I have a 2010 Ford Escape with 63k on the odometer. The AC quit working. I took it to the dealer and he gave me a quote for $3500! Said the system was full of debris and they need to change everything in it. I called Ford and asked for some good will on this repair. I have always owned Rangers and the F series trucks. We will see how well Ford stands behind its product. Happy Friday the 13th.

Just tossing around an idea of upgrading to a 3/4 ton truck. I'm going to need one next spring for sure. I stopped at a Ford dealer and drove a F-250 with the 6.2 v8 gasser in it. Seemed like a good package for what little I drove it. I need the suspension etc. but I dont want a diesel. Wont use it enough as a workhorse to want to go full time diesel. I thought about the mileage issues etc. with gas vs. diesel. But adding a reliable 2nd pickup is another expense of licensing and insurance. Not to mention the cost of buying a good used 3/4 ton, would probly make it worth just buying a new 3/4 ton and having one good truck. So I guess I'm asking if anybody has any experience with the 6.2. My other option is going with a Dodge, havent ruled that out either.

We went up to Jackson, Missouri today, to look at a red '56 Ford, but it wasn't up to snuff. BUT....the guy had this sweet '55 Ford, and it was just right. Brought it home with us. Has a fairly fresh 292 in it, and it runs sweet.

Would anybody happen to have an ECM/PCM From a Ford F or E series with a 5.8L/351W, fuel injection, and manual trans, C6, or AOD? Somewhere in the 91 model year, give or take? I swapped in a 351W MEFI and an E4OD trans into my 78 F100 a couple years ago and the trans has been filled with gremlins. So I want to swap out the E4OD for an AOD. But I also have to swap out the ECM so the computer won't be looking for the E4OD and give me further issues. Thanks Bill

Now that the Tour Deluxe is gone - I picked up a new project. A guy had a an in the local shopper selling a 1950 F1 pickup for 500 but it was more of a project than I wanted to tackle. He had bought it to restore but found a better one and it was all done. So I asked him if I could see it and he opened his shed that had several cars he had redone. 64 Galaxy, 50 Ford F1, an old Lincoln, a Ford Street Rod, and two 53 Mercs. The first one was done 10 years ago and the other he had just finished. He used the interior and chrome from his first car to do the second. The he said he wanted to sell the other car that runs great and has all the parts and is solid - it just needs put together. Long story short - I bought the fixer upper at a great price! Now I have something to keep me busy!!! The first pictures are the car I bought and the last few pictures are of his car. If any of you want to come help me put it together - let me know!

I ride the bike to work most days, but luckily it has been cold here for the past month. Today I was headed West sitting 1/10 of a mile from my house, making a left turn onto my road. I had to wait for a few cars going East, so I could make the turn. A Saturn pulls up behind me and as he's stopping, a Jeep slams into his rear, knocking him into my rear. I was pushed forward a car length or more, and it knocked everything off of my sun visor and all of the pennies out of my ashtray. This was in a Ford F150. I called my wife to tell her I'd be a little late getting home, and when I told her what happened, she said "it's a good thing you weren't riding!". As soon as she said it I thought my knees would buckle. I hadn't thought about it before then. Be careful out there!

Rolling into work this evening on my 2007 and I saw an (2002?) RSV sitting at the light on Fern Valley infront of Ford. Has to be some one from here. He made sure I saw him from across the intersecton.

My oldest daughter turns 16 in late November, gulp. I'm looking to purchase a used, 2 door Ford Explorer, 4wd is nice but not required. Searching Craigslist daily too... $3k or less, as this is her first car and I'm sure dents will occur. So if anyone out there has a truck to unload, or knows of someone in the midwest, lemme know. Thanks.

as part of my second retirement plan, i was wanting to buy a new ford fiesta and have it paid for. well i could'nt find a fiesta so i went for a focus. i found a 2010 focus with $3000,00 cash back and my z plan discount of $1500.00, i got a fully loaded new focus for $14,400.00. i feel guilty, but it sure feels good to have it payed for. retirement is getting closer. can't wait. glad i got the focus. i don't think the fiesta was what i really wanted.

