On an 85 trunk there are two rubber feet that fit in two holes in the mounting rack. This is an 85 only item.. Does anyone have a wrecked trunk from and 85 that I could get these "feet" from?

My wrist is starting to give me trouble and I think it comes from using the throttle on the bike. This item seems to be the solution. Ever use one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/CRAMP-BUSTER-Yamaha-VMax-VStar-V-Max-V-Star-650-1100-/230811191999?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ARoyal+Star&hash=item35bd6b4abf&vxp=mtr

This has somewhat adult content - Was on Yahoo News, but you may not want to explain each little item to your 13 year old - I warned you. Title was supposed to say views swapped, not vies swapped. http://screen.yahoo.com/flip-side-dating-000000612.html Gary

I've been busy dismantling my wrecked 91VR. Before I take this stuff to the dump, I'd though I would give the group a look. Some of you are pretty creative. If you want a closer look at a specific item, just point it out.

Well the auctions will be over in a little over a day..........out of the 11 auctions, only 3 are bid on, and only 1 is over $0.25. Thats right 25 cents.........I guess everyone has all the St. Jude items they need...........The way things are going this year with the fund raising due to the economy, price of gas and so forth and so forth, I may me mailing the donation in instead of making the ride to St. Jude. Maybe I need to come up with something special, one of a kind item to auction, but that will mean spending money to make money and to me at this time its a really big gamble. I do want to thank everyone who has donated and participated in the St. Jude fundraisers.

Several weeks ago, a member posted an item for sale. I responded immediately. A few days later we talked on the phone to clarify some things and agree on a price. Once the total cost with shipping was determined I would then PayPal him. Said Item was never shipped. Several emails, PM's and voice mails later, and almost 3 weeks, still no items or responses, other then 1 post that it would be mailed out in the AM. Now the ad is marked sold. Another voice mail requesting an update...again, no response. So, the only assumption that I can come up with is the item was sold to another. Now, that little bit of background being said, there should be a list of do's and dont's when either buying or selling something in the classifieds. 1: Be honest. If there are any flaws, make them known. I was burned once before like that a long time ago on another cycle forum, even after a phone conversation with that seller who flat out lied to me. 2: Be a man, or woman: If you agree on something, stick to it. If something changes, let the buyer, or seller if your the buyer know. Don't like the price you agreed to? Let the other person know. 3: Be responsive: I know we all have our lives to live and sometimes we get delayed, but just what is a reasonable time to respond back to a seller or buyer? One person either wants to sell and another wants to buy. They want to get the deal over and done in a timely manner. One shouldn't have to leave multiple messages over weeks to get a response. Non-communication leads to assumptions. Most of the time I have found that those assumptions are usually right. But I have been known to be wrong too. It's simple.....just communicate with one another and there wont be any misunderstandings or assumptions. Have a nice day......

After some winter maintenance, I started the bike up for a short test drive. When I came back, coolant was leaking pretty badly from the weep hole under the water pump. Guess its time for a rebuild... After searching the forums last night, I haven't seen a complete parts lists or technical aid anywhere, so thought I'd try to document it all in one place. A couple questions: 1. I found in another post that P/N: 1FK-12450-00-00 is the newer metal impeller and that the plastic one was only used on MKI 1st gens. Can anyone (or a few people) confirm that this is indeed the metal replacement? I went through several years of bikes on Part Shark and they all listed this same P/N, but didn't indicate it as a replacement for obsolete part, which raised some suspicion. 2. Should I replace the thermostat too? 3. How do I get the water pump housing off without breaking the 90 degree plastic elbow joint between the thermostat and pump housing? Does it just slide/press in with the O-ring? Is it best to pull it out of the thermostat housing when pulling the pump housing off the case? Does it come easily or is there a safe method to pry/pull on it? 4. Is it necessary to replace the plastic gear (item 4)? I assume its worth $14 since I'll have it all apart, but just checking. 5. Will oil come out (do I need to drain oil) when I pull the water pump housing off the case? 6. What is item 3's purpose (Pin, dowel)? Should I replace that? Is it pressed in? 7. I'm planning to replace all the parts below. Am I missing anything? 8. I've read that success rate on a rebuild is not good. What are common mistakes or causes for this? What do I need to watch out for? Thanks in advance, everyone! Rebuild Parts List: 1FK-12450-00-00 – Qty 1 IMPELLER SHAFT ASY for 1984 YAMAHA XV 1200D Item 2 – this is supposedly the metal version, original was plastic $39.72 11H-12438-10-00 – Qty 1 SEAL, MECHANICAL for 1984 YAMAHA XV 1200D Item 8 – ceramic water tight seal $19.54 93101-10090-00 – Qty 1 OIL SEAL,S-TYPE for 1984 YAMAHA XV 1200D Item 7 $2.52 93306-00004-00 – Qty 1 BEARING for 1984 YAMAHA XV 1200D Item 6 $13.05 99009-10400-00 – Qty 2 CIRCLIP for 1984 YAMAHA XV 1200D Item 5, 2 places $1.18 26H-12459-00-00 GEAR, IMPELLER SHAFT Item 4 $13.86 ----------------------------------- 93211-16591-00 – Qty 1 O-RING for 1984 YAMAHA XV 1200D (Outer Impeller Case Cover O-ring gasket) Item 9 $5.05 214-11198-01-00 – Qty 1 GASKET for 1984 YAMAHA XV 1200D (Drain Plug O-ring) Item 12 $1.25 3JP-12449-02-00 – Qty 1 GASKET,WATER PUMP for 1984 YAMAHA XV 1200D (Gasket for main case housing) Item 14 $5.02 93210-27778-00 – Qty 2 O-RING for 1984 YAMAHA XV 1200D (O-ring seals for elbow joint between Pump housing and T-stat) Item 19 $1.45

