Well we have a new Atlana area member, some of you met him at the N. Ga. M&E. Gene rides a Kawasaki Concours. I told him he would be in for some good natured ribbing about not riding a Venture or Yamaha, but he did ride a V Star 650 before moving up to is nice looking Concours. I guess thats sorta like staying at the Holiday Inn Express.............:rotfl: By the way Gene and I work for the same company, so I will make sure he keeps up with you guys Welcome to the family Gene, you just joined the most addictive web site in the world!!!!!

As most people know, Beer30 & Beer 24/7 own a company that makes bags and accessories for the military. They also make bags for the Mk I MkII, & 2nd Gens. These bags have been copied from the original bag produced by Yamaha, but they are made out of much better and durable material than the original, Gene also adds his own personal touch to make the bags desirable. Gene in the past has donated bags at Vogel, MD, and other events as door prizes, he also has provided our own Muffin man with various bags for his stint over in the Sandbox. Gene has graciously donated a set of bags to be auctioned off for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This auction is for whatever bike you own be it a Mk I, Mk II, or a 2nd Gen. The winner will be able to choose the color of his choice out of those that Gene has on and, he will also be willing to personalize them with embroidery, but that will be at the winners expense. These bags normally retail for around $80.00. 5 sill notify Gene of the winner and Gene will take it from there. I don' have any pictures available right now, but as soon as they are made available to me I will post them here and in the auction. I will have the auction posted by the end of the day. You can follow the link below to the auctions listed in the classifieds under St. Jude Auctions. Many thanks to Gene and Becky for not only by being great supporters of VR, but supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.:clap2: http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds

Ok I'm home. We got to Beer's house a little after 10 last night and then headed over to Jeff's RV to pass out. It was a rather eventful time coming home. Jeff (muffinman) and George (Sleeperhawk) switched bikes for a bit. Everything went pretty well TILL WE GOT TO NC. We stopped to fill up and say goodbye to the sleeperhawks and headed off towards home (we thought). Gene (Beer) and I were in the truck (I made the sacrifice to ride in the ac somebody had to) Jeff and Tim were on bikes we tried to get on I40. Tried being the main point. It was closed. I don't know how much of it is closed but it's a pain trying to find a way around it all. So we make a U-turn sort of. Jeff and Tim could but Gene needed more room with the truck. So we head off to find a turn around spot. Then across the cb we hear Jeff say he's got a problem. Gene and I make a really fast turn around and head off in their direction. There's Jeff and Tim at an intersection and the bike is dead. Gene gets out of the truck and heads over to them they finally get it started (it seemed to vapor lock). So off we go again trying to find a way home. Finally Tim finds a way we can go and get on I40 only to be routed back off of it. At least this time we found detour signs. Made it to the highway and then a little while after that Tim heads off. No major problems now WE THINK. Then we get off for more gas for Jeff. He fills it up in a little town called Meadow. Jeff heads off to the on ramp and when we get to him the bike is stopped again. He plays with it with some help from Gene. Finally get it started. As we're heading home Jeff figures it's the colder gas hitting a hot engine and shrinking the rubber hose piece. He said he'll just rebuild the thing. At one of our gas stops we're all trying to stay in the shade. Keep the guys cooling off some after being on the bikes in the heat. Some lady comes over she has a problem with her car. We see the hood come up Jeff checks it talks to the lady. Next thing we know Jeff's gettin in the car with the lady for a quick go around to see what's wrong with the car. He diagnosed her problem told her it wasn't major and she'd definitely make it to Pittsburgh. Then we head off. Tim, Gene and George thought this was funny that the lady would come up to Jeff. But it happens alot. So that was our ride home. Took longer then it should have, but we had our family with us. Now for the thankyou's. Don you're wife is an angel. You are definitely very lucky to have her. Eileen is a sweetheart. God bless her for putting up with all of us. I'm positive nobody went home saying how come Don didn't just make hamburgers. That was a lot easier deal then making food. easier to clean up too. You're son seems to be a very good kid you're luck their too. I enjoyed meeting all the new folks to me. I'm probably gonna be terrible at remembering names but I'll remember the faces. Thank you Cindy for the lovely thong. I'll polish it up seems some of the guys were very interested in it and got fingerprints on it. Thank you Lonna and Brad I can't even begin to express how much we love you guys. I'm glad you got to come to eat with us.Sorry if we were an embarrassment :rotf:with the spit balls and salt, and the funny conversation and the sing along. It's a wonder we don't get thrown out of some places. Well now that this is becoming a book I'd better stop. First I have to say a special thanks to Ruffrider. Jeff it was great seeing you again so soon and thanks for what you did. Jeff doesn't feel like he deserved this but he's just gonna have to suffer and enjoy the bike. I'm glad I finally got to meet Yama mama in person, as well as Carl and a few others. It was great. I'm sorry if I forgot anything I need a nap, and a nice cold shower to cool off. Man it's hot here. Love You Guys your the best family a person could find themselves connected to. And we all chose each other. Margaret

sorry Gene but who better to use.................... Twas two days before Christmas, when all through the site The usual creatures were stirring, some would give you a fright. The stockings were hung by the Ventures with care, In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there. The bikes were nestled all snug in their sheds, While visions of chrome danced in their heads. And mamma in her ‘leathers, and I in my skull cap, Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, sounded like a 1st Gen loseing all kinds of matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But Gene and his trailer and 8 cases of beer. He's a strange old driver, not too lively or quick, I knew in a moment it couldn't be St Nick. More rapid than eagles his 2nd Gen came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called the beers by name! "Now mickeys! now, Corona! now, coors and busch lite! On, heineken! On, Labatts! , on millers and bud lite! To the tip of my lips! lets have a ball! Now drink away! Drink away! Lets Drink em all!" As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky. So up to the drive way that leather beast flew, With the trailer full of beer, and of course Gene too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard a smalll knock and when i tried not to answer, he threw a rock. As I drew in my head, and was turning around, In the door Beer30 came with a bound. He was dressed all in leather, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were all tarnished with road dirt and soot. A bundle of pink leather he had flung on his back, And he looked like a gay man, just opening his pack. His eyes they were blood shot! his dimples how merry! His breathe was atrocious, his nose a drunk cherry! His rather big mouth was was slurring quite slow, And the grey in his hair was as white as the snow. The mouth of a bottle he held tight in his teeth, And the stench it encircled his head like a wreath. He had a broad face and a big round belly, and I cringed when he laughed, cause beer breath is smelly! He was chubby and plump, and looked like an elf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself! A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know this was a night to dread. He spoke many words, and ate all our food, finished all the beers, he really was rude. And sticking his finger inside of his nose, And giving a nod, off the chair he finally rose! He sprang to his bike, to his CB gave a whistle, And away he flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him laughing, ‘as my eyes started to tear, "Ho, Ho Ho, you got me instead of Santa this year!" :rotfl::rotfl:

I can't remember which screw on the right side syncs those two together. Is it the left or right looking from the left side? Remember 97' RSTD not venture or newer RS they are different. Gene Weir:confused24:
