Just got an 06 RSV Midnite and couldn't be happier! My son and I are going to be doing some trips this spring and summer. Ready to buy some headsets. I know the Yamaha headsets are made by J&M and I can get a 15% discount on those. How do they compare to the Edsets? I've read a lot of post and not sure which to purchase. Any advice would be appreciated as far as sound quality and wind noise, Reliability etc. What a great site, I look foward to joining. Thanks Scott

We have a JMCB-2003 on Elizabeth's Kawasaki so we can talk on rides. It started acting up on us recently and I contacted their customer service for some help to pinpoint the issue. John Lazzeroni sent me several emails detailing test steps that isolated the problem to the unit itself. He could have told me that it was time for a new one (it was out of warranty), but he had me send it in and they repaired it for less than half what a new one would have cost. They also shipped promptly to get it back to us. While the unit was being repaired we were back using a handheld and throat mike. We had forgotten how frustrating that was. If you are trying to communicate with a bike without the built-in CB, you should give the J&M a look.

I have a question since I'm on the migration from 1st Gen to 2nd Gen: Are the headsets from the 1st Gen working on the 2nd Gen? or I need to purchase new ones? What about the J&M for the 2003? Thanks, :confused24:

If I purchased a J&M JMCB 2003 unit can I use my sirius satalite radio with it? I see a hook up up for a mp3 player and other stuff is this also where I would plug it in? Does anyone know about this system? Joe

I have a J&M headset for my 700 as it doesn't use a boom mic but no headset for the 900 I just bought today. What do you have for your EXO900?

I have J & M headsets and the foam wind socks have fallen apart, anyone have a good cheap source for replacements? J&M wants $7 for 2 ! There's gotta be somewhere better.

SO... I just picked up this Nolan 103 helmet off Ebay, and now I'm looking at possible bluetooth head sets. Nolan makes one, as well as J&M... maybe others??. Both will interface with my GPS or phone. But... I'd like to find an adaptor that would plug into the Audio cord on a 2ndGen, and be able to link to a bluetooth headset eliminating the hardwire. Then I could RX and TX with the CB. Basically that's all I'd use it for as the GPS has an integrated MP3 player. Question... Is a J&M Dongle a bluetooth adapter??

I've had a J&M Elite headset on the shelf for some time. Got a new helmet yesterday and thought I would use it. Had some questions so I E-mailed them about noon today. Got a answer already. Haven't cure my problem yet but was really impressed that I got answer on Sat. that quick. Now to see how they treat me on fixing problem.

Not sure any of you heard. But J&M will be offering a bluetooth dongle to work with their Bluetooth headsets. This will allow for full comm, plus CB, GPS, music etc. But as usual it's expensive - the base bluetooth dongle is 349.00, plus you need the interface harness listed below. They are also producing one for their J&M CB 2003 as well as GL1800, GL1500 and Harley. $600.00 total - but you can cut the cable. From their 2011 Catalog: JBLU-BHDG05 This is a J&M custom BluHub™ dongle05 module featuring our exclusive JMAHP (J&M Motorcycle Audio Headset Profile) Bluetooth®software profile, transmitting true stereo to 1 or 2 J&M Bluetooth headsets, with simultaneous microphone signals transmitted back down to the dongle. When 2 J&M Bluetooth headsets are linked to the dongle05, the continuous helmet-tohelmet intercom feature is activated thru the dongle. Rider and passenger can also each simultaneously link their J&M Bluetooth helmet headsets to their own cell phone or Garmin Zumo, while linked to the dongle05. This dongle05 is used to create a full featured motorcycle audio system, with stereo music, CB/FRS, Navigation commands, cell phone etc available depending upon the capabilities of the external equipment being connected. The J&M Dongle05 is powered by the electrical system on the motorcycle (no batteries in the dongle to charge). This new dongle can be connected to most motorcycle audio system configurations by using one of the special connection harnesses offered as an extra cost accessory to this custom dongle. (see options below) $329.99 JBLU-BHDG05-CA03 for connection to the Yamaha Venture Royale. $249.99 Stu

