Okay I searched the forum and found some good info, however I guess my question is a little different. I am 5'8'' and would llike to be able to extend my legs out from the floorboards when on the highway. As we all know the summer and highway heat can at times add to the heat off the engine. I really don't care to have the lower air deflectors added. Could anyone with some insight on this subject please comment. We have a 5 day trip to the Texas hill country scheduled at the end of September and really like to have some pegs in place by then. Thanks

one of the snaps on my trunk lid broke off some time ago. i've been riding with just the one but it is wearing thin and won't stay fastened. I guess I'll have to buy a new lid. is there a place to buy one besides yamaha. I'd hate to think what that would cost. any insight on this problem is appreciated. David

I have an 06 Black Cherry RSV and the gentlemen I bought the bike from did not like the long dual antennas so he either cut them off or got shorties to fit under the trunk. He never used the CB so didn't know if it worked. I of course want the long antennas and the CB to work. With the current short antennas I can hear from other CBs but not transmit. Any ideas if this is due to the inadequate antenna or could it also be a CB problem? Thanks for any insight I can get. Mongo

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. I hope i'm posting this in the proper spot. I am considering the purchase of a '99 RSV that has 18K on the clock. My first concern is the seat height of the RSV. I am 5' 7" and am wondering if I'll be able to handle the bike? Are there any other vertically challenged Venture riders out there that can give me some insight about this ? I have owned many Yamaha snowmobiles and they have all served me well. Figured it was time to try their 2 wheelers. Thanks, Jay

Hey Guys! Oh and ladies! The guy could not get the money for ole Blu so I get to keep it! I've been riding and getting used to the bike but one thing still drives me nuts. Every bump I hit causes rattles from the front fairing. I have tried to tighten and secure everything but it is still there. Any insight from the pros? I found that it is much more fun to change the plugs on my gen 1 then it is on a royal touring. Whew!

We're taking a family vacation, and looking for some info on, places to go, and any good riding highways. I've never been to lake of the "o", MO. If anyone's been there, and can give me any insight, on some good scenery, twisties, and pitstops, it would be appreciated! CLAWED:dancefool:

Hi all I just joined the Venture Riders for the main reason of investigating the second generation Venture. Having owned an 83 and 87 first generation and putting 100,000 miles on each I can say I did like them alot. Most resent ride was an 01 Goldwing 1800 (totaled this past summer)a and a 1500 wing I put 200,000 miles on bought new in 96 which now belongs to my son in law but Istill ride when I feel the need. Idecided to look into the possible purchase of a USED second generation Venture but would like to hear from present owners any concerns or issues I should be aware of in my search. I ride two up about 30% of the time so any co rider commkents welcome also. I thank you in advance and hope to gain some insight into what apears to be a pretty darn good ride. Thanks TJ and to all that might reply I just thought I'd add that I'm 6'3" with 34" inseam. How will I fit these bikes. First generation were very comfortable for me but knee bend was only slightly tight. Rich
