Hello all, I am trying to locate the schematics and wiring diagrams for the radio and the CB on my 99 RSV but I am ending nowhere. The sticker on the radio says: ------------------------------ YAMAHA Model ER-1129V 4XY-88132-00 Clarion P\N 286-9182-00 ------------------------------- CB: I didn't remove the trunk to see if there a label on the CB unit but I am sure there is one , is there someone who has the info?????? ( Yamaha model, Clarion model, P\N's etc.. ) Your help in locating the wiring diagrams will be greatly appreciated, I am having a CB transmit problem and I don't seems to be able to fix it with the recommended procedures. (cable connections=ok, mic direction=ok, antenna=ok ) Note that the intercom portion works great so I know both mics and both switches are working fine. The problem with the CB is that the audio portion of the transmit signal is very weak (modulation), other people can hardly hear me but I can hear them clearly. Help! Thanks, Hermann

I would like for those of you who use the chat rooms to give me an evaluation of the two solutions that I have installed at this time. The old one is pretty slick and has some nice features but doesn't work from all devices. The new one isn't as slick but seems to work just as well and is easier to get into and out of I think. It will be your call. If you choose the new one called "Shoutbox" at the top of the page then I will update it to the pro version. That won't make it any slicker looking but will add a few features such as allowing you to detach and run it in a separate window, turn the notification sounds on or off, things like that. Like I said, it is your call. From a money stand point, it's not a big deal. I would have to pay for the pro version of the new one but I also pay a yearly hosting fee separately for the old one so for the short term at least, it's pretty much a wash. So lets hear it. What do you want? The other option is that I could keep both but not upgrade the new one to the pro version. Just leave it as it is. I really don't think that we need two chat rooms though.

As some of you know, I have a problem,,,, I know what you are thinking, but this is a new one. I ride a 2014 Spyder and installed JMCB 2003 for a CB and intercom. The intercom works fine, and the CB broadcasts just fine. Now if we get 2 CBs close together I can hear the other, if they are more than 4ft apart I can't hear the other person. I can hear a tapping on their mic, but no voice comes through. Now hear is the next problem then. I contacted JM corp and they would like me to try to use one of their headsets. I use the Edsets with the proper cord, but they were wondering if I could try one of theirs. SO!!!! anybody in the area have a set they could lend me??

How many of you actually use the CB, and for what? Originally it sounded like a good idea, but to tell the truth in the 8 months or so of ownership and a couple of over 1k trips I have yet to talk to anyone, or even hear anything worthwhile! So how do the rest of you use this thing? I realy would like to hear some constructive suggestions. I thought it might be a good emergency tool but quite frankly I don't see how I could ever get to anyone.

I recently changed out my rear pads. Brakes have been completly flushed and operate fine. But when I apply the rear brake I hear a sort of clicking sound I never heard before. Almost sounds like crickets or something. Dont hear it if you only apply front brakes. I was thinking maybe it was because now there is more pad to cross over the vent holes in disk. But why wouldnt you hear it from the front.

I have 1999 yamaha venture that broadcasts loud and clear to my fellow riders however I can't hear them at all.The cb volume is at max 20, I've turned the IC down/up/mid andd I've even used headphones/speakers. If I have the bike in garage in accessories mode where it's relatively quiet , I can hear truckers reasonably clearly. A friend of mine says his venture is the same way. Is this typical for these bikes and if not ,what can I do?? Someone has put some "jitterbug" or something like that after market attenna on cb and radio( which has very poor range). I have ordered factory attenna to eliminate as possibility!!The cb one currently doesn't have the fat area mid-shaft on attenna. Thanks!!

I know that we can't cover everything but what are most using and what does your have in it. Seems I have been thinking about this a lot lately and want something on the bike with me. So lets hear your ideas ....

Have a few questions on this whine. I always understood there was two sounds the drive train made. One fairly high pitched sound that changes with RPM and goes away or can’t always be heard. Also I understand there was a deeper sound as well, which you hear about the same times as the higher pitch sound. The high pitched sound does not bother me but this deeper sound just started and has gotten louder in the past 500 miles. I have an 08 RSV with 21,500 miles, upgraded the clutch with PCW kit, 1,500 miles ago, new tires. I hear the deeper sound at about 30 miles an hour in 3rd and as long as you are maintaining speed. Let of the throttle, or pull the clutch sound disappears. This sound is also there in 4th gear at 40 mph, and stays there all the way to about 60 mph. 5th Gear the sound is louder but at 65 it is very loud. I can still hear it at 75 but the wind noise is starting to drown out the sound. Does this bike have the basket issue ? Why did it just start or started shortly after I upgraded the clutch ? Does it get worse with more miles on the bike ? Any comments or suggestions. Thanks Brad

I'm a little surprised as the bike has been so solid but what sounds like a serious noise has begun on my 86. While at cruising speed, if I lean in to a turn (either direction) I hear a howling noise that stops as soon as I straighten up. (rear wheel bearings ???) More recently I noticed that when coasting to a stop with the clutch lever in, I hear what actually sounds like gear mesh noise. I have also noticed that as the bike slows down, I feel and hear a vibration at around 15 mph. I am thinking rear wheel bearings or u joints?

