Who has good knowledge of the Valley of the Gods Road off Hwy 261 in Utah? It's a short stretch, about 25kms, gravel...is it worth it? I have read this thread http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=28495 and would like to see the switch backs there too, but I don't want to take another stretch of gravel if it isn't worth it compared to what I'll already be seeing.

The wife and I just got back from 5 days in Colorado Springs - - what a fabulous part of the country. Unfortunately, we were saddened to witness the start of what is now a totally out of control wildfire just west of the city in an area called Waldo Canyon. We just got to the top of Pikes Peak on Saturday morning via the Cog Railway when the fire broke out, and it spread like crazy in just one hour. See the pics to see what I mean. Right after we got down to the bottom, they were closing just about everything in the entire area, including the Garden of the Gods which we really wanted to see. I definitely want to go back someday on the bikes, but when it's a little cooler - - it was 97 to 103 while we were there, and virtually no humidity and 30+ mph winds. the perfect storm for wildfires.

What would you give for a used set of Bubs to fit your Venture? They have approximately 15-16000 miles on them. Yes, the tips have the usual flaking. I'm thinking $50 plus a case of beer and you come and get them and we go for a ride here in God's country!!! South central Kentucky! Down on beautiful Lake Cumberland. (No, you can't ride your bike "on" the Lake)
