Well, I lowered the front end of the bike and everything went exceptionally smooth... Today I went to pull out to do a carb tune on it and "no clutch", clunked into first gear. Hummmmmmmmm. Those resivours must not like being hung upside down...LOL:bang head: Oh well something else to do to her... Shouldn't take that long...

This may seem mickey mouse, but I sure like how it works. I purchased two items at a dollar store that had plastic "hooks" attached, as shown in the pictures. As you can see, I hung the hooks on the existing helmet holders on my 88VR. While they obviously don't lock, they sure make it easier to hang my helmets there.

Not Bike related, but some of you may be interested. My wife bought a Humming Bird feeder last month. I hung it on a wire from a tree limb, close to the house, and never seen a bird around it. A friend told me that it has to be hung away from tree limbs. So, Saturday, I moved it and hung it on a wire from the soffit, under the rain gutter, in front of the large bay window. And this morning there was two humming birds feeding. Really an interesting sight. I didn't know we even had these birds in the neighborhood. It sure attracts them. The feeder is first filled with water, then add sugar and some red food coloring. Works like a charm. Now I've got a new unique hobby!

Maybe some of you are old enough to remember way back when in the days of Model A Fords, Oasis Desert Bags that hung in front of radiators, and evoporative swamp coolers that hung in the side window. Mom and Dad used to cook meals on the exhaust manifold of the motor. Ate a lot of hot meals while traveling cross country from NY to CA in the '40's that way. Pot roasts, beef stews, hot dogs, baked potatoes. Now that was roughing it. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried doing this on a Venture??? Maybe those that tow a tent trailer??? Found this site on Google. Manifold Cooking Plus a bunch of others.....

So, as I was driving through my neighborhood today I spotted a really sweet looking female Great Dane loose on the street. Nope, no tags either. Took her home, went back out and hung "found" signs and notified the local vets. Now the wait. Zeus is a little miffed but if no one claims her in 2 days then im keeping her.

Ok last one been away had to catch up. I didn't shoot this one a friend did, so it's not in HD This was me and buddy doing a little unrehearsed tune at a tribute we had for a fallen friend at our Local Yamaha shop last summer. my VR buddies Donob11 and Mariner Fan came down and hung out with us that day, so I thought it apporpriate to share her, with my other musician biker friends. I got my leather jacket hung up in my left sidecase the other day, the jacket got betwwen the latch and the catch. I like to never got it open, and when I did, the bag now doesn't apear to be shut all the way on the rear unless you push down with your hand on the back half. I also got a little water inside the other day when I got caught out in the rain. I have looked for some type of adjustment on this, as I am sure there is one, but nothing jumps out at me. Any ideas on this?

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house," and he said "no." Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available. George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again. "Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them." Then he hung up. Within five minutes six police cars, a SWAT Team, a helicopter, two fire trucks, a paramedic and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence and caught the burglars red-handed. One of the Policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!" George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"(True Story) I LOVE IT - Don't mess with old people.

I had known Don Spiker for about 15 years. He passed away while I was on my midwest trip last July, he was 73. Don and I have spent many Sunday mornings together and I enjoyed this gentle soul very much. We hung out at the Michaels restaurant parking lot, the usual gathering spot for about 300 motorcycles, in Chapel Hill, NC. Our backgrounds were very close, we both had two daughters, have ridden bikes since the 1960s, and both worked at carburetor factorys most of our working lives. I enjoyed his companionship and his wit. He leaves his daughters, and a grandchild he finished putting through college just this May. I think he hung on until this last great goal was completed. I watched as my friends health declined. I knew the end was near, however, I was still caught off guard by his death. Ride on dear friend, with clear roads, and the wind always at your back. I will miss you, and remember you until I die........
