Had to pick up an 18 wheeler in welland last night, and on the way decided to stop and p/u a drink at Cassablanca. As I parked I spied a second gen venture complete with rider. I decided to introduce myself and we had a chat (No not as long as one of Carls) but we spoke just the same. I asked him if he was a member or even heard of us. Turns out he did but could not seem to find our site. So I gave him our website and then a little bit about us (not too much I did not want to scare him off). We had a few chuckles (seems like the sort that would fit right in). I let him know how we look out for each other. For eg: how us 1st Genners carry tow ropes to make sure the 2nd Genners can keep up during group rides. (He kind of laughed at that one, I think he thought I was joking.) Any way I get the feeling we will soon have another member.

After reading about the patch that Cruser found online, I ordered one from ebay. The link to that thread is next. The link to this one has profanity in it, but I like it and ordered one. He also said he would make some up in black with white lettering. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=51590 After exchanging several emails with the creator of this patch, I asked him If he could do a custom patch. He said he would do one up. It will read Why Yes, It Is Faster Than Your RSV He said it will take a few weeks to get it together and that he would let me know when they are ready. If anyone is interested in one let me know and I will forward it to him how many he can sell. I will not be involved with selling them as his price with shipping is real low. Now, no hate posts from you 2nd genner's, thread title said not to read this. Gary

I installed a set of E3's on the '89 I have here and have a question for the 1st genners. I find that the handling actually went down, I'm thinking because of the profile on the tire and it being more rounded up into the casing. It actually feels to me, at slow speeds to plow more, kinda like a stock 2nd gen. I'm not too crazy about this, but I know that I will get used to how it reacts. My question is, do any of you other 1st genners feel the same as I do ?

I am in the middle of getting Dave Pankows bike ready to roll for the season. I have the carbs off and #2 air/fuel screw isn't coming out. I have tried everything and it's just not going to come. I dont need a whole bank of carbs, just #2 the others came out. What I need is if any of you 1st genners have even just the body of #2 carb that I can transfer all the other parts into. This is an '86 1300 and I can use all the help I can get, thanks for the time

Not to be outdone with selling the 2nd genners the R/K brackets at $5 off normal price, I will extend the offer of the Driving light Brackets for you 1st genners with $5 off the normal price. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/835/cat/6/limit/recent/date/1156391368 This is as cheap as I can possibly go with the DLB's and I wouldn't be able to take anything else off them and still make money. So if you have been thinking about getting a set, I can promise you that they will never be any cheaper then they are right now. I will run this sale also till Memorial Day 2008.
