  1. I got an email that you are causing trouble again. The email said that you have nominated me for an award just for putting up with all of the trouble that you cause. I'll have you know that MY middle name is Trouble. AND I don't always share well........well some things anyhow....... First you accuse me of being responsible for all of the wonderful winter weather and lovely snowfalls suitable for a Christmas card that anyone in North America gets , Then you try to steal my name. Now I have to find more, and more creative ways to cause Trouble just to be able to keep my name for myself. If you came into chat more often you would see that even the chat system often recognizes me as the one and only Trouble. Maybe I'll see if I kin make FOG. Ya that'll work for starters.......... I just have to let some of the fog that normally resides between my ears escape out into the world........
  2. brush fire smoke mixed with fog. 10 dead so far. http://us.cnn.com/2012/01/29/us/florida-fatal-crashes/index.html?hpt=hp_t3 US 441 also affected
  3. Illinois, east bound I-74 mile markers 154, 155. About 2:35 P.M. dark blue 1st Gen MK II. We were in the cage, on our way home from Omaha to Indy. Had to drive the car because of a tight schelule, could not afford weather delays, etc. The fog for about 100 miles leaving Omaha was terrible, was actually glad to be in the car. If this mystery rider is a member here, let us know.

  5. Ok on my 83 I have a few things I want to clean up for looks. One is on the right side cove. The tab on the tail of the fairing broke so the previous owner just duck taped it in place. I can fix the tab but how do I remove the tape remains without damaging the paint? The second is the windshield, it has like a mild fog to it. How can I get it nice and clear again? Or should I just get a new one? The third is the aluminum has a white oxidation, what do you recomend to remove this and protect it? Thank You, Shaun

Should have taken more pictures, but from here I really got wrapped up in riding each little town was either completely decked out for veteran's day, or not at all. Great ride. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj302/ThomWill/Ride%20to%20Kissimmee/100_0239.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj302/ThomWill/Ride%20to%20Kissimmee/100_0241.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj302/ThomWill/Ride%20to%20Kissimmee/100_0242.jpg
  7. I found an 06 white with the following: "Owner is asking 13,500 for an 06 with 20,194, white, just about everything I am looking for in the GW, heated seats and grips, fog lights, floorboards with heel toe shifter, cb." Is 13,500 to much for an 06?
  8. My job last night had me getting out at 3am. At 2:30 I was outside smoking and it was clear as a bell. 3 O'clock rolled around and it looked like something out of a Stephen King Movie. It was so thick and heavy you could feel it when you were breathing. Many of the non-smoker were coughing over the moisture. Well, I had about an hour and half ride home ( with good conditions) but, I wasn't wanting to try it in the soup. So, I made a few phone calls and ended up going to one of the bartenders house. I had to ride there and it was about 7-10 miles. As I was riding I thought I could feel cold water running down my legs. I wasn't going to look down, I couldn't see anything more than 10 feet in front of me anyway. Tail lights on cars were less than useful and I knew nobody could see my little tail light. So I had the Hazards on. The water was sheeting off of the wind screen like it was drizzling. I tried to smoke one on the way... but my cigarette was too damp to burn. I drove about 30mph to get there and when I jumped off the bike, my pant legs from the knee down looked like I had been in a down pour. The fog in my head light as I sat there looked like snow suspend in midair. I have seen some nasty fog in the mountains in TN... But I ain't never seen it like this:think:
  9. OK, some advice please. I have an '86 VR with 40,000 miles. Runs great no problems to speak of at the moment...except: I have added some new stuff to it since getting four years ago. (note, it has accessory running/brake/turn lights on the trunk, but otherwise was stock for electrical stuff.) I am running with the fm radio on, and usually the CB also. First I added fog lights. Typical small accessory lights (twin 55 watt?) and no problem. then added GPS, Garmin 765T and hard wired it to the battery. NO problem. Finally added heated tourmaster gloves hardwired to the battery. ONLY the gloves. Started out OK, but after a few miles if I come to a stop, the charge voltmeter goes below 12 to about 11, and when I take off it doesn't go back up to the about 13 volts like normal. Turn off the fog lights and it goes back up to normal. Turn them back on and as long as the bike keeps going, its ok, just when I let rpms drop quite a bit. My guess is I have hit the limit of the stock charging system. Two Questions: 1. IF I try to keep going like this will I hurt something? 2. What upgrade possibilities do I have? Many thanks for any and all advice.
  10. I want to mount some fog lights on my rsv. I read a previous post about the platnum burners. When mounting them do I need to use a relay or an in line fuse? I haven't never messed with a relay so what size do I need if I need one? Can I hook my driving lights up on the same relay or not? If someone has better advice on fog lights please let me know. Thanks hairman
  11. I took my 2007 RSV in to be inspected on Friday at a local gas station In Herndon Virginia. The inspector told me that the passing/driving lights and fog lights could only come on at low beam. Both the driving/passing lights on the light bar and the fog lights on the bottom of the forks have seperate switched. The driving/passing lights have a push button switch on the inside of the faring next to the power accessory plug and the fog lights have a switch that is attached to the gas tank. When I bought the bike from the dealer these were already installed by the PO. They inspected the bike with no problems. The inspector said he would let me go this time but does anyone know if this is true that they can only come on with the low beam?
  12. Hey West-by-God-Virginians, My wife and I are riding to a B&B in Smoke Hole, WV in Seneca Rocks State Park. We'll probably go second week of Sept for a couple of days. The website for the B&B warns about sudden storms and dense fog. Does anyone know this area and the real risks of getting bad weather in September? Anyone want to tag along?
  13. Brackets arrived from Squid and now I can't choose lights..My nomad had 55 watt "spots" made by Harley mounted up above center line of headlight which threw the light out well ahead and easily adjustable due to height. Now with the lower mounting position on the 87' and I am sure alot less adjustment angle, would I be farther ahead to use a Amber/clear "fog lamps"? Are you using using fog lamps or spotlights? Pro's --Con's ? 35 watt seems to me to be the choice for the charging system.. Thanks in advance Dave

    Sac Weather

I have an chance to do some school in the Sacramento area three weekends starting on Feb 22. What is the weather like this time of year? I have an Aunt who lives there but they don't ride. How bad is the fog and how well are the roads kept up? The class is in Rocklin and do they get ice there? Thanks Rod
  16. Yesterday morning we left real early to head up to Jrichards and Patricia's to pick up a '92 Venture. On the way back we met up with riderduke and his wife, daughter, and sister-in-law. Got home somewhere around 12:30 or 1:00 am this morning. We ran into one of those lovely slow downs on I95 for no apparent reason then someone somewhere hit their brakes, that took us till 9pm to get off of. Finally got passed that and tried making up some time on 295. Unfortunately couldn't make up any time on 460 way too many cops out on that stretch. Got to NC going thru suffolk and found fog. But we finally got home. Saw some of them nice furry four legged critters, don't like them in the fog. Anyway here's a pic of the new addition to the muffin house. Margaret
  17. As the temperatures have been falling the past week or two, there has been a distinct chill in the air. Makes for an invigorating ride! However, with the lower temperatures, I have found when I run through some spots with a temperature change, the windshield fogs up. This may have happened with my Suzi, I don't recall, but I looked over the top of the windshield so it wasn't an issue. Now though it can be kinda scary when suddenly your visibility goes to 20'. Has anyone found a good Lexan cleaner that will prevent fog? Randy
  18. Has anyone a Shorter windshield available for the Midnight Venture...I bought last week my Midnight Venture .. but this morning on my way to my work, I noticed how tall this windshield when driving in the Fog . you can contact me at color01usa@hotmail.com
