One of my harness customers found a video on YOU TUBE that recommended using the Hopkins-46255-Power-Taillight-Converter for connecting a 4 pin trailer harness to the 5 wire 2nd Gen Venture system, I reviewed the video and what info I could find on that converter and recommended that he purchase that unit as it should work. He has the Hoppy now but the color codes on his Hoppy do not match what the instruction sheet I found on line. I am sending him a harness in the morning, but I not able to help him determine which wires on the Hoppy connect to which wires on the harness. If the colors matched the instructions it would be easy, but his colors are different. Has any one else used the Hoppy 46255 on a 2nd Gen? Any help is appreciated.

before I even ask this I should know better by now but here goes. Just ordered a new trailer that has factory Led's and is wired for 4 wires. From other threads looks like the Hoppy 4 to 5 converter will work and a lot cheaper than the other isolators, converters, and sub wiring harness that I have looked at. #1 Will the Hoppy converter be more economical than installing two more lights to the trailer for turn signals? #2 Will installing two more lights for turn signals require any kind of isolator? #3 Will wiring trailer directly to bike harm the bikes electrical system ? From what have read the isolator puts the load on the battery and not the bikes charging system. I'm not using any heated gear or planning any other lighting upgrades other than maybe some strip leds under the tank etc.. In theory trailer will only be used a few times a year. I have read so many old threads and opinions that I have information overload so give me some more and maybe it will fix this hangover.

I know there was a picture of a Hoppy mounted on an RSTD.... Apparently I am search challenged..... I am hoping someone has a picture, or an idea of where it can be mounted. Thanks in advance.. Robert C.

Apparently I am search challenged.. I have searched everywhere I can think of and can't seem to find the answer I just put together my bike trailer and will be ordering the hitch and Hoppy adapter/isolator. I also plan to mount a fuse box. I am thinking there is enough room under the seat of my 2005 RSTD to mount the fuse block but where does everyone tie into the wiring for the Hoppy?? I have seen a couple of threads where people menitoned splicing into the area at the tail light... Sorry for the questions, just get a little paranoid when messing with the electrical system and don't waht to fry anything.. Anything with pics would be great... Thanks.. Robert C.

Where is a good place to buy the Hoppy power converter? I don't have a pep Boys where I live. Is it easy to wire up on a RSTD?. Jim Bell A computer once beat me in chess, but it didn't survive kick boxing.

The part number is 46255. It seems ready made and cheap. I thought about using it so I could get a trailer.
