I find that the number 2 cylinder on my bike is not firing so I swapped the #2 and #4 plug leads to see if the problem lay with the ignition coil and is appears that this is so. Does anyone know if there is an easier way of replacing the coil other than the way Yamaha intended this to be done, ie remove the fairing, the motor, cut a section out of the frame, replace the coil and then reverse the process. Many thanks.

As strange and against the grain as it seems...I want my machine as quiet as possible. Mine is a 1rst Gen '83 XVZ12 Venture. As you may guess the pipes have rotted on the ends. I've seen posts on putting HD Road Kings on as replacements and that is great. But I know that Gold Wings are verrrrrry quiet machines. Has anybody ever tried this exhaust? Or any kind of mufflers that are intended for silence? Blessings

I just stumbled on this website when reading my noon news. I was surprised by how much the consumption of Saudia oil had dropped and how much the Canadian oil imports had increased. http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/petroleum/data_publications/company_level_imports/current/import.html Brian BTW this wasnt intended to get anyone all inflamed about anything, just information. Moderators: if it goes south, please feel free to delete the post.

:detective:I want to install the factory passing lamps but wish to get them off the ignition switch. Relays have been mentioned and I wanted to know why a relay. Couldn't you wire direct to the accessory post and switch them as intended beside the 12 volt plug? Could some one go over the wiring from the start.

Getting together a group of Riders (so far 4) to do an Atlanta to Sturgis run first (two) WEEKS OF AUGUST. Planning to do trip mostly camping with a few motel shower stops when necessary. Ride intended to be mostly touring with little party. Ride initiator says the more the merrier. Anyone interested.
