order when compiling the list or I have not yet received your order. Please let me know if you are not listed here and thought that you had ordered. As you can see, the orders have come in very nicely. I am very pleased with the response to this and thank ALL of you for not leaving me sitting on a bunch of these. If my calculations are correct, I still have about 70 remaining and it's nice to have some on hand for future orders. Also, I can order more at any time and will not have to order the 250 minimum next time. I can probably order them 100 at a time now if I need to. 5. I just purchased some Vmax heads to throw on my 83 venture. I am NOT at least for now putting or even looking to put the 1300cc motor in. My question is what would be the best jets (all of them if you know ) to put into my carbs to really wake her up even more without overkilling it. I am willing to throw the cafe style air filters on IF necessary to let her breathe better. ANY insight would help. Thanks in advanced John and Christina

  8. I just caught an article that John Lehman of Lehman trikes passed away. He had recently made arrangements to sell the company, but his life ended to early to enjoy his retirement. http://www.bikerspost.com/forum/topics/john-lehman-founder-of-lehman-trikes-passes Brian
  9. I just received a private message from Bisquit regarding John Nelson (Hipshot). This is all that I know at this time. Please keep him in your thoughts and/or prayers. Just wanted to let you guys know John is in the hospital in Victoria Tx. They're keeping him sedated. They have him on a breathing machine. His doctor has had him on oxygen for several weeks now. He has to fight for every breath. Saw him yesterday, he's resting comfortably. They are running every test known to man as well as taking samples and getting cultures. He's very sick down to 95 lbs a few weeks ago. Hopefully they'll figure out whats wrong and then they'll have a better idea what treatment he needs. He's in ICU so there's a nurse right there. He's being well cared for. Seems like since Jeannie died he's gone downhill fast. I'd appreciate you puttin the word out. All prayers greatly appreciated.

    LOL

I was in the six item express lane at the store quietly fuming. Completely ignoring the sign, the woman ahead of me had slipped into the check-out line pushing a cart piled high with groceries. Imagine my delight when the cashier beckoned the woman to come forward looked into the cart and asked sweetly, 'So which six items would you like to buy?' Wouldn't it be great if that happened more often? John was on his deathbed and gasped pitifully. 'Give me one last request, dear,'he said. 'Of course, John,' his wife said softly. 'Six months after I die,' he said, 'I want you to marry George.' 'But I thought you hated George,' she said. With his last breath John said, 'I do!' Rod
  11. A man driving a pickup truck was driving in the opposite direction when he crossed into their lane hitting them head on. He was speeding and is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. The man responsible for this tragedy was kicked out of a bar not far from where the incident occurred not long before the accident. That man, John P Heaney III was NOT arrested at the scene and has not been charged yet.John P Heaney III is a former Plainfield NJ police officer that retired after a disability claim. He was NOT arrested at the scene. I'm sure that if he plowed into a mother with her children or a group of kids on bicycles he would still be sitting in a jail cell. But he just hit a group of bikers. Please read this: http://bikersofameric...http://img1.meetupstatic.com/img/clear.gif Please feel free to forward it to anybody that you wish. We need to do all that we can to make sure that the man that caused this accident with his careless actions does not get away with drunk driving - and causing an accident that left two wives without their husband, and their children without a father. The Robot

