So how many haw drilled there stock mufflers to get a louder sound? How many holes? What size? ans where did you drill. The Sampson Fishtails are just a bit to loud but i could deal with it if I need too.

Hi there ive just got a lovely pair of harley Roadking fishtails . Ive made my brackets but cant seem to find any bolts that fit the rear mounts . Does anyone know what thread and size i need . Cheers Edge

Just installed new fishtails. My old ones came right off and the new ones slipped right on. Almost too easy thanks to Rick's knob bolts on the saddlebags. The hardest part was getting the stickers off that warned "might not meet EPA standards" . I need chrome muffler and muffler support clamps. Where is the best source for these items? Thanks for any help! PS: They fit so well that I went around the block without clamps-sounds like an old muscle V8 from the sixties.

I finally got my fishtails mounted today. They are a tad long, but I like them. I had to make the rear mounting brackets, because they came without. I didnt want to use hanger brackets, so I used stainless steel. I welded the bracket on the inside of the pipe, and didnt have much discoloration. I apologize for the bike being dirty, but just took it ot of hibernation. All in all I am pleased with them. -
This may have been covered before and I missed it, if I did, I apologize. Anyway I am thinking of adding fishtails to my bike. Already have Barons slash cuts, so I thought that maybe a cheap set of fishtails might be fun. Can't get much louder! Checking into the JC Whitney fishtails, i found that they are smooth pipes with no rearward mounting brackets at all. Are they ok to run just mounted to the headpipe only? You could use a "P" hanger bracket of some sort, but wouldnt look that good. If anybody is familiar with em I would appreciate hearing from you.

I'm going to sell me Sampson Mufflers they are like new no scratches,dents or dings they are just not what I want. I was thinking about putting them on eBay. Anyone have an idea of what I can get for them? Or maybe want to make an offer. Help Please.

So as many of you know when I bought my 03 RSV it had the stock mufflers on it. The guy I got it from had a GW before he bought this he had Sampson Fishtail mufflers that he put on but did not like them. Well today I took the saddlebags off to clean everything up really good and decided to go ahead and put the Fishtails on. It sounds GREAT to me a bit loud until you get to cruising speeds but I like it! I'm just wondering how much louder it will get with miles on them? I've had the slash cut tips on my bubs now for about 4 years and was thinking of changing them to the Fishtails or Sharkfins. Has anyone put them on thier RSV ride? Some pictures would be great.
