So last night I submitted an application for a part time driver job to give me something to do during the winter. I received an answer and everything screams SCAM!!!! I looked up the address and it exists, I looked up the name and address and one of the returns directs me to a 419 scam web site. E-mail, request for information including scanned DL, most of the phone number, the language in the reply, everything throws up red flags. This is just effing great! just what I don't need. I began making helmet extension cables about 2 months ago. Why you ask, because a friend of mine (Harley) was complaining that the stock cable constantly tugged at his helmet, he is 6’ 4”. So I offered to make him a 14” extension. He liked it so much he bought another one for his wife, she liked it also as she said she no longer has to disconnect to dismount. They told their friends at the local HOG meeting and they told their friends and now I’m making about 7 a week. They are made from coiled cable and will extend to 22”. I’m charging $21.00 shipped in the continental US. I have attached a picture of one for you to look at. I thought I would spread the word in case anyone here has the same issue with their stock helmet cable. Besides I need chrome money and it gives me something to do. Being retired is not all that interesting in the winter. WEB SITE: http://home.comcast.net/~jbissonette1/site/ Thanks Jim

I have noticed some oil on the left side of the rear wheel and tire of my 03 Venture after a long ride of say 50 + miles. I noticed it for the first time about a month ago and thought it was just road oil and washed if off. After a ride this past Sunday I noticed it again and now I’m sure it’s an oil leak on the final drive. I stopped by the local dealer yesterday and asked them to check with Mama Yama to see if they would cover the repair under warranty since I first noticed the problem last month (my warranty was up the 19 of this month). If they don’t cover it I will do the repair myself. I am thinking that it’s the oil seal which is just behind the bearing housing on the final drive. What do you folks think? Has any one else had an oil leak here and if so do you have any suggestions on the replacement of the oil seal? I’m thinking it’s a straight forward repair with no hidden issues. Thanks for your input. I’m hoping that Yamaha will pay for it but I want to be prepared to do it myself just in case. If I end up doing the repair myself I’m going to take pictures and do a work up on the repair for the site so the next person will have a tech article to follow.
