Bought a low mileage 2008 this spring. Replaced a GL1500. SO far I like the venture better than the GL with the exception of the sound system which doesn't seem to have the oomph to provide enough volume to overcome earplugs. Handling is vastly superior to the GL1500. Not sure yet about all day comfort (which was excellent on the GL after adding a $700 aftermarket seat) but I'll get a read on that Friday when I make a trip for work with 225 mile round trip. hoping the stock seat doesn't cause butt burn. I dearly wish it had an electrically adjustable WS like my FJR. Presently adding farkles: baker air wings passenger arm rests (not sure of vendor yet, suggestions welcome) a clock! maybe a tach XM radio mount somehow I have to address the volume issue as road trip tunes are a big deal for me. good bike; I'm very glad I bought it!

long story boring ,the wife and i have rented a GW GL1500 Aspencade for 10 days, for our trip back to Scotland . so i'd like to know from some of you Wingers, about the range of these bikes, on a full tank of gas (petrol). the owner says its a small tank but it gets around 250 miles . now im thinking thats pretty good but i'd like to know if thats about right .we're gonna be traveling in mostly rural areas(single track roads mainly) ,down to Yorkshire then back up to the Western Isles ,Skye and Lewis . so in the grand scheme of things that aint that many miles, but if youve ever seen some of these areas ,theres a lot of scenery(and rain) but not much else.not good places to run out of gas(petrol) .so any and all info etc would be appreciated.

need some opinions on how much a 1991 Goldwing GL1500 Trike w/trailer is worth. the bike has 91K miles, has reverse and seems to be in great condition. everything appears to be working on the trike. this bike and trailer were just donated to our camp and we possibly will be selling it shortly. 1991 Goldwing GL1500 http://i48.tinypic.com/20sulft.jpg

Any of you ride a GL1500? I need to know, if someone can tell me, if Wal-Mart sells an oil filter that is compatible with the GL1500's. My dad has a 1996 GL1500, and hates to pay for the filters from the dealer, and I'm sure there are suitable replacements. Trying to search through Goldwing forums for "replacement oil filter" is like searching any oil related topic at any forum. Thanks in advance for any help.