Reference item two (in red) in the attached pic. Currently, on my 08 RSV, the "plunger" is kind of sticky...when I depress the brake lever, I can actually feel a kind of click as the actuator acuates. In fact, I've adjusted the lever as much as possible, but I've bottomed out on the screw/locknut combination, and still have a lot of play. It's almost as if the plunger isn;t retraction all of the way (out away from the master cylinder). A couple of questions: 1) Can these parts (item 2) be cleaned? 2) Is this repair considered a warranty repair? 3) If this isn;t a warranty item, is this easy to replace? Thanks for your inputs!

I stumbled on this old thread "Magnets to make traffic lights turn green". I've only riden since Sept 2010 and before that it has been 27 years. So I have some catching up to do. I read all the comments and for the small cost I am going to install one. One of the links suggested to go to Harbor Freight and look up Welding Magnets. I'm concluding the more powerful the magnet the better. So I'm looking for some suggestions as to the right size magnet and the best place to install one or more on an 89 VR without a trailer hitch. http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/175x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_2816.jpg 4 Piece Magnetic Welding Holders Item #93898 Only:$4.99 Sale:$3.99 http://www.harborfreight.com/skin/frontend/enterprise/harborfreight/images/btn_add2cart_up.jpg Add to Wishlist Add to Compare ========================================== http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/175x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_1229.jpg Fixed Right Angle Welding Magnet Item #46297 Only:$14.99 http://www.harborfreight.com/skin/frontend/enterprise/harborfreight/images/btn_add2cart_up.jpg Add to Wishlist Add to Compare ===================================== http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/175x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_142.jpg 4" Magnetic Ground Block Item #30754 (3) Only:$5.99 http://www.harborfreight.com/skin/frontend/enterprise/harborfreight/images/btn_add2cart_up.jpg Add to Wishlist Add to Compare ====================================== http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/175x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_53.jpg 4-3/4'' Multipurpose Magnet Holder Item #1938 (4) Only:$3.99 Sale:$2.99 http://www.harborfreight.com/skin/frontend/enterprise/harborfreight/images/btn_add2cart_up.jpg Add to Wishlist Add to Compare ====================================== http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/175x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_54.jpg 6-1/4" Multipurpose Magnet Holder Item #1939 (2) Only:$5.99 Sale:$3.99 http://www.harborfreight.com/skin/frontend/enterprise/harborfreight/images/btn_add2cart_up.jpg Add to Wishlist Add to Compare ================================== http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/175x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_906.jpg 7-1/2" Multipurpose Magnet Holder Item #41629 (2) Only:$7.99 Sale:$5.99 http://www.harborfreight.com/skin/frontend/enterprise/harborfreight/images/btn_add2cart_up.jpg Add to Wishlist Add to Compare

I am looking at an 07 Venture with about 9K on it. They tell me this bike has a factory warrenty until next year I think. ANyways I was lloking thru the fourms here trying to see what kind of things that might need attenetion I have to look forward to. I read something about the clutch whining (should be a warrenty item). What are some of the other common item that just seem to go bad? Not that something with 9K on it should be bad. Heck its only like on its second oil change right?

There are no reflector/lights on the sides of my rear crash bars as I've seen others have. Do any of you know of some for sale or where I may check to find this item? Are these stock lights or is it an after market item? Your help will be appreciated. Owen.
