On my bike (96 Royal Star) I have the original exhaust and those 4 big old mufflers. Say I had a bunch of carbon deposit inside the mufflers...how would you go about cleaning or flushing them out? Could ya remove them from bike and get a few cans of carb cleaner and a air hose and go to sprayin and a blowin? Would that accomplish anything or not?

I asked in another thread but I think it got buried... I am replacing my clutch and front brake lines with braided stainless (2002 RSMV) and, of course, flushing the systems thoroughly with clean brake fluid. I'm flushing the rear brake but not planning to replace the lines. As far as I know, these are the original lines and I have no idea whether the previous owner ever did any service on the systems. I don't have any obvious issues but its definitely time for some preventative maintenance. Anyway, Yamaha says to replace the oil seals in the master cylinder (every 2 years, I think). Does anyone do this if they don't have a problem? Is it easy? What about any seals in the slave cylinders? Anything else I should know before I dive in? Thanks Ross

Before all you comedians comment, I mean flushing a motorcycle cooling system, with chemicals. Just thought I'd throw that in first. Ha Ha! Now then, has anyone ever done this and what did they use? Did you use regular automotive cooling system flush formulated and safe for aluminum or was it bike specific? I don't really believe mine needs it but I am going to do it anyway. Just looking for some advise and experienced guidance.
