Ok, have a 2001 RSV and with 85,000 miles I have always used high test gasoline thinking it gave it more power and better miliage, wrong, this is the thoughts of a majority of people includeing myself until SkyDoc enlightened me. The RSV was designed to run on 86 octain and not high test. Just made a trip 2 days ago from Va to St Louis, running 75 and 80 MPH just about all the way, I averaged 42.2 MPG with lowest 38.7 on one tank full. The bike also ran better, and smoother than it has ever ran, even the whinn sounds quiter. Just think of all the money I wasted on high test in those 85,000 miles at 30 cent more per gallon. So guys and gals, go to regular gasoline, it will make a very noticable differance to your advantage, again thank you SkyDoc. JB:dancefool:

Yesterday when returning from a short ride and ten minutes after parking the bike in the garage, I notice an awful smell of gasoline, I check and to my surprise I saw the oil window level and IT IS COMPLETELY FULL. I have not touch the fuel cock for quite some time now, last time I did I broke the plastic handler so I just left it alone. Do anyone know what can cause this problem?, I don’t want to move the bike until at least I replace the oil, which I think is mixed with gasoline. All input will be so much appreciated Rudy

Another carb question
SapperMedic posted a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I cleaned the carbs, replaced the diaphragms and then synced it this weekend. Now my question is, When I first start it up cold (San Antonio cold 70*) it runs really poorly, but as soon as it warms up, it goes like a gasoline coated cat (don't ask me how I know what that looks like). Shoudl it do that or am I just being paranoid? (I know they're out to get me) -

Hello Everyone, I'm looking for a bit of advice or your thoughts. I took my '05 RSTD in for the 28K maintenance the other day and now I'm noticing a gasoline smell that wasn't there before. Nothing is leaking that I can see. Any ideas? Is this something that will go away in a day or two? Could the technician have left a fuel line loose or something? Thanks, Lee
