Hello all, I have been looking at an 84 and I am not so sure I am going to do this. I read up before I looked at it and was really impressed at the features. Because the bike has sat for three yrs I was ready for the usual issues. A dead battery that would start and run the bike with a boost was okay. The red flashing 'Warning!' light caught my eye, what is that?! The 'PSI' on the ride control led was showing with no other information, is it working? The idle stabilized after warming up but was high at 1300 rpms, a snap of the throttle reduced rpm's marginaly. I thought a little lube and adjustment might have settled this but after reading the forum? Sounds like I am going waltzing through the intake system, and oh the prices of diaphrams! Is there a weber carb and manifold on the market for these instead? Would 'HAL' (2001 Space Odyessey) the computer mind ? The left side oil leak at the valve cover seems easy enough. What am I looking at for new tires and which ones are the absolute best rated for this bike? And of course at what cost? The 2nd gear modification has been done, but the shift lever was difficult to use with my size 11, I really had to toe reach down for it, is it adjustable? The lever is a bit small and takes too much concentration to shift with. I read the electrical schematic and was impressed at what you have here, but, hey? Its only a motorcycle after all? I dunno...I jst wann go for a putt, not become snarled in issues! We shall see.

Hello Everyone: Thanks to everyone who recommended the Signal Dynamics 100 LED tail light upgrade. Mine arrived today. 5 Minutes installation or less. Very impressed!!! This should be the very first SAFETY item added to any bike. Thanks again.....Mark

The darn Bambi's are getting downright pushy. Yesterday Janet came home and one was lying down in her carport. It was nice and comfy and refused to move. I went out and explained that the weekend before we had BBQed one of his mates. He was not impressed. When I turned around I saw another one curled up in my carport next to the Merc. Have to get out the apple and the hammer.

Anyone have these on their bike? I was with a friend over the weekend and he had them installed on his Ford Ranger and I was very impressed with the lighting. Haven't found one for my 2006 RSTD but plan on getting them for my Silverado. Bob

I finally got my MC Cruiser magazine, (long story), and was anxious to read their 'Tourers Shootout' article. They had the HD Electra Glide Ultra Edition, Kaw Voyager, Venture & the Victory Vision for the comparisons. I was sad to see that the only thing that really impressed them about the Venture was the engine! Granted it is an old model, but I was pretty disappointed in their opinion of it. - (I wonder if I am just being defensive because I like it so much.) They rated the Victory as the highest, but I just couldn't get past the styling and the Air Cooled engine. I looked at the Voyager when it first arrived at the dealer, but wasn't too impressed with it for some reason. I really thought the Venture would score higher. Have any of you read the article? What did you think of it? craigr

Although I've had my 99 for five years I've never ridden in the dark in the country until this weekend.I left Cocoa at 5 AM headed for Tampa and I was NOT impressed with the headlight. It looked like I had a kerosene lantern lighting the way.Any ideas on a bulb upgrade?

Well many of you know that Lonna and I are headed towards Texas, Tennessee is an awsome state, but there are too many from michigan and the surrounding states headed there. What I need from some of you folks is options for moving. We have done the Pensky trucks before and I know about them. Seems right now it's a supply and demand thing and they are truly rediculous in price. I thought about the PODS thing, but they want more paperwork filled out than when I joined the Military, just to get a quote. Needless to say I am not impressed. Please let me know of any of your experiences and avenues for shipping the household to Texas. I'm not necessarily looking for someone to come in and pack it all, we can handle that. I'm just looking for options and obviously a good price, right now it's looking like a $3K deal if we rent a truck and the fuel and whatnot....I'm not impressed with that either I'll be keeping an open mind and hopefully we'll get some alternate ideas, as always, Thanks in advance.

How can any company, even a Hong Kong company advertise, make and sell a full size vinyle motorcycle cover for $1.66, Buy it now price. I don't know either but I got mine in the mail today. I really didn't expect much when I saw it on e-bay but I figured what the heck for $1.66 I'd take a chance. When it came today just seven days since I pushed the buy it now button I was even impressed with the prompt delivery all the way from Hong Kong, China. When I got it out of the package and put it on the bike I was even impressed with the fit, fabric and workmanship. Gee this time I guess it wasn't too good to be true.

The '08 Venture just hit 800 miles so I decided to take her in for 1st maintenance today. It was very nasty out but I figured I could make it before the rain set it...NOT. I rode 45 miles in a wicked downpour and I have to say, I'm impressed. This may be old had to most here but having never owned a touring bike I was amazed at how well the bike handled in this weather and no less amazed at how dry I stayed with NO raingear on. My only complaint was the windshield visibility so I am going to challenge my buddy to manufacture a wiper and motor to put on it. If I had a wiper on there it would have been a perfect ride. Again, sorry for such a long rave but I was too impressed to keep my mouth shut.