Good Day As many of you know, from my previous posts and question, I am continually looking to go "WIRELESS" on the bike for communications, audio and CB. Seeing information out, the J&M has included Yamaha wiring harness and "stuff" to make their bluetooth helmet systems work with our bike systems (not everything is Harley or Honda Wings) , has there been any comments, experience or feedback (no jokes here) on their Bluetooth wireless comm system. It is a pricey program, but I am very interested in hearing any comments or experience. I really feel going wireless is the way to go, seeing as technology is moving forward. Many thanks for any comments. Thanks Steve

Last week I called J&M about a headset that was way out of warranty (bought in '07) and that the upper portion of the cable's wire had broken internally. They told me to ship it to them and they would look at it and give me a repair cost. I sent it out Priority mail and in 2 days received an e-mail in the a.m. that they received. Another e-mail later that afternoon that they shipped back a NEW headset !!!! Received it today and I can tell you that their customer service was great. I was looking at a replacement cost of $170-ish. Thanks J&M !! BEER30

Has anyone bought and installed the J&M audio bluetooth setup? I really would like to check this setup out but its like a unicorn. If it worked well I could maybe talk the boss into it. But at a cost of 600.00 or so with both parts there is huge jumping the shark potential! No dealers here in Nebraska and hell if I can find anyone online who even mentions it and how it works. Thanks in advance Frank

Is J&M really the best headset? Is there really any difference between the Elite and the Performance models? Hard to believe there is not another brand out there somewhere that compares.

I bought a J&M 2003B, cb-intercom, its on a 09 RSTD,cb is ok. I also instaled a Jensen JHD910 fm radio that is great except that if i run my J&M intercom volume high enough to talk, it makes a loud hissing-crackling noise, too loud to listen to radio. To use intercom , rider slaps me on helmet telling me to turn FM radio off & intercom on. Talking over the hissing is no prob but for nearly $1000 bucks, I feel that the intercom shouldnt hiss. The FM radio is clear. Anybody else have this prob? Thanks TC

I am going to the store today to buy two new J&M Headsets and lower cords. Does anyone know if there is any REAL difference between the "performance" headset and the "Elite" headset? The price isn't much different, and the descriptions are identical between the two. However, the lower cords are $30 difference between the "P" and "Z" cords. They look identical also. Has anyone here had both, and could tell a difference? Need to know soon, as I'm going to get them in a bit.

I've been looking at purchasing the J&M CB Radio. Does anyone have experience with this product? The only thing I'm concerned about is the dual mode one for two riders with all the necessary wiring, head sets, antinnia can cost up to $700! Any thoughts suggestions? Thanks Mark

I'm close to going with an Edset headset rather than J&M Elite...but am somewhat concerned with the size of the unit hanging off the side of the helmet. My current J&M has just a small unit hanging off it that the cord plugs into. The Edset looks to be quite bulky compared to that. Is this an issue to anyone that has one? or is it worth it?

I was looking at purchasing the J&M radio for my RSTD but I was shocked on how much they cost! I wanted the unit for dual riders and it's $359.00! Is it made of gold or something? Does anyone have any experiece with this unit and how do you like it? Can you give me the Good and the Bad about this unit? Does the am/Fm radio work good? I use a shorty helmet a Scorpin 100 and I was concerned about wind noise and the microphone...is that an issue with this product. Any information, good or bad would be appreciate greatly. Thanks mark:think:

I plan to purchase the N43 trilogy helmet with a J&M headset. I have looked and looked but I can not find out what is the differance between there Elite (584) headset and the Performance (279).. except the price! Do you know? or is there a web site that does a side by side comparison/review. I welcome your inputs toward other headsets. The helmetshop.com has the helmet at $249, the elite headset for $209 and the Performance headset for $180.

I find that my full face Bell works fine in the winter but get's awfully hot in the summer time. Anyone have either of these HJC helmets. Bike Bandit has the FS-3 on clearance sale, I really like the idea of running either a visor or a shield. That being said, I'm wanting to install a J&M headset in whatever I get with little to no cutting on anything on the inside. Also, how is the noise? Also might look at a Nolan N42/N43. Same kinds of questions.

Last week I bought a J&M headset from Chrome World.com and it works OK so I was going to buy the bride one except she has a half helmet and mine is a 3/4 helmet. The one I was looking at for her is J&M HS-G45 it says it is compatible with Goldwing but it doesn't mention Yamaha 5 pin connector. Anyone have one of these and your thoughts please and most of all is it compatible with the RS Venture 2006? Thanks much for the input! Steve
