Hi folks...I just signed up after purchasing a NEW '08 Venture 2 weeks ago. We've gone on a couple of 'shake down' rides and now have 250 miles on the beast. What a GREAT piece of machinery. I am concerned about a 'grind' or 'whomp' coming from the Rear Axel/Drive Shaft/Rear Wheel. As we slow down, it follows the rhythm of the speed of the wheel and goes, whomp-whomp-whomp, etc. It is also apparent when the bike is off and I'm pushing it into the garage to put it to bed for the night or getting it out to the driveway. IS THIS NORMAL? IS THIS THE DRIVESHAFT TURNING? IS IT THE HUB? SHOULD I JUST LET IT "BREAK IN" or is there too much friction that it will become a more serious problem. I have the left bag off and check the rear hub/shaft oil level. It's very slightly low...and I'll top it off tonight. Otherwise, what should I do. THANKS.....THIS IS GREAT !! I happen to look under the trailer this afternoon, after making a pretty long trip today. Is all that Black stuff, grease, for the berrings?. the trailer rolls quitely, no grind what so ever. how soon, should the alex be redone? We're pulling it to the Leesburg rally in two weeks and want to have it ready.
