I just bought a 1983 xvz12 and it is not running very well. When you rev it up the front carb on the left side...the "piston looking thing" on the top (when air cleaner is removed) is not moving and the back carb is back firing when you rev it up. The right side seems okay. I was told it has been sitting since 89 but the last year he was driving to and from his MC club. and help would be greatly appreciated.

I just got my Diamond R leveling links and they work great as advertised. Low speed handling greatly improved, must easier initiating turns at speed. Push pressure on the bar greatly reduced when getting the bike to turn in, I feel like I'm back on my old Honda ST 1300. The seat height is maybe a 1/2'' higher, don't really notice it. Thanks to Rick Butler for designing them, and to Diamond R for their craftsmanship and great service. Ron:cool10:

It is with great saddness that I report that Steamers brother passed away today from brain cancer. Thankful he did not suffer long. He did leave behind a wife , 2 kids and 5 grandkids. If you keep a few good thoughts for the family it would be greatly appreciated.

Have any of you ever had the fairing off? What about swapped wiring harnesses. I want to swap the harness from my 83 with a CB to my 83 without. I believe this is going to be a job, so what are some of your opinions? Would it be easier to splice in the CB? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks- CJ

I'm selling my 2006RSV and have it in the classified section here, but was wondering where the best other places to list it would be! I've never sold a vehicle outright so I'm not sure where to turn. I don't want to mess around with paypal and just want a normal transaction. Any help you folks can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, kenw

I just picked up my venture not too long ago and am still in the process of getting my motorcycle license and have been doing some work on the bike since I got it. Got a couple of problems that I can't figure out though. The gas guage only works when the bike is near completely full or near empty but nowhere in between, anybody have any ideas why? Also the light on the computer always says the kickstand is down even when it isn't. If I actually put the kickstand down while it is in gear it will run horrible so it is obviously getting the signal so I don't know why the light doesn't go off. The guy that had it before me said they changed the actual sensor that is attached to the kickstand so I don't think it is that but I can't be sure. Once again, if anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it. I am new and you have made me feel very welcome and I greatly appreciate it, the tech articles have helped me alot so far, and it feels good to be part of such a tight knit group. Thanks again Brian

Looking for a new windshield for the bike. I still have the original installed but want something else. I have heard that they can delaminate if they are cut down. So far I have seen the windshield from Slip Strreamer or Clearview. Any thoughts or preference on those two? Open to something else as well. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I'm search-challenged! So I've seen LOTS of references to a procedure for checking plug wires / coils for resistance (on RSVs)....but I have yet to "stumble upon" that holy grail! I've searched "spark", "resistance" and a bevy of other spark-related terms...but have not found THE procedure. From what I can tell, this may be a document created by V7Goose? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Now that I have been adding accesories to my 07 RSTD, the battery post are clogged with wires I attached. Is there a better way? Perhaps some kind of terminal block I could install. As always, you suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mark:bowdown:

I know we all do our share for charities on here and poker runs etc... but the misses Tinystar is on the committee for raising stock at the Iowa food bank. She's asked me to mention it here to see if we can get any donations for the auction. If you have a hobby like making bird houses, knick knacks, embroidery or anything along those lines it would be greatly appreciated. You can contact me here or my wife or give me a call. Whatever is donated is tax deductable and a receipt can be sent if desired. Thanks for reading and God Bless. Ride safe. Mike

Publix has decided to put Dec. 7 as the islamic new year instead of Pearl Harbor Day. As an American, U.S. Army vet and the son of a WWII vet, this upsets me greatly. I will NEVER spend another penny in publix again. Hope you take your money elswhere too. http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/publix.asp

I received an email tonight that I thought I would pass along the heart of it. This website is to Say Thanks and show Support of our Troops. From the website..."The cooperation and generosity of multiple organizations has made it possible to send the millions of postcard messages submitted through this Web site. Xerox has partnered with Give2TheTroops, the Boys and Girls Clubs, print shops and corporations that have all greatly contributed to the success of Let’s Say Thanks." The site is http://www.letssaythanks.com I have never served in the military but I do support our troops. Our soldiers past and present are the reason that we enjoy the freedoms that so many take for granted. I sent my card. Hope some of you will too. Cheers, smalltowntx

Brought my brand new Venture home this afternoon, parked her in the garage, threw on my uniform and hauled a** into the city for work!!! The 5 miles from the dealer home were the smoothest, most comfortable I've spent on a bike! Hoping for some slow time tonight at work to start to read my manual. Any break in hints or tips would be greatly appreciated. I know I've already left my fuel selector valve on in my garage, hope its ok till my wife gets home! Pics to follow tomorrow!!
