Hi, My clutch friction point is way out at the end of the lever travel. I'd like to bring it in a bit as my hand is only just big enough. Do I have any adjustment options, or is it time for new friction plates plain and simple? BTW, the clutch does not slip. For example, yesterday I was at a light on an incline and, when it went green, I found I had only downshifted as far as 2nd. The old gal (~60k miles) groaned and shuddered a bit, but pulled away up the incline in 2nd no probs. Thanks, Brian H.

the wife and i took a ride from just south of Greensboro NC up north to the blue ridge pkwy. in Va. ending back at Fancy Gap NC. during a hard second gear acceleration i was watch the speedo to shift before i hit the rev limiter and i noticed the oil light flash on and off. i know this is not normal and i have not seen it do that before. i can't remember if i was on an incline, decline or level ground when it did this. i can somewhat reconcile it flashing on if i was either on an incline or decline as the oil could move away from the oil pickup. i ran it hard again in second gear (level ground) and had no issue. any thoughts??

Saturday my wife & I went out of town for a little trip. The road we were on was an incline. There was some road construction and the asphalt ended. The road was a thick gravel/shale. I drove up this winding incline and had enough. I told my wife I was going to make a U-turn and go back. Guys, don't ever try to do a U-turn on an incline, on shale, on a 800+ lb. bike, with 2 passengers! Learn by my stupid mistake. I went into my turn, didn't have enough power, tried to accelerate, back tire lost traction, caught traction and threw my wife off the back into the road on her back, front tire slid out and I went down! Messed up the crash bars and dinged up my lt rear trunk pretty bad. And I dinged up my pride too. Worst of all I hurt my wife. I can't tell you the guilt I felt and still feel. Her lt elbow was lacerated. She has a large hemotoma on the elbow. She is aching all over. She took it a lot better than I did.
