Hello all, once again, actually for the 40th time since 2018, the folks at ultimatemotorcycling.com sent me a product to review. I know my brother from a different Mother @cowpuc reads them and I hope you do too. I don’t get paid for reviewing. It is a labor of love. Comments are always welcome. https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2021/06/13/hjc-f70-carbon-review-full-face-touring-motorcycle-helmet/ FYI I am reviewing the Klim airbag vest right now and I will tell you I will always have it on from now on ! I am looking to replace my HJC and Scorpio open faced helmets, but I am having difficulty finding helmets that can be fitted with the Yamaha standard open-faced head-set and mike. I have a Scorpio half-helmet, and used Velcro to secure the mike. It works OK, but is not ideal. The HJC is getting old (6 years), and works well, but the new ones I have found in the dealers will not readily accept the mike. Anybody using a recent open face helmet with the audio gear that they are really happy with?

I bought a HJC Sy-Max II about a year ago and have been happy with it. BUT......the other day the release button for the flip up chin acted weird and took a few trys to get it to release. Today it would not release at all. Dang! I thought at one time someone had mentioned a problem similar to this with the Sy-Max but I can't find anything on a search. Any thoughts? I'm checking the HJC site for a fix or where to send it in. Mike

Looking for advice on helmets and headsets. We are looking at HJC BT modulars with the dual visors. Headsets are J&M BCD279-UN-HO sets for the HJC. I was able to find everything, including the lower cords for 615.00. is thiat a good deal?? Is there a better option for this price?? thanks to all that answer. This price is for 2 sets.

For those looking for a new helmet or a modular helmet. Motorcycle Gear (New Enough.com) has their HJC Symax IIs on closeout for 129.99 with free shipping. Thought that was a pretty good price. Other models are also low priced. http://www.motorcyclegear.com/street/closeouts/all_types/hjc/ May want to click through the banner at the top of the page so the site gets credit.

Well, New Enough is hacking at me again. They have been offering up some things that I have been wanting to improve on for a while. Today I got the notice on the HJC Sy-Max II going on sale. I've needed to replace my full face helmet, a Vetter I bought when I bought my GL1100, (and no I don't wear it anymore), to something more modern. LOL! I have the HJC Trooper style half helmet that is my daily bucket. Fits great, stays cool and most comfortable helmet I've ever owned. But the colder weather is setting in a full face would be nice. But from what I'm reading the HJC Sy-Max II has some pretty good reviews and has been around for a bit. Now today, they listed one in my size, which is a bear to find and for a decent price. Anyone here own one of these and what are your thoughts on it? The sun visor is one of my main concerns. Nice feature, but seems to be the weak spot in the reviews. Thanks for any comments. Mike

Has anyone compared the two models? I have it narrowed down to those two choices. With the price at my dealer they are about the same price so that is not an issue. We will use it to listen to music and intercom. We have the HJC IS-33 helmets, I believe they are called 3/4, have the flip-down face shield (not modular). Thanks! I've use HJC CL-33 helmets for years and always wanted a full face helmet but could never get one to work with my fat head. I've tried on every brand, style and price full face helmet and they all pinched my head and pushed my cheeks up to my eyes. I was in a local accessory shop today and stumbled across a full face HJC FS-15 Carbon Fiber Helmet. The helmet is both DOT and SNELL rated. I was intrigued by the carbon fiber and it looked really nice. After admiring it for a few minutes I noticed that it was my size as I started to put it down and thought what the heck, I'll try it on. Was I ever surprised. The helmet fit like a glove and one of the most comfortable helmet I've ever tried. My head wasn't distorted at all once inside. After studying it more I was unsure if I could get a headset installed in it or not. I left the store to do some research on headset installation and after talking to the folks at Sierra Electronics I was convinced it could be done. So, I just ordered two of them (Valerie's needs to match) from this site: http://www.2wt.org/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=0118 They are on closeout and in short supply. Reg retail $449 and they're being closed out at about $235 with shipping. If you ride a blue '07 they have a blue that looks like it would be a perfect match to the bike. And I was told by one store that HJC makes the same helmet branded as Joe Rocket and it can be bought for about $179. I know it is a bit late to ask, but does anyone have any experience with this helmet. Dennis

I find that my full face Bell works fine in the winter but get's awfully hot in the summer time. Anyone have either of these HJC helmets. Bike Bandit has the FS-3 on clearance sale, I really like the idea of running either a visor or a shield. That being said, I'm wanting to install a J&M headset in whatever I get with little to no cutting on anything on the inside. Also, how is the noise? Also might look at a Nolan N42/N43. Same kinds of questions.

Well it has happened. I dropped a helmet for the first time. I have bumped my helmet before, on a door frame or wall, but this time, totally my fault, my helmet bounced. It was sitting on my seat, which I have done many many times, my helmet sits nice and flat on the seat. But not when it gets knocked off by a stray elbow . Anyways, I have been wearing this HJC Symax for about 3 years, and I am considering 2 helmets. HJC Symax II and the Shark Evoline. Does anyone have reviews, or good places and prices for either of these? Having worn HJC all my biking life, I am comfortable with them, but that does not mean I am opposed to trying a new company that has good reviews. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. This will be a quick purchase, as I am not sure exactly how much damage this helmet has.

Just posted an ad in classifieds. Looking to buy a black full face HJC helmet. Size XL.

Have seen that they have been released to the market. They are said to have a bit different shape and a flip down sun visor. Has anyone bought one or tried one out? It is about time to replace the helmet I bought with my 05 (an original SYMAX) and am considering it as the replacement. Its time for me to buy another helmet. Where would I find the best deal on a HJC AC3? The going price seems to be $125.99.

I tried jumping on the back end of another thread fishing for comments, but may have confused folks on what I was looking for. I'll try again with a new thread... I've been looking to get a 3/4 helmet. My HJC shorty doesn't position the headset speakers over my ears and I get a hot spot at the top of my left ear. I like HJC, I have a Symax flip chin full face helmet I like alot, but I want a "Summer" helmet. I've seen the catalog pictures of the AC3 and the testimonials on previous threads here are encouraging, but then I came across a catalog listing for a Cyber U-12. I'm wondering if anyone has this Cyber U-12 helmet and what you think of it. It looks like it has the best of both worlds. A skeletonized visor and a face shield that seems to flip up under the visor. I wonder if there are ear pockets in the lining for speakers and whether the bottom edge of the helmet will take the headset boom clamp (J&M). I wonder if the visor will stay up in the wind or if the wind causes it to close. I like the styling of the Cyber U-12 helmet and the price is comparable to the HJC. Anyone with any history with this Cyber U-12 helmet? Thanks. David

Yesterday I bought a new HJC AC3 helmet. I was wondering if any of you use the same helmet and what you think of it. I wanted a 3/4 helmet so I can use the headset and didnt want to get a full face. Not broken in yet but when I tried it on it seemed nice. I like it because when the face shield is not on it has a nice visor to hide all the ratchet mechanisms. It is DOT and Snell rated and also the way it is shaped it allows for free movement of head as well as being light. This is my first helmet larger than a 1/2 other than my Racing helmet. Tell me what you think!
