I am retiring today after 32 years in school transportation. It is actually a lot sadder day then I thought it would be. Hard to leave people you have been working beside for so many years. Will start working for a friend on a part time basis on Monday. Will be able to ride a lot more. Going to spend two weeks in Florida (Ft. Myers) in early March and the wife and I are going to ride the bike down to Key West. May be able to hook up with some of the south Florida riders while were there. I guess I'll end this now, starting to ramble.

What is the owner of a bike with title in hand thinking about or worrying about if he says this in his ad... "PLEASE FLORIDA BUYER ONLY/TITLE MUST BE TRANSFERRED IN A TAG AGENCY BEFORE BUYER LEAVES WITH BIKE."

Hi: I sent the bike to Florida last fall where it is being stored in the Titusville area. We flew down last Decemeber and travelled to Key West and back. Awesome experience. We are flying down again in mid march for some more touring. I will likely need the rear tire replaced while in the Titusville Florida area. Is anyone aware of a shop somewhere in this area where I can wait while the wheel is removed and tire mounted/balanced. I will supply the tire. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. Jim

It got down to -9 F the other morning and today it snowed..... so off to Florida we go. We'll be leaving monday morning for 6 weeks in Orlando. Got a house sitter all lined up, tools loaded ( we do volunteer maintance work at YWAM.... Youth With A Mission). Stay warm everyone who live up here in this frozen tundra. I'll be thinking about you when I'm at the snow white beach in Sarasota one week from today. Also planning to go to the Daytona 500 and a Zillion Flea Markets.

Dont see anything in the Favorite Roads and Destinations for Florida? On Way back from the keys in March, I am thinking about talking Rt 27 on 3/30-31/2012. Took the southern leg of 27 a couple years ago then jogged east of lake okechobee. Was 2nd week of June and the love bugs were terrible. 1. When is love bug season (there are 2?) 2. Would like to do the west side on this trip... Anyone travel it from start to finnish?

Becky and I are driving to Florida at the end of the month via I79, I77, I26 and I95. If you are somewhat near this route and want to meet up for a cup of Joe, a meal, etc let me know. We are NOT particularly looking for accomodations as we pretty much plan on spending time in hotels but would love to at least say hi on the way down and back. We are leaving Tuesday Jan 24th and are arriving in Boca Raton FL Friday. We are taking an 8 day cruise leaving Saturday from Ft Lauderdale. When we get back we have friends and relatives to visit in Florida for a couple of days and then heading back on a Monday. respond here or by PM...

I sent my bike to Florida this year with a friend who was taking his truck and trailer down with him to his winter home. It will be down there until April when he will bring it back, unless I ride it back. His home is in the Titusville area. We plan on flying down a couple of times through the winter, the first one being in early December for around 10 days. So I am hoping there are some Florida members or others who could offer some suggestions for routes and neat things to see (other than the normal Orlando stuff). We plan on doing the Florida Keys for sure and wonder whether following the Atlantic shoreline down would be worth it or if we should simply follow the Florida turnpike or I-95. We are also considering heading North towards Jacksonville and Savanah Ga and then over to Macon, Ga and back down. I always try to avoid interstates, so if anyone has any ideas for routes to and from these areas I would love to hear from them. Thanks JR

Hello everyone, New here and excited about my purchase but confused.....I'm actually in the purchasing and transporting process at this time. I'm purchasing a 2007 Royal Star Venture in Ohio and trying to arrange to get it here to Florida. Confusing I might add. I have never done this before and I'm seeking suggestions if anyone has any. I'm excited about the bike but not about the process. Thanks ahead of time for your comments.

Anybody know where I can get a tune up in South Florida? I only know of one Yamaha shop down here and I'm not sure they know how to work on a Venture.

Planning a trip to New England in mid July and want to take the bikes. Not interested in riding there from Florida ( the wife certainly isn't) plus prefer to maximize time in New England area. Have looked into the Amtrak Autotrain, but that is getting expensive with a sleeper room for our dates to the point that airfare and MC shipping would/may be close the same money. Plus with the Amtrak still need to drive the bike from DC to NH (and Back). Anyone here shipped their bikes from Florida to NE or thereabouts or can otherwise recommend a good MC shipping company? Would be shipping two bikes there and back, my RSTD and my buddy's LC1500. Thank You in Advance, Derrek rstddog

The shuttle is packed and the trailer is loaded. Now to get out of here before the next weather system arrives. Florida, here we come.

We went for a ride today and upon our return I smelled antifreeze. I located the leak by the right rear sparkplug around a plug that looked like it could be tightened with a hex key. I tried to tighten the plug but it didn't turn so I backed off until I can find out what this is. My manual is snuggled up in my warm garage in Tennessee and I'm here is sunny, chilly Florida..I'll appreciate any comments. Thanks.

We are going to ride with another couple to the Florida Panhandle area for Thanksgiving. Will only stay 2 or 3 days max. Destin, Ft Walton, Panama City Beach,,, don't know. Can anyone suggest a on-the-beach hotel/motel or rental condo in that area. Condo with two bed rooms is ideal. Just want to chill out, turkey not required. Thanks, Mike G in SC

OK Maybe I am asking to much but my wife and I are planning a trip to Florida towards the end of January. We are going to haul our bike down in the pickup until it gets warm enough to ride and I was wondering if any of you in the Georgia/N Florida area might live someplace with room to park my old pickup in your field or something for a week while we ride around Florida. Anyway just a thought. Rick

Hello Everyone,, I had to cancel my trip out to Florida caverns due to an Emergency Service Call Saturday morning. Work. Most of my Vacation time this year was used to work for other people or Repairs/ Improvements on my Property. So the week of T-Giving I am off with NO Service call responsibility. I have lived in Florida for 20 years and have never made it to the Florida Keys. I am considering taking a senic ride through middle of Florida/backroads to the Keys. Maybe leave on Monday ride back on Wedesday, if I can find real cheap places to snooze, shower, etc... Anyone Else planning a ride or is everyone just talking about riding. LOL Anyone else want to head south? Does anyone have a suggestion of cheap/good place to stay in Key Largo, $50-70 per night.? Camping Cabin, RV Rental, B&B, etc..... Any Opinions welcome. LAter Vern