I hope someone here can steer me in the proper direction. I have a 2000 Ford Explorer Limited that I purchased about 2 years ago. It has the reverse sensing unit on it, where it beeps if you get close to anything backing up. I would like to find out how to set the darn thing so that the default is OFF. With cold weather setting in, the blankity thing is beeping at me from the exhaust steam. It is driving me nuts!!!!!!!! Any knowledge about these systems here? Thanks, Dave

Due to current discounting, I am considering buying a Ford Ranger XL small pickup truck. As to the Engine, 2.3L I4, and the transmissions installed in those vehicals. ?? Also, considering buying a trailer, for hauling the bike south to Calif. to gain a few more months of good rideing weather each year. OK. I'm open to any and all comments concerning the Ford Ranger Truck, as to engine reliability, etc etc etc. -- Tear it appart for me if you have any information !!!

We are having a wonderful Christmas and I hope you all are also. In SPITE of the fact that: The ring I bought Eileen doesn't fit. It will have to be re-sized. She bought me a new TomTom Rider Version 2 GPS. I like it...I think...it appears to be dead on arrival. Will not power up at all...even after charging for several house. Tried the reset button and other tips but it appears to be dead. Will have to exchange it tomorrow. Now Dylan (my 16 year old son) did OK. In addition to a lot of clothes and etc., he also got his first car. It is a '96 Ford Taurus. Low mileage and nice but ..... it IS a FORD. Hated to do that to him but he will have to live with it.

Fall colors are here. I was in the mountains today. Parsons,Davis, Canaan Valley, and Mt Storm WV. Grant County is changing fast. There is a massive Electric Wind Generator project building near the Mt Storm power plant. I have fond memories of the Red Baron riding through there with the Blue Beast. Those were the good ole days. Hey I need a ride soon. Today I was in a Ford.

As most of you know I lost my dear wife last Oct. in a motorcycle accident. I've been struggling with this everyday since and more so since I came back home from the hospital. I still cry almost everyday. Today the weather was nice and I went out to the shop. I got my '32 Ford out and gave it a wash, aired up the tires and met some friends for coffee. When I came home I went back out and started working on the '06 RSV. I got one new tire on, changed the oil in the rear end and put a few pieces of safety chrome on along with my Bubs and HD fishtails. It sure felt good to work out there with the doors open and the sun shining. A friend called and invited me out for dinner so I jumped into the '32 Ford and picked him up and went for a great turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Even splurged and had a apple dumpling for dessert. I haven't been eating dessert for a while now. Although I'm really beat right now, I really enjoyed the day. And that's something I haven't been able to say for a while.

Guys...need some input here if ya'll don't mind. I'm lokking at buying a 1992 Ford F-150 XLT extended cab fully loaded and not a 4x4. 5.8L engine, auto trans with trailer towing pkg. color matching canopy. Extremely good condition (from what I can tell) and has 180000 Kms (just over 100000 miles) It's got the captains chairs, air cond. cruise, tilt, pw & pl ... near new tires, new battery (I helped the guy install that today). I'm gonna test drive it tomorrow. What I need to know is what kind of problems these ford trucks are prone to. What should I be checking for? I've only had 2 ford trucks in my life, the first was a new '76 which I only kept for 6 months and the other was a '78 that I bought in '85 and I only kept that for 2 months...(traded it in on a new Mazda). This Ford I'm looking at is on the second owner...he's had it for almost 3 years. The first owner used it mostly to tow a camper trailer to Arizona once a year and back. While there, it basically sat for 3 month's. The current owner also towed a trailer but they bought a bigger trailer so the went out and got a bigger truck. He's asking $4000 OBO here's a pic