Well, Squidly and Lonna stopped yesterday with an empty bike trailer behind their suv so we loaded Dragonrider's '93' Trike on it. They left around 3:30 and was headed South. I suspeck that sometime this afternoon we should all hear a loud whooping and hollaring coming out of the Atlanta Ga. area - That'll be Lewis screaming as he tries to get all of the ratchet ties off his trike so he can ride it.

Have 1990 Venture. The CB comes on, it transmits and receives, but the volume is so low you can hardly hear it. Have checked all connections and they appear fine. When you turn on the CB, you hear it come on but volume is very low. The squelch works normally. Any ideas? The AM/FM and cassette have normal volume.

I have to adjust the cable until I hear the relay click, then I can start it. Sometimes it will even have issues immediately if it dies suddenly after starting. I have to go back and do it again. I was having issues getting it started the other day. Not sure if I couldn't hear the click since the battery was low, maybe not enough voltage for the relay. Hoping that's the only issue. But I would like to ride it again. Planning on taking the trip down to Yellowstone before I move. Pretty much the whole reason I bought it, plus I only paid $1000.

Eileen and I got home around 1:00 today. I wish we could have stayed another day but had to get home to take care of some other business. I just want to say that Big Tom and his FANTASTIC team did a wonderful job with this years rally. They had so many prizes to give away that I thought they would NEVER stop calling numbers. Everything they did was done top notch. The rides, food, prizes, location.....I can't think of a single thing that could have been done better. We are so fortunate that we always have such great people taking charge and handling our rallies. For any of you who have never put one together, you have no idea of the amount of time and energy that goes into these things. Dingy already made an excellent post about Pioneer Motorsports so I'll just quickly mention again that they are GREAT folks. If we all had dealers like that, you would never hear the horrific dealer stories that we often hear. So thank you to all involved for making this years such a great success.

Ever since I bought my bike it's had Samson pipes on it that are on the LOUD side, I pulled them off and put the stock pipes back on and now can hear the engine and road noise Things sure are quiet! I do have a little chirp coming from the clutch area, I don't think it's the whine so many complain about. Were planning about 3000 miles with the International Rally being the start and thought it would be nice to actually hear the radio and CB without having to wear ear plugs all the time.

I think my cb is out of tune. I can hear what people are saying pretty clear but everyone says they can not understand me to well. If we are sitting still and close together everything is fine but on the road it isn't. I have never tuned a CB so I know nothing about it. I do know that i have to set my squelch up high to like 18 or 20 so that I am not picking up other channels transmitting. When I ask the other riders if they hear the other channels they always say no. If anyone can help me out with this thanks.

I have been looking at old posts about speakers and back a few years ago everyone was going to the Polk DB401 speakers. Now that time has passed how are the speakers holding up and would you still recommend the same speakers? I have been thinking of putting some speakers in that I can actually hear.

2007 RSTD w/23k miles and factory warranty until October. Yes; a squeak at idle and fading away with engine rpm, or at least I don't hear it. I just changed oil a few miles before it manifested itself most of the time at an idle. I could occasionally hear it prior to the oil change but very minor in volume, yet now much louder and most of the time. I took it to the dealer and he couldn't identify it yet was willing to tear into it but was cautious about doing that without a clear idea what they were looking for. He asked about oil change and I replied it was just done within a few hundred miles and it was 10-40 Kendal 4 stroke Motorcycle oil. He suggested that I change it to 20-50 since we live in south Florida and it should perform well with it, we could see if the change has any effect on the noise. I read a thread that sounded similar to my noise with the best comment being a possible water pump bearing but 90% of the replies were rhetoric about the OP have hearing issues, so please just good positive comments. Thanks

Thought I had a buyer for my motor home coming by. So went to clean it up and check out everything. All went OK 'til I turned on the fresh water pump. Pump pumped up and quit, then started pulsing. Now I hear a hissing noise behind the shower wall! Ok, just another thing to add to my "list", no biggy:( But now Darn-it!!!! chances are up to 30% Friday

I own a 07 RSTD with 21K and I'm trying to compare some of the bikes features with past bikes I have owned. It seems like I do not hear my cooling fan run, or it is real quiet. I also have never seen the temp light on either. On my last bike which was a VTX 1800 you could definitely hear and feel the fan moving air when it would come on. I live in South Florida and the fan would come on any time you spent much time stopped and also when I would pull it into the garage and leave the ignition on.
