It's been a while since the Houston brethren got together, and it's long over due. What say ye to having a fall MD at our place in Cleveland? Lots of room here, the weather will be breaking in a couple of weeks. So would their be any interest in fixing on some bikes and lots of BSing, and a BBQ? Post up your thoughts and we'll see if we want to set a date or not

Just noticed I have a burned out driving light. I have a 07 midnight with factory driving lights. They say they a sealed beam. How would I go about fixing this? Sorry for the dumb ?

My turn signals have become cold blooded. They only work when it's above about 72* (not a problem right now) I'm assuming it's a sealed unit and no fixing possible. I believe the part no. is 41R-83350-71-00. Does anybody have a spare?

Has anyone ever been sucessful in fixing the keyless entry remote. I have one that went dead. Tried a new battery, cleaned the terminals still dead. If you have how would one go about trouble shooting to determine which electric component needs replacing?

This question was asked a few months ago...... Now I personally have drawn hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of knowledge from this board not to mention dang good entertainment and camaraderie. the purpose of this post is that I just used a how to about fixing an e-4/e-1 code on the class system. followed Freebirds instructions reassembled and it now works perfect!!! Don't mind telling ya'll I feel a little proud of myself. soldering gun 5.86 solder 2.00 fixing it myself... priceless (with alot of help from friends I,ve never met) Thanks, Allen

Well, my ignition switch is showing signs that it's getting ready to fail. I wired a bypass tonight, don't want to get left stranded in the middle of nowhere this weekend, headed to Copper Harbor, Mi. I have been reading the tech section for ideas on how to go about fixing the switch. How many have tried disassembling and repairing the switch ? This thread details fixing the switch. What I'd like to know is if others have had success doing this repair?

If anybody here is either looking for or knows anyone looking for a 1978 Honda CB400, either for parts or to repair, they are more than welcome to come get it. When I got it, I did get it to start, but not well. I found a hole in one of the pistons. My first hunch is it was caused by the fancy splitfire plugs that were in it. I took the engine out and pulled both pistons. A friend was interested in fixing it but then lost both pistons. A long story how he managed that. The timing guides also need replacing and a valve stem also got worm kind of funny as well. I do have all the parts boxed up and it has always been store indoors. It's a flat primer gray and has a tear in the seat, but is in good condition otherwise with good tires, at least the last time I looked, I think). I also have a couple manuals that you can have as well. When I was going to fix it, I was going to bore it 1 over and if I remember right it was gonna run about $500 total or so. Any questions, please feel free to ask. I'm not fixing it myself because I have plenty other projects. I'm giving it away because it was given to me by the original owner. And I'm usually not much of a capitalist either. Thanks, Bill P.S. I'll try to get into my shed later and take some pics if needed.

When I bought the 86 Vr the owner said the hydraulic clutch needed to be rebuilt and when I played with it that is all it seemed to be. I had spare rebuild kits for the master cylinder and slave so I went about fixing it today and low and behold someone had tried fixing the slave and ruined the housing now I need to find a slave cylinder housing.

i kind of don't like this era to much. it's a world made out of plastic throwaway crap. i think i will finish up my years enjoying the neat collector stuff i had when i was a kid, and things were high quaility, and hand made out of real metal and wood. since i won't be able to ride much longer, i think i'm going to start collecting and fixing up some of the neat things i had. i think i was awful lucky to live in the days when folks valued the neat things they had to work so hard to get. i feel sorry for the next generation that will have nothing but cheap plastic crap to fall back on.

Well that was a long Daytona 500, but I liked the end. I'm glad Jamie won that, after losing his ride last year. They should have used that epoxy the first time they tried fixing the track though. Would have shortened the time we sat around watching it dry. Margaret

My E4 code keeps springing up more and more, so I made time to see about fixing it. It took some doing to get the housing open. The pic shows some type of clear resin(?) which used to coat(?) the connectors having run of the board and essentially gluing the back cover to the housing. Is this "melting" of the I guess, protective cover, normal for the bikes age? Does it affect performance? I do see some small hairline fracture so I'll be fixing those, just want to make sure it's not wasted effort. Thanks joints aresoldered and unit is back together and seems to be working (for now ;-P) still would like to know about the "leak". Also curious if the CLASS can be made to work while the bike is running?

I have a Beretta 380 that I have been using for target practice. (recently qualified for carry conceal permit). The safety became sticky after while but now it won't work at all. Not good to have a gun without a functioning safety. I have had such good luck with this site and fixing my bike, I was wondering if there is a comparable user friendly site that I could ask questions of for firearms. Iowa Guy

When I down shift my cycle backfires at times. The choke is pushed in all the way and for a bike that is nine years old it runs great. Any suggestions on fixing this problem? I had never had any problems until now. Thanks