John was a salesman's delight when it came to any kind of unusual gimmicks. His wife, Marsha, had long ago given up trying to get him to change. One day John came home with another one of his unusual purchases. It was a robot that John claimed was actually a lie detector. It was about 5:30 that afternoon when Tommy, their 11 year old son, returned home from school. Tommy was over 2 hours late. "Where have you been? Why are you over 2 hours late getting home?" asked John. "Several of us went to the library to work on an extra credit project," said Tommy. The robot walked around the table and slapped Tommy, knocking him completely out of his chair. "Son," said John, "this robot is a lie detector, now tell us where you really were after school." "We went to Bobby's house and watched a movie." said Tommy. "What did you watch?" asked Marsha. "The Ten Commandments." answered Tommy. The robot went around to Tommy and once again slapped him, knocking him off his chair. With his lip quivering, Tommy got up, sat down and said, "I am sorry I lied. We really watched a tape called Sex Queen." "I am ashamed of you son," said John. "When I was your age, I never lied to my parents." The robot walked around to John and delivered a whack that nearly knocked him out of his chair. Marsha doubled over in laughter, almost in tears and said, "Boy, did you ever ask for that one! You can't be too mad with Tommy. After all, he is your son!" The robot walked around to Marsha and knocked her out of her chair.
  13. We could all learn so much from this elegant and gracious lady. You might recall that John Hinckley was a seriously deranged young man who shot President Reagan in the early 1980's. Hinckley was absolutely obsessed with movie star Jodie Foster, and in his twisted mind, loved Jodie to the point that to make himself well known to her, he attempted to assassinate President Reagan. There is speculation Hinckley may soon be released as having been rehabilitated. Consequently, you will appreciate the following letter from Nancy Reagan to John Hinckley: To: John Hinckley From: Mrs. Nancy Reagan My family and I wanted to drop you a short note to tell you how pleased we are with the great strides you are making in your recovery.. In our country's spirit of understanding and forgiveness, we want you to know that we bear no grudge against you for shooting President Reagan. We are fully aware that mental stress and pain could have driven you to such an act of desperation. We're confident that you will soon make a complete recovery and return to your family to join the world again as a healthy and productive man. Best wishes, Nancy Reagan & Family P.S. While you have been incarcerated, Barack Obama has been banging Jodie Foster like a screen door in a tornado. You might want to look into that. :hurts::hurts::hurts:
  14. I talked to my friend and fellow member John Gibson (Raceman62race) today who informed me he is now a member of that club that nobody want's to join but some of us are inducted to. The Rider Down Club. Evidently on the way home yesterday he was waiting at a light when a mini-van coming up on his right side tried to make a left turn, careened off a couple of vehicles before hitting him on his right side ejecting him off his bike and wipeing out the right side of his 2nd gen Venture. He is alright, relatively speaking, and did not break anything after hitting the ground hard. He said he was pretty sore and was on the way to his doctor for pain meds for bruised hip and side. John is a good friend and a super guy if you've met him. He thinks his bike may be totalled and I'm asking for your prayers and well wishes for his speedy recovery and bike settlement with the insurance company so he can be back riding on two wheels soon.
  15. All, This was my first MD get together. I have to say, this group of folks have to be the nicest bunch I've met in a long time. People would ask if they could help while I was doing some routine maint on my bike... "can I hold that for you ?, need a hand ?", mostly without asking. I'm sorry, I don't remember members names much, but you know who you are... Thanks for the help and going out of your way a new member feel like he's part of the group. John
  16. Just want to wish all going to Freebird's MD a safe trip. Wish I could be there, but off to California this morning to see my Sister who is battling lung cancer. The bike is all loaded should be out the door in about 10 mins. So all have fun. If everything goes alright I will see some of you at the Hub end of July. John

  19. Is anyone going from the Chicago area ? Maybe ride together ? John
  20. Sorry to start this again but found out my dealer has been using Spectro 10w40 for oil changes. So far I haven't had a problem with it and there's very little whine. Anyone else use it. I would like some thoughts or concerns with the oil since I can't find much info on the web about it. I'm thinking of changing to Rotella 15w40 and doing the changes myself. Thanks in advance John
  21. A friend has a 2 year old John Deere L140 for sale. It has a snow blade and chains with it. When he told me about it I was really wanting it but I decided I had better research it first. It has a Briggs 23 horse 2 cylinder motor. When I started looking for reviews on the web all I found were complaints. But then somebody looking at this forum might think the Venture was a terrible motorcycle when it is not. Who has personal experience with this tractor and what do you think. How old and how many hours?
  22. So, you guys are pretty knowledgeable, i thought i would ask here. if this is too far off topic, feel free to delete it, and i appoligize in advance. I got a free john deere sx95 mower, with a 38'' deck. the problem i have is, the PO took it apart for some unknown reason because it didn't run. well, it didn't run because he didn't have some connectors actually.. you know.. connected. so anyhow. the problem is, I don't know how to route the new belt i have. it's on there how it seems to need to be, but the tensioner isn't functioning properly or something, because it's not tight enough. i've looked at JDparts.com but the overall setup is still sort of vague. I was hoping somone here might have this mower that would be willing to take a pic if the tensoner(s) setup? i would be eternally grateful. thanks in advance. - Jared
  23. Freezyrider just called me with the news that one of our friends just crashed near Madison, In. Joe and Donna, Kevine (Leadwolf56) and Sue, Lynn and Janice and John and Teresa left Lexington this morning on their way home and they hit a slick spot near Madison and John and Teresa went down and hit a guard rail. They think Teresa may have a broken leg and they are at the hospital in Madison as I write this. Please remember them in your prayers this Memorial Day. Thanks, Dennis
