I am finally insulating and drywalling my garage, all hung and all I have is a little mud and taping to do. The wife wants to finish the garage floor, I stopped by a friends yesterday and he said don't do it. I do work on things in my garage and use a jack. . . He tells me the painted and epoxy floor surfaces won't hold up to jacks and turning tires. The question is has anyone put some finish on their garage floors, what type and how does it hold up to moving jacks, shop tools on rollers or wheels . . .

I found rather coming behind the trike (lower profile). It was much easier to come in with the jack from the left/right side front fenders. it also gives you the room to plant a couple jack stands as well. Just come in from the direction shown and place the jack(s) under the shock bolt area. when coming in from that direction it allows you to be able to place the jack in the front on the other bar. when I remove both wheels I still leave both jacks in place and add the jack stands for saftey. These are $16 dollor jacks from your favorite Auto Store. While all the tires are off I plan on using POR-20 in the Exhaust extensions And cleaning everything up under there. I will post the POR-20 job next week. Enjoy. I've been watching Craigslist off and on to see what pops up for a Motorcycle Work/lift Table. I get a lot of listings for plane ol' MC Jacks when searching. It got me to thinking.... again.. Why do manufactures of quote 'MC Jacks' make them where they all need an adapter to fit the frame of a bike. Why can't they just build the jack with adjustable frame pads, especially if they're going to label them MC Jacks?? Maybe they should call them NOT MC Jacks??

Got back Sunday after a quick BBQ tour to complete my Smoke Chasing requirements (fund raiser for Eddie's Roads). Ate BBQ in Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana. Left Friday from Fond du Lac, WI at 1:30 in the afternoon and got home Sunday night at 6:30. 1842 miles in 55 hours. Good food, good miles, good times. Here are a couple of pics that highlighted the trip (above and beyond the BBQ). First, was parked between two nice, shiny HDs in front of Jack's BBQ in downtown Nashville, TN. My bike is set up for touring (aux. fuel tank, cables everywhere, etc.) and was dirty from riding in the rain. As I prepare to take off after eating BBQ (Yummm!! Good stuff at Jack's), this young lady asked if she could sit on my bike to get her picture taken. Ummmmm, YEAH!!! Second, on the north side of Chicago, I surpassed the 100,000 mile mark on the Venture. Had to pull over and document the occasion. Just about time to put the bike away and break out the guns. Been a good riding season. RR

I dont plan on hooking up my stereo again but rather go from the turntable to a what? Do I need a pre-amp to digital converter? Can anyone recommend some hardware for a macbook?

Maybe someone can tell me if the Carbon One adapter will work with this floor jack. If so the price is right. http://www.kragen.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=PBI&MfrPartNumber=640753

Just wondering... Where are you all mounting your accessory jacks, or cig lighters? I was looking at the fariing, and not really much room at all to install them through it. I have found a few bar mount models, but DAMN do they think those are made out of gold.. Also, how much spare juice does an 08 Venture have? I know on my Roadstar I don't have much electrical to spare without upgrading the stator.. Will these bikes handle some spare lighting and a heated vest and gloves and such?

I went to the junk yard and got two identical screw jacks and welded them together end to end. The jacks where pretty reasonable. Here are pictures with some measurments.
