Ok gang, I have my RSV lowered front and rear.I am VERY happy with the way the bike handles, only real problem is the muffler scraping. I thought maybe I would make a set of links that are 3/4 or 1/2 the difference between the Barons and the stock links. I don't have a drill press handy and thought I might just see if someone was making these? Thanks for any and all help! Frank

Saw these on Flea-Bay and its spring tune-up time. I'm replacing the whole wire this year. They have them on Flea-Bay too only about 15 bucks more but a little harder to install. Warden with her little hands comes in handy sometimes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VENTURE-XVZ1200-XJ550-FZ700-NGK-Spark-Plug-Cap-Set-/180647432080?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a0f6d0f90

No, I really have not looked but was hoping to go out and get one local if possible. Would this be a normal part at like AutoZone? You wouldn't happen to have the part number handy? I think the one I have is original. It says Made in Japan in the lense.

Am in the market for a top case to mount on my '98 RSTD. I have already modified a batwing to it and am now only missing a top case to finish off the full touring mod's. I have been on Ebay and can find a number of aftermarket units and even a couple that would look ok. But I think it might be better looking if I could find a Venture Top case (first or second gen) to make it look right. If any one has one laying around, even if it's a little dinged up ( I am handy ) let me know. Thanks for looking! Norm

Can someone please tell me who it is that sells the deflectors to keep the wind off the knees? Winter is coming and they could come in handy for those cold rides. Thanks....... Art

Due to scheduling problems, I have to ride my bike to the shop where the new tire is and they will mount it. I want to keep the old one, since I have a few thousand miles left, I reckon, and having a workable emergency spare will be handy. Has anyone carried a rear tire on their luggage rack? Note that I have a RSTD.

I was wondering if it's a good idea to hide an extra key on the bike somewhere? How many of you do this now? It sure would come in handy if you lost the original while you were out somewhere. Thanks

Have any of you managed to somehow connect the Zumo 550 Bluetooth function to your phone and standard headset in a meaningfull, usefull way? If so, please share the info, pictures if you have them...? I guess a very handy and usefull thing would be to somehow end up with the entire helmet headset setup being wireless...... But that's probably too complex or expensive....?

Can anyone tell me where the wires for the passing lamps on the RSTD is? I did them on my Venture and I am gonna help a buddy put them on his. He is yet to get on here yet. He is not all that handy so Im gonna assist. Where do you make the connections and what else do I need to know?

This may have been mentioned here before but I missed it if it has. I think this is the route I'm going to go for my wife. Heck, for $20.00 I think I'll get me one also. I have a Passport but wouldn't mind having this handy in my wallet. Eileen doesn't have a Passport so hers will be $45.00. Still, a cheaper alternative for any of you needing one. http://travel.state.gov/passport/ppt_card/ppt_card_3926.html

Nothing to do with the bikes, but I have some questions, or perhaps some insight. Were here at Lonna's moms and I have been working off some small projects. The GFCI plugs aren't working in the bathrooms and from what I gather never have. This is a Mobile home and I purchased a small plug in tester to check the circuts. It states that the hot and ground are reversed, now I wanted to shut the circut off and see if the plugs were the culprit. Can't get the supposed circut to kill the power so I'm not screwing with it any more. What I'm driving at here is there are 3 women and 2 kids here, so they aren't handy with any of this. Do any of our Texas members know of a reputable electrician that can shoot over to N. Houston and get this problem recified. I will more than likely be footing the bill here as Lonna's mom doesn't have a lot of cash to play with. As Always, any help or guidance would be appreciated

Just got my "Handy Throttle" in from Cabela's today for my 4 wheeler. Put this on and you twist like a motorcycle instead of pushing with the thumb. I have small hands so I have to stretch with my thumb to even reach the throttle. My hand would ache and my thumb would hurt. Tried an extension, seemed to put it even further back. Found this at Cabela's and hope it will work. file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/Owner/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg Excited to try it out. Let me know if ya have tried it.

http://www.tlcproducts.com/servlet/Detail?no=121 Thinking about picking up this liner set for my saddlebags and trunk, because I'm getting ready to do some travelling for work and would like to take the bike. I've always figured these would come in super handy. Anyone used them, or know of a place to get a better deal on them? I didn't think $80+shipping seemed too bad.

I signed up over on yamaha-motor.com in the "My Star" section. When I put my 99 under the my vehicle section it came up with some interesting documents. One of them what the attached Service Spec. pdf. file. I thought it had some interesting information in it so I thought I'd post it. I think it will be a handy guide for some torquing specs without having to page through the manual. It also has the plug number, some fluid type and capacity info etc. It covers the RSV and the RSTD.
