All, I have been researching problems with lights on the bike and have narrowed it down to possibly being dirty connections. Alot of posts say to spray WD40 and contact cleaner and that does a fairly good job, but my mechanic is suggesting that the chemicals will do harm to the plastic. He suggests dissasembling the switches, using files and sandpaper and cleaning them that way (if even possible, if they all come apart). What's the skinny on this? Has anyone experienced harm by using these products? Thanks, Woody

Actually one leads to the other ..... Does it do any harm to pull the clutch and start in first gear and subsequently, does it do any harm to leave it parked in gear so it doesn't roll on a hill???

Is there any chemical that will strip the paint off these old plastics and not harm the plastic its self? If not, I have years of sanding to do.....

I just ran a can through the tank and have been told by some that I need to change the oil to remove the debris that it has accumulated ?? I just changed it 1200 miles ago and synth. oli is expensive? Any ideas if this is needed or can harm my engine if I don't change it? In most of all the post I have read nobody mentions changing the oil after Seafoam.

What is the best way, and what is the best product to use, to buff out light scratches on the trunk and side bags, etc. Never had to do this until now and don't want a product that's going to harm the paint or finish (for plastic). Thanks in advance.

On my 89 Venture, the headlight dimmer rocker switch is quite stiff to move. Tonight was my first night ride and I noticed I can get both the high beam and low beam to be on at the same time. It really isn't all that hard to do even driving on the highway. My question is will it harm anything to ride this way when no other traffic is around? The extra light is kind of nice. Thanks.

I switched to a full synthetic oil with my last oil change. Would it do any harm to the engine if I decided to switch back to regular oil?
